  3. Honestly as a DVM player, there is a secret mission named One Eyed Devil where you need to kill Kyklops. Maybe they don't want to spoil is apparition in the TV Series?

  7. The band made the announcement via instagram and deleted it 30 minutes later Mike Dirnt admitted, "I’ve always loved a good fiddle solo. I think it’s time for a little twang in our sound." Tre Cool said, "The rhythm of the banjo is so much more laid-back than the drums. It’s like we’re finally slowing down and embracing a new side of life." The band also teased their upcoming album. The first single, "Short Glance (No More Longview)," promises to be a blend of traditional country with no hints of their punk roots. Billie Joe said, "We’ll always remember our roots, but it’s time for a change. To all our die-hard punk fans out there – now we will no longer wear leather jackets, but a plaid shirt, and we’ll be wearing boots, not Converse. Thanks for the memories." april fools

  8. Definitely American Idiot for me. Everything about the aesthetics and the look of the era is perfect. The red and black. The hand grenade. The red ties. The eyeliner!!!

  13. I got this email too. I also did see the comments on Reddit about it possibly being an April Fool's prank, and somehow that feels likely to me LOL.

  14. No need to apologize . That's what is beautiful about people: everyone has a different opinion. Never let someone get you down for an opinion. I guess I was feeling sarcastic when I replied to your opinion the other day loll Billie was still hot in the Kerplunk era

  17. 31 March On this day in 2013, Green Day played the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, PA on the 99 Revolutions Tour. Well, this was one of the best shows I’ve ever been to and it also gave me one of my best Green Day stories. I went to a few American shows on the 99 Revolutions Tour – Rosemont, this one and Philly. A girl sang Longview and when it was time for her to stage dive, Billie gestured for the crowd to put their hands up to catch her, but noticed that I was in the firing line and told me to cover my face. The venue security pulled my hands away and told me to put them up. Should have done what Billie said. The girl jumped awkwardly and landed boots-down on my face. There was blood everywhere, my glasses were broken, and security were fussing around me with ice and water. At first I thought I was fine and the staff were overreacting. Billie and I exchanged thumbs-up and the band started Basket Case. The next thing I knew, I thought I was in my bed at home, dreaming about seeing Green Day in Pittsburgh. I woke up in the first aid area with blood still gushing from my nose. A paramedic asked how I felt. I said I was disappointed I’d lost my barrier spot and asked if I could go back into the pit. She laughed and said that was what the last person said, but no, I was not going anywhere. I watched the rest of the show from the first aid box in a daze. Once the show ended, Eddie (the band’s head of security at the time and one of the loveliest people I’ve ever met) approached me with something and said, ‘Mike wanted me to give you this.’ It was the jacket he’d been wearing for the last few shows. Tre had also passed on a drumstick. I exclaimed, ‘really?!’ Eddie laughed and replied, ‘yes, really.’ I thanked Mike for the jacket on Instagram later and he replied, ‘you gals looked like you were having so much fun! Glad they got you my jacket! XX’ Everyone has always said they’re sorry I got knocked out but there’s no need to be. It was hilarious! I might have been gutted if the concussion had stopped me going to the next show, but I didn’t even consider it – the resilience of an 18 year-old determined to see their favourite band is quite something 😂 I even hammered the glasses back into shape and wore them for another year. The scar lasted a while but it’s gone now. On 31 March 2002, Green Day played the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. On 31 March 1998, Green Day played a second night at the UNSW Roundhouse in Sydney, Australia on the Nimrod Tour.

  19. 30 March On this day in 2017, Green Day played the Resch Center in Green Bay, WI on the Revolution Radio Tour. Someone gave that jacket to Billie. He had his own made afterwards and wore it for Still Breathing and Forever Now for the rest of the tour. This was one of my favourite shows ever. I actually still have a clear memory of Forever Now and how I had both arms in the air, screaming at the top of my lungs and jumping until I couldn't breathe. Made some good memories at those arenas in the middle of nowhere. More photos: On 30 March 2009, Depression Times by Rodeo Queens (Green Day and Jesse Malin) was recorded. On 30 March 1998, Green Day played the UNSW Roundhouse in Sydney, Australia on the Nimrod Tour. On 30 March 1991, Green Day played the Phoenix Theatre in Petaluma, CA.

  20. 29 March On this day in 2013, Green Day played the iWireless Center in Moline, IL on the 99 Revolutions Tour. Photo by Katie McPansy Grogan On 29 March 2002, Green Day played the Hokkaidoritsu Sogo Taiikukan in Sapporo, Japan. On 29 March 1994, Green Day played First Avenue in Minneapolis, MN on the Dookie Tour. 'Green Day, March 1994. I bought tickets well in advance. They were $4. The week before the show Longview blew up and was all over MTV. (Remember when they played videos?) The buzz and anticipation inside was at a fever pitch. You could tell they were on the verge of getting huge. Every song turned into a sing-along, even though it was clear that half the room only bought Dookie in the past month.' — Robert, fan On 29 March 1990, Green Day played Marsugi's in San Jose, CA. 😂 No, it was a fresh shower gel kind of smell. I've heard lots of people saying Billie smells unwashed but he didn't.

  22. Tricky but possibly 21CBD era for me. For those of you who don’t visit the fangirl thread, Billie in those striped trousers just does something in my head which blows all the other great looks, cool shirts, hair styles etc out if the water for me.

  23. Oh yes please. And even another Bullet in a Bible maybe. And this time uncut thank you very much. Having been there, although made up being able to relive Milton Keynes, tad disappointed all the bits they left out. Still always get goosebumps every time I watch it. So lucky, lucky, lucky. Truly privileged blessed, and humbled, to see GD live through 4 decades. Green Day I love you so much.

  24. 28 March On this day in 2017, Green Day played the State Farm Center in Champaign, IL on the Revolution Radio Tour. You know you're about to get an essay. It was my mum's birthday, so I'd bought her a VIP ticket. I had a peasant ticket so I went in later and managed to get a spot behind her, but the VIP next to her randomly said she was going to find her son, smiled and ushered me into her spot beside my mum. The venue staff member in front of us (Scott, I think) was lovely, albeit baffled and amused by the weirdos who flew from England just to see Green Day in Champaign. Against Me are one of my favourite bands so seeing them open for Green Day was incredible. I wasn't going crazy or anything when Billie asked for someone to Know Your Enemy, just holding up one hand, but he picked me. Scott smiled like a proud dad as he helped Arturo (one of Green Day's crew) haul me out. I promptly went the wrong way and fell over. Billie was like, 'YO!' I'd never experienced stage fright as a kid, but when I turned and saw 16,000 faces staring at me it was TERRIFYING. Billie was beaming and beckoning. I ran down the catwalk grinning like a creature from a horror movie despite the fear, and Billie gave me a warm, genuine hug that made me feel better. I was still kind of frozen, so he kept one hand on my back and the other on my hand holding the mic until I sang the 'gimme gimme revolution' part and the pyros went off. That was pretty cool. The photo above was taken just after that. I was terrified yet again when it was time to stage dive, but it was actually just fun, not scary at all. I made that collage back then. Sadly there's only that one professional photo of me onstage, but I look hideous in every fan photo and video, so maybe it's for the best 😂 People congratulated and high-fived me when I landed. Later, Billie picked one of my sweetest Green Day friends to play guitar for Knowledge. A guy who'd bought me a beer yelled 'that sure beats what you did' and I was just screaming, 'THAT'S MY FRIEND CAITLIN! She's amazing!' He was like, 'you actually know her?! No way!' On the way out, people kept excitedly running up to me and I thought they were going to ask what it was like in general, but no... they all asked what Billie smelled like. That was the last thing on my mind 😂 But the answer was pine. I saw Scott again and he hugged and congratulated me. Everyone was so nice. The next day I was watching videos in a stranger's tent in the snow in Wisconsin and trying not to cry. Good times. Some other photos: On 28 March 2013, Green Day played the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, IL on the 99 Revolutions Tour. It was the first rescheduled arena show after Billie went to rehab and also the first time Bohemian Rhapsody was played before the show. I went to a few shows in the US in 2013, starting with this one. I went so insane when Stray Heart started that it made Billie laugh. Hearing that was obviously a highlight, but Stay the Night, X-Kid and Brutal Love were highlights too. If you want to watch a random video of X-Kid, this is a good one. Felt like my heart shattered when Billie's voice cracked because it was such an emotional performance. On 28 March 1998, Green Day were on Recovery TV in Melbourne, Australia – that time when they ran off from the interview, snatched the house instruments to play The Grouch, and got thrown out afterwards. More pics: They also played the ANU Bar & Refectory in Canberra, Australia. On 28 March 1992, Green Day played 924 Gilman Street.
