  3. What a year it's been! We're so lucky the band is still putting out music this damn good and killing it live night after night.

  4. Haven't stopped listening since it came out and don't think I will for a long time! Agree it's been such a great era! Beautiful album and phenomenal live shows

  5. I was bumping Saviors yesterday and it still holds up. Listening to it makes me smile. Everything about the era was amazing, especially after FOAM, which came out at the worst time.

  6. If they'll play it in LA (for the webstream) and in Florence when I'll see them, I'll be very happy

  7. I've never questioned it. I just...appreciate it I first experienced this when watching Bullet in a Bible. I got it for Xmas that year. After we opened gifts I raced to my room to watch it. I was SHOOK when we got to HAR. But when Billie started with the moaning I rushed to mute the TV so my mom wouldn't walk in questioning what the hell she just bought for me When I saw GD in 2016 during the RevRad club tour he did a tamer version. He didn't go full on the floor but there was crotch touching and some "ooos."

  9. I'm feeling awfully sorry for myself for not being in Cape Town right now, so I decided to splurge a bit and get myself a VIP to the Lux show (after stalking the resales official sites with not luck for a month in search of a normal ticket), only to find out the VIPs are sold out now too šŸ™ƒ I guess I'll continue stalking the resales and feeling sorry for myself for the time being

  11. I also thought that I didn’t like LNOE that much but after seeing the video from yesterday’s show I must admit that it’s impressive. And I find it interesting under the aspect that many people say that Billieā€˜s voice isn’t as good any more as in 2009/2010. I think yesterday’s recording shows the contrary as far as LNOE is concerned. I would really like to hear it in Vienna as well. AND Fancy Sauceā€¦šŸ˜‰ Maybe they included LNOE in the setlist because of the LA support video, assuming that that song is now trending…

  12. I know, I get it. I've been dying to see Fancy Sauce live, and now they throw Last Night On Earth in there which I know a lot of fans are excited about but, come on, it had its time already (and it was never in my favorites, sorry). But we'll see, this setlist might still evolve. I remember last year year in the first show they played there were only 2 songs from Saviors, and then they progressively added more as they got more comfortable with the setlist. By the third show we got TADIKM, Look Ma, OYB, Dilemma and Bobby, which became the standard afterwards. Maybe we'll see something like this again.

  13. Same. I think it's the setlist we can expect for the rest of the year since usually they don't change the scheme. So it will be Hella Mega American Dookie with 1 or 2 deep cuts. And of course, festivals, mixed audience - I get it, but we hear something like that since 2022 Just give us Nimrod, Insomniac and RevRad, you cowards

  14. Was this a festival show? I think it was a solo show. And they did 3 Saviors songs (TADIKM, Dilemma and Bobby Sox), but I still see your point. It doesn't come as a shock to me that at countries where they have never played before, or haven't played in decades, they'll want to go for a "greatest hits" sort o playlist. Same for festivals, unfortunately, where the crowd is a mix of people and not just fans. And since they are not in the habit of changing a lot the setlist between shows, I think it might be the same of for their few solo shows in Europe, maybe just one or two additional songs. They're still playing most of AI though, and after the incredible tour they put on last year, I cannot complain about a leaner setlist this time around.

  15. Negative opinion incoming: If this is the setlist for the rest of the "festival tour" this year I will be very dissapointed. Just 2 Saviors songs, and for those of us attending a festival this year it will feel like a "Hella Mega 2.0".. šŸ˜”

  16. One year later, I wonder if we'll get any Saviors leftovers like Fever finally being released outside of Japan, and whatever this song was going to be

  19. The things we do (and continue to do) for this band. Worth all the pain and discomfort. Meeting new awesome people is just the icing on the cake šŸ™‚

  20. Same! I haven't really stopped listening to it since it came out, and it's still amazing. It's been a great year for Green Day and for Green Day fans.

  21. Has it been a year already? Jeez, that doesn’t seem possible. Think it’s safe to say Saviors is very solid work. It doesn’t reinvent the wheel but coming after FOAM it was a needed return to form. Good production, good writing, good tour.

  22. That was back in 2010 (I think). They tend not to broadcast the rock awards during the ceremony anymore. Sometimes they'll mention winners during the red carpet/pre-ceremony portion.

  25. I was hoping they’d play LNOE since the new KROQ version is getting attention and play. This means I’m sure they’ll play it at the LA benefit now so we should get a good quality video of it from the livestream

  26. Glad to see they might be keeping Novacaine. Surprised to see Last Night on Earth added in the mix there. For the love guys, Fancy Sauce.

  28. Today (19 January 2025), Green Day played the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa on the Saviors Tour. More photos: On this day last year (19 January 2024), Saviors and the Bobby Sox video were released. (You may or may not have noticed that I got that wrong yesterday ) They also played at Rough Trade in NYC that day. More photos: 8 years ago (19 January 2017), Green Day played the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin, Germany on the Revolution Radio Tour. More photos: 20 years ago (19 January 2005), Green Day played Le ZƩnith in Paris, France on the American Idiot Tour. 23 years ago (19 January 2002), Green Day played the Winter X-Games at the Double Diamond in Aspen, CO. It was their first show that year. More photos: 24 years ago (19 January 2001), Green Day played The Classic Center in Athens, GA on the Warning Tour. 29 years ago (19 January 1996), Green Day played the Matsushita IMP Hall in Osaka, Japan on the Insomniac Tour. This photo was actually taken the night before at the London Graffiti bar in Osaka. Billie went crazy dancing when Basket Case and Rancid songs were played. 32 years ago (19 January 1993), Green Day played The 8x10 in Baltimore, MD. 34 years ago (19 January 1991), Green Day played 924 Gilman Street. 35 years ago (19 January 1990), Green Day played Marsugi's in San Jose, CA.

  31. What's crazier is five years ago today I traveled out to St. Louis to stand in the cold to see Green Day's pre-NHL All star performance where I met @pacejunkie punk and @Jon Benjamin. If you watch the broadcast version, you can spot me in the crowd 😳

  37. Tragic and beautiful. I hope they play the song at the Fire Aid benefit show. It’s interesting too how Green Day songs have the tendency to get reinterpreted to become metaphors for national tragedies. First WMUWSE for 9/11 and now LNOE for this. Two beautiful ballads that were repurposed. In a way, you can say Good Riddance was too the way it became an anthem for proms, graduations and other milestone events.

  38. It’s hard to put the collective feeling into words. It’s harder to understand how and why this all happened because it happened at such an accelerated pace just when everyone was stepping into a new year with a lot of hope for good things to come. This is where music always comes through. We summoned the sentiment of this Green Day song whose lyrics convey what we are seeing at the heart of Southern California, at the core of everyone who might lose everything, and that is, there is never an absence of love. We thought hearing the voices of LA sewn into the message of the song would drive the point home. Los Angeles is the city of angels and it’s ours and we’ll be here to get it all back, because we are Los f**king Angeles. Hear our version of ā€œLast Night on Earthā€ now playing on KROQ https://www.facebook.com/watch?v=1318516069347180 https://fb.watch/xaTBrhC5jK/

  39. He's been creative finding new things to do with it lol. Full on animal noises here Could be acting but I've heard reports of him doing things like getting his dick out and wrapping it around the mic stand during Dookie times so anything is possible

  40. There was a video (that I wish I could find again for science 😊) that someone posted on Instagram years ago that was definitely 21CB because Billie had the striped pants on. Anyway, it was filmed from a fan in the front row, he’s lying on his back on the floor, knees up and rubbing his crotch until he full body shudders and I swear it looked like he actually came in his pants. I’ve seen all the fake HAR moaning but this looked real.
