This is what I was thinking too. They have such an extensive catalog of their own songs, that even if they just stick to singles and greatest hits they'd still have enough for a full 2h playlist. So I don't know why they "waste time" in their shows with covers. As a fan, I'd rather they switch it for one of their own songs. But I guess it's precisely that, that they have fun playing it.

Any chance they played it to get the crowd going? Like sometimes festival crowds aren't quite as receptive?

But Rock and Roll All Nite is back, they must like to play it but they have so many better songs of their own I’d rather hear!

Didn‘t wanna say it here on GDC but I‘m glad Tom told the truth. So, now I’m allowed to say I wrote Jesus of Suburbia when I was 13.

I haven't seen any mention of it on Instagram, so I think someone was either trolling or confused 🤷‍♀️ I was just on a video call with to my partner when he joined one of his colleagues who went to the show last night, and of course I asked him about the show. The guy is a pretty casual listener (he felt the need to inform me they closed with Time of Your Life how cute is that?), but he was converted. "They played song after song! and they had so much energy! It was just amazing!" He sounded still really hyped and really happy about the show. I felt proud ☺️

setlist is up to 24 and is now sorted in order (so now the order is TADIKM -> Dookie Singles -> others, now including Rock N Roll and Still Breathing -> AI -> Bobby/Good Riddance instead of it being all shoved around) now according to setlist.fm (t heir source: someone who was there) still wonder what the deal is with 86 then, i wonder if it was teased at one point and whoever initially put it on setlist fm got it confused with an actual play?? IDK but Welcome To Paradise and Saint Jimmy also took a longtime to be added to both setlistfm and the live guide for the previous "night" of this festival soooooo who knows

What's crazier is five years ago today I traveled out to St. Louis to stand in the cold to see Green Day's pre-NHL All star performance where I met @pacejunkie punk and @Jon Benjamin. If you watch the broadcast version, you can spot me in the crowd 😳
