  1. When Billie played that bit of Corvette Summer there was a collective gasp and that little shit knew exactly what he'd done when it didn't continue 😂 I have to admit I didn't recognise Pollyanna. I don't think I've even listened to it in full. #FakeFan 😤 I could tell I was in the company of fellow ADHDers because Billie kept playing random chords and Tre tapped away at his drums whenever there was a lull 😂 Now I've had some sleep I can't believe that was all an actual thing I experienced. Green Day were probably onstage for a maximum of 3 of the 12 hours we were all there - there was a lot of waiting around and we had to leave to eat then go back in - but it was a unique and unforgettable experience for sure. The local fans were so nice 🥰 The lady next to me had never seen Green Day and said she was a reasonably casual fan, but after the first song she was like, 'this is the best day ever!' Pretty sure it's OK to comment on random impromptu bits of songs because they didn't have anything to do with the film... it says we can't post 'material in connection with the Picture,' not the event itself.

  2. So, for the last half year or so I've been struggling with kinda poor mental health, some days better, some worse, but all in all not great. Thus, when I got to visit San Francisco (and Oakland/Berkeley) recently as part of my job, I was delighted. I did a mini GD-related tour of the bay area and it cheered me up tremendously and also made me grateful for, despite everything, having been able to do have done this. I often felt like a small kid truth be told haha very nerdy I know but, especially being from Europe, it was really cool Chinatown in San Francisco Ashby/Longview house in Berkeley No explanation needed "Jesus filling out paperwork now, at the facility on East 12th Street" - (view from BART train, Oakland near Fruitvale St) Also rode past the warehouse on 7th street near West Oakland Station (Welcome To Paradise), no pic of that though, I was too slow. Oakland's Fox Theatre and The Warfield in San Francisco (guys give us the full concert man, please, I'm begging ya) this part of San Fran (Mission District) has changed a lot but it's where the scene of the guys walking in When I Come Around was filmed (at night), I also passed through Powell station, also seen in that video. It's probably my favourite Green Day music video so seeing the filming locations was very cool and a few other bits and bobs Btw there's been much talk about San Francisco's social problems at the moment and they are definitely noticeable right in the city centre (the infamous Tenderloin district and adjacent areas), but it is still a beautiful and vibrant city in my view, with a lot to offer, not least great public transport for US standards, interesting topography and a lot of variety in terms of the different neighbourhoods, plus great walkability. Needless to say I enjoyed my stay there and would love to visit again at some point.

  4. (I am probably preaching to the choir here, so apologies in advanced lol) Does anyone else think that Billie Joe's voice is just sooo releasing? I was listening to Tre (the album) last night and right when I pressed play and Brutal Love began, I started to cry. His voice is just so soothing and just what I needed.

  5. One of the many, many contributions to civilization provided to us by Degrassi: The Next Generation is proving that this statement is false.

  6. You know you need more sleep when you think this is going to be Billie in a painting of Birth of Venus. 😄

  7. Super awkward. I think Billie was passed out behind them or something.

  8. There's a CD bootleg of an IEM + audience matrix, in case anyone's interested. There will be threads for both Yokohama shows as well

  9. On this day 29 years ago (26 March 1996), Green Day played the Sportovni Hala in Prague, Czech Republic on the Insomniac Tour. 31 years ago (26 March 1994), Green Day played Saint Andrew's Hall in Detroit, MI on the Dookie Tour. 33 years ago (26 March 1992), Green Day played the Cotati Cabaret in Cotati, CA.

  10. That was fun. I think I'm allowed to say that Green Day played 4-5 songs for the fans in between takes. The filming was cool but those songs were the best bits. Billie threw lots of guitar picks with questions like: 'What's my favourite colour?' 'What number is on my mind right now?' 'What is my dog's name?' 'Who has the most spikes in their hair?' He didn't actually wait for anyone to answer. He just threw them at the first people he saw 😂 He also announced 'oof, my back' twice. Mike kept telling us we were killing it. The first time they played a song just for fun, Tre refused to play more when Billie asked because he didn't want to get sweaty. The barrier was mostly filled with hired actors but some fans got onto it in the centre and I got onto it past Mike, towards the end with some of the lovely ladies I met in the queue. There's such a small gap between the barrier and stage at the Palladium that I felt almost as close as I did when I was technically closer at stadiums. I can't believe I was still jumping at the end considering the jet lagged state I'm in 😂 If I remember more that I can share I will, but I need to sleep now.

  12. As always with ''Trilogy as one album'' posts, I dislike them heavily due to fans dictating what song is shit and what isn't while forgetting that Trilogy albums have clear themes: Uno! is party starter, Dos! is in the party and Tre! is hangover. Truth is that all Trilogy songs (except Lazy Bones that is clearly misplaced in Dos!, it should've been in Tre!) are important for their respective themes what albums represent. Nightlife wouldn't work on Uno! for example nor does it work as individual song, but in full album listen it's groovy and fun to listen at. The Forgotten is one of the weakest ballads Green Day has ever released, but it serves as great album and Trilogy closer. I could go on and on. Trilogy should never be just one album, even if there are some clear fillers. I love every single song and I think they're all equal. See You Tonight/Fuck Time starter to the album is the second best opener to album Green Day has made. So clever and fun.

  13. So jealous of everyone who got to be an extra! What a cool experience! That being said, I have no idea why I can't get excited for this movie. I saw so much news about it on Insta and I just didn't care Maybe when we get closer to its release I'll care, maybe I'm just thinking about Ordinary World and how mid that was. Maybe I just want them to come back to Chicago. To a small venue. Called my house. Green Day come play my house I have a cute dog. Please and thank you.

  17. hypothetically speaking. Song of the Century is the first song to have never been played live (unless both Uptight sightings are false and they also never did Babs during the same shows as Panic Song)

  21. I'm missing you! Remember the joke we told? rumors from a long, long time ago.... I can't wait for this forum to get cranking again, even though I know it might be a while. Maybe the movie will get us all stirred up again and then some time after that we can get some ALBUM 15 tidbits flying. Green Day could joke around that Saviors is the last album and then BAM. Stuff starts up again.

  25. I saw that setlist and was laughing, because, what's one of the number one songs people say they never want to see live again? So they play it a dozen times. 😄 Of course, I'm guessing it's relevant to the movie, like the kids "knowing their enemy."

  31. Jaimie. You’re the son of the frontman for LINKIN PARK. If being really popular = sellout to you, then, I hate to break it to ya, but your father and his buddies were HUGE sellouts. (P.S. god rest you Chester you were gone too soon LK is great)

  32. Nothing new there…. I see that kind of bashing on Instagram every day. Combined with calling them sellouts and looking like lesbians, etc. It’s always the same…😕

  34. They would always talk about Hitchin a Ride as if it was sexual even before Billie started doing that, like describing it as a song to move your hips to or saying "if this song doesn't teach you how to fuck I don't know what will" before playing it lol. Maybe it's the rhythm of it plus the way it's like a "climax" at the end

  35. Going by this map north seems to be Mike's side, and South Jason White's side. If I remember correctly from the European Tour thread, people who've been to this venue before said this is only for entrance to the venue, but that there are no actual divisions between the two sides on the floor.
