When your co-worker is talking to you about Earth Day events, and she says Green Day instead of Clean and Green. Just looking at me makes people say Green Day!2 points

The next song I can’t get out of my head: Head over Heels, that Go Go‘s / Billie collab from Coachella. I want that on Spotify!!2 points

The song isn't doing much for me. It's good and I'm sure it'll grow on me, but right now I lump it in with other songs like HCTS and Holey Toledo. Fine songs, but ones I ultimately forget even happened. I'm glad it wasn't on Saviors because it feels more like a FOAM track to me.2 points

Yeah it’s fine. Maybe it’ll sound better in the summer driving with the windows down or by the water. Then again, we have Corvette Summer for that.1 point

Thank you for you kind and very true words: I'm just so glad to have found them! And this community of course!❤️ (Although I'm sometimes still angry with myself for doing this so late, where the fuck did I live not to notice them sooner??) But these days with new music coming soon and the Coachella pictures everywhere, I have to say that the feeling ist still getting more intense. I can't express how much I love this band... If this continues, I'll be a nervous wreck until the Vienna shows. 🤣1 point

15 April On this day in 2009, Green Day played the Uptown in Oakland – the last time they played 21st Century Breakdown in full. On 15 April 2005, Green Day played the University of Miami Convocation Center in Coral Gables, FL on the American Idiot Tour. More photos: So that’s a wrap. I hope this project will be a great resource for many years to come. It was a lot of work but I'm glad I completed it. I’ll eventually add new events as they happen and go back through the thread to remove ‘_ years ago’ so it will always be relevant (I definitely don’t have the time or energy to change the numbers each year). I still need to add some things I missed in the beginning and quite a few Saviors Tour shows. I’ll post when I add them so if people want to see them, they know what to look for. If anyone would like to reminisce on the anniversaries of anything, whether it’s shows, albums or videos, please continue to do so! The best thing about this thread is people sharing their own experiences1 point

I completely agree with this, well, rather than the Lazy Bones on Tre. The other two songs seriously have the vibe of Dos and Uno, especially Troublemaker since Dos is kind of billie's horny era loll.1 point

I've not seen any Coachella videos so I don't know how good the set was, but this part of the review surprised me: 'In lieu of added staging or guests (a little of friend and occasional co-performer Billie Eilish would have gone a long way), Armstrong relied on classic rock concert tricks for audience engagement.' I'm so glad Green Day don't usually bring random celebrities on stage. I know festivals are different and the Coachella crowd must be a difficult one, but Green Day are still considered one of the best live bands in the world - they don't need a celebrity appearance to engage the audience. And it's cool that they give fans the chance to have the best nights of their lives on stage, rather than giving some other musician publicity. I also don't really understand how that would improve a shit performance 😂1 point

I don’t remember that quote exactly but I did think the same thing about that lyric because he has said before in reference to being 90’s fashion trendsetters that he just dressed like his Dad did in Dickies and work shirts.1 point

Idk if anyone’s brought this up yet, but does anyone remember an interview a while back where Billie talked about being a teenager and how his style was “a bucket of bleach on my head and I wore my dad’s old pants” not to be bad taste but you think the line “I got my clothes from a dead man’s closet” bit of a reference?1 point

Breaking news: Professional musicians want to make money! There’s virtually no money in streaming, which is why physical media is pushed so hard by record labels today. There’s a deluxe edition of most albums these days along with tons of vinyl variants for a reason. It’s a standard industry practice at this point. Anyway, I’ve been around Green Day long enough to know a lot of their b-sides are just okay. And that’s fine. They’re just very good at curating what goes on their main albums. I’ll never be mad at getting more Green Day than I expected.1 point

Every song on Saviors has a similar style visualizer video. I don't even think it's a "single", it's just a Deluxe pre-release track and they're not gonna make much money off of it at all. They didn't give an announcement for the song's release prior to releasing it, they just released it alongside the announcement of the Deluxe album. Idk what point you're trying to make. The band hasn't said anything about the song, they announced it on social media and YouTube and even there they didn't make any statement about the quality of the new tracks but also even if they did, they're not gonna say "Yeah these tracks are pretty mid. Listen if you want". They're trying to promote a deluxe version of their latest album.1 point
