It took me years to get a live used guitar from one of the Reverb sales, but i finally got one. London vintage guitars received the BJ junior in a trade from the original buyer, and they posted it for sale. They accepted my offer and i got it. I asked about the guitar before purchasing, and i was told it all original including the dirty strings Billie played, which is what i wanted. The guitar has tons of body checking on the front and back, and there is dried up dirt/sweat on the front of the body and pickguard. Some interesting things about the guitar i found after months of searching: The guitar was used for a handful of shows and only for the song Forever Now The nut had a little piece added after a few shows, which helped photo match the guitar to a few photos Billie added the "BJ" stickers after a few shows, which he moved around a few times The guitar was used for the private KROQ "Green Day plays your garage" show The guitar was on set for the "Back in the USA" music video I have attached photos i took of the guitar, the Reverb COA signed by Billie, and some photos of Billie using the guitar on tour. Enjoy!11 points

It’s hard to put the collective feeling into words. It’s harder to understand how and why this all happened because it happened at such an accelerated pace just when everyone was stepping into a new year with a lot of hope for good things to come. This is where music always comes through. We summoned the sentiment of this Green Day song whose lyrics convey what we are seeing at the heart of Southern California, at the core of everyone who might lose everything, and that is, there is never an absence of love. We thought hearing the voices of LA sewn into the message of the song would drive the point home. Los Angeles is the city of angels and it’s ours and we’ll be here to get it all back, because we are Los f**king Angeles. Hear our version of “Last Night on Earth” now playing on KROQ https://www.facebook.com/watch?v=1318516069347180 https://fb.watch/xaTBrhC5jK/6 points

Billie's back and in Johannesburg with Tre and Mike "Why hello Johannesburg 🇿🇦"5 points

Tragic and beautiful. I hope they play the song at the Fire Aid benefit show. It’s interesting too how Green Day songs have the tendency to get reinterpreted to become metaphors for national tragedies. First WMUWSE for 9/11 and now LNOE for this. Two beautiful ballads that were repurposed. In a way, you can say Good Riddance was too the way it became an anthem for proms, graduations and other milestone events.4 points

I hope they attend to at least perform even if the rock categories aren't broadcasted (which is bullshit).3 points

I'm glad he's back for the tour! I hope this means we'll continue to get the videos the morning after the shows.3 points

"Back in '93, I saw Green Day at the old City Gardens in Trenton. Low ceiling, dead of winter, slush everywhere on the floor. A fight broke out just to the left of the stage, and in the middle of the song, Billie Joe took off his guitar, jumped in the middle, and kicked the shit out of the kid that started the whole thing." — notJames "In live recordings from Green Day's first show ever at City Gardens, Billie Joe Armstrong can be heard exclaiming, 'This is the biggest crowd that we have ever played in front of,' and, 'we've never had monitors before,' and after the first Green Day concert at City Gardens, drummer Tre Cool kisses promoter Randy Now on the cheek due to them making literally quadruple their original guarantee and their total merchandise sales at that one venue topping four figures for the first time in their career. They left City Gardens by trashing the dressing room as a 'rite of rock and roll passage' or a 'badge-of-honor and victory', thinking they were The Who. Another interesting trivia fact with Green Day and City Gardens is after Green Day's first appearance at the club, and having traveled cross country from California, punk rock agent Andy Somers got wind of this career-changing concert performance in Jersey from this band out of California, and phoned from his Hollywood agency office City Gardens promoter Randy Now, asking him, 'Hey, Randy. Andy here. What's this Green Day band all about?' and gave Somers the phone contact information which he used to pursue Green Day to become one of his clients, which they did. This started a relationship that would lead Green Day to be one of the headlining acts at the twenty-fifth anniversary of Woodstock." 33 years ago (17 January 1992), Green Day played 924 Gilman Street. ------------------------ 18 January 2025 On this day last year (18 January 2024), Green Day played Irving Plaza in NYC. Because they don’t do the rock categories during the broadcast maybe Green Day aren’t going to attend. Then again, we know they’re in town for the Aid concert so if they are going I’m surprised they haven’t announced it yet2 points

It’s just a big party and the vibes are really chilled, which is what I love the most! haha it’s definately the way 😂2 points

Thanks. I'll check the day after the show, if the stream is available and a recording isn't available in the meantime1 point

Hey! Cool that you're on here! I loved that everyone was dancing, and because it's not the kind of music for moshing etc it was just perfect amount of energy in the crowd to move and dance but nothing too crazy. Awesome. My brother has never bothered to queue early to get near the front before but now he's converted1 point

It was such a good show!! Awww I love you guys 🥰 I loved us dancing together & I'm so glad you went too! It was lovely to see you too Hermione - we met briefly at Wembley! You did amazingly ❤️ The highlight for me was definately Surrender - it's been in my head constantly! Very glad it was Billie this time round haha. But hearing Love is For Losers makes me lose my shit, I didn't think I'd get to hear it again! I'm so grateful 🥹💜 I loved spending the evening with you too - it's like we all emerge as fans to be a family for the for Green Day (et al) gigs ❤️1 point

Just remembered how Billie read a sign someone was holding saying they can play guitar on Bowie and said "sorry we already played Bowie" and then one second later played All the Young Dudes (not technically Bowie but damn ) Also it was sweet how he dedicated the last song to the California wild fire victims1 point

Absolutely, so cool to see him just enjoying playing songs he likes and stepping back whenever Jason was singing lead Another important detail: he was wearing skinny jeans1 point
-
He looked so handsome at the show. 🥹 I have a particular thing for watching him play these shows rather than Green Day shows — he’s not in frontman mode as much, he’s just chill hanging back and playing guitar. It’s really cool to see.1 point

Excellent! Yeah I loved the laid back/low key vibe, totally different to GD. It was a bit awkward that the "Billie fucking Joe" chant happened to start right before Jason was about to sing a song, luckily saved it with "Jason fucking White" afterwards Hot To Go thing was hilarious. Also when Jason restarted Last Nite. Jason totally rocked! And it was cool how Billie kept doing little changes/experiments when playing, my brother noticed Chris and Bill being amused by some of them lol1 point
-
Yes so nice to see you again! Glad you got a good spot, we wound up on bill’s side second row. And yes so much banter lol. “Shhh I’m trying to tune!” I love how he’s not on rockstar mode during coverups shows and gets bashful when the name chanting starts haha Oh I’m so glad someone got the whole thing, such a cute moment!1 point

The only situation in which anyone is excited about Milton Keynes 😂1 point

Love is for Losers aside, I'm so happy they played Ever Fallen In Love and Summer of 69 again! And Teenage Kicks, even if Billie did refuse to play it a second time 😤 I shouted "NO!" when he said it was their last song (and of course several others shouted it too) and that was when he said "but we don't know anything else" 😂 There was so much funny banter! The Speedways were really good too. So glad there wasn't a special guest onstage with The Coverups though. We got to hear Billie singing Surrender instead of Courtney Love1 point
