Just remembered how Billie read a sign someone was holding saying they can play guitar on Bowie and said "sorry we already played Bowie" and then one second later played All the Young Dudes (not technically Bowie but damn ) Also it was sweet how he dedicated the last song to the California wild fire victims6 points

Absolutely, so cool to see him just enjoying playing songs he likes and stepping back whenever Jason was singing lead Another important detail: he was wearing skinny jeans6 points

He looked so handsome at the show. 🥹 I have a particular thing for watching him play these shows rather than Green Day shows — he’s not in frontman mode as much, he’s just chill hanging back and playing guitar. It’s really cool to see.5 points

I think because he’s so incredible at his day job (at the last GD show I went to I literally thought mid-concert “He’s so good at his job!” lol), it makes it all that much more interesting to see him in a more relaxed setting where he can hang back and jam. Because we know he can command a room no problem, it’s neat to see his quiet confidence in a more subdued role. For whatever reason I think it’s so cool (and very attractive) to just see him play guitar. That said, as time goes on I really do think Frontman Billie has become less of a performance and more like Regular Billie, which I love.4 points

this is hella zoomed in but I had to take a pic toward the end that showed his floofy hair had gone into a bit of a Sabrina carpenter style fringe by that point 🤣 it still had plenty of bounce tho!4 points

Hey! Cool that you're on here! I loved that everyone was dancing, and because it's not the kind of music for moshing etc it was just perfect amount of energy in the crowd to move and dance but nothing too crazy. Awesome. My brother has never bothered to queue early to get near the front before but now he's converted3 points

It was such a good show!! Awww I love you guys 🥰 I loved us dancing together & I'm so glad you went too! It was lovely to see you too Hermione - we met briefly at Wembley! You did amazingly ❤️ The highlight for me was definately Surrender - it's been in my head constantly! Very glad it was Billie this time round haha. But hearing Love is For Losers makes me lose my shit, I didn't think I'd get to hear it again! I'm so grateful 🥹💜 I loved spending the evening with you too - it's like we all emerge as fans to be a family for the for Green Day (et al) gigs ❤️3 points
-
Agreed, I really prefer Green Day but it is something special, feels like he’s just himself though I think in full on Green Day he’s an extraordinary frontman. ❤️3 points

That Kerrang review @luketrebilliemike posted above is great, go read it if you haven’t. If @Rumpelstiltskin2000 thought she was gushing, read Ian Winwood’s thoughts. 😂3 points

They’re the best. 🩷 What a great event to throw together so quickly. Thrilled it’ll be streaming, yay!3 points

Excellent! Yeah I loved the laid back/low key vibe, totally different to GD. It was a bit awkward that the "Billie fucking Joe" chant happened to start right before Jason was about to sing a song, luckily saved it with "Jason fucking White" afterwards Hot To Go thing was hilarious. Also when Jason restarted Last Nite. Jason totally rocked! And it was cool how Billie kept doing little changes/experiments when playing, my brother noticed Chris and Bill being amused by some of them lol3 points

It’s just a big party and the vibes are really chilled, which is what I love the most! haha it’s definately the way 😂2 points

Just wanted to come back after some sleep and say again just how fun this was. It was my first time seeing the Cover Ups (had a ticket for last year but wasn't well enough to go and gave my ticket to a friend) I didn't want it to end and could have danced all night. I'm so happy I was able to make it through the show after the last few years of barely being able to walk. The guys sounded so good and gave it their all including Chris who Billie said had been drinking since 6 am 😂 Absolutely loved Suffragette City, American Girl, Should I stay or should I go, Message of Love, Million Miles away and of course Love is for losers - honestly everything. One of security kindly gave me Jason's setlist. The Speedway's were a great opening act. I briefly spoke to them at the end and they gave me their promo CD. Go listen to them now! Saw loads of people I hadn't seen in years and I hadn't rocked out so hard since I don't remember when. All in all amazing evening and so happy to spend it with @solongfromthestars @palestardust and another friend. Couldn't have done it without you 💖 I'd forgotten how much I'd missed going to gigs. I'll stop gushing now 😂 Next time I hope 💖2 points

Love is for Losers aside, I'm so happy they played Ever Fallen In Love and Summer of 69 again! And Teenage Kicks, even if Billie did refuse to play it a second time 😤 I shouted "NO!" when he said it was their last song (and of course several others shouted it too) and that was when he said "but we don't know anything else" 😂 There was so much funny banter! The Speedways were really good too. So glad there wasn't a special guest onstage with The Coverups though. We got to hear Billie singing Surrender instead of Courtney Love2 points

Yes so nice to see you again! Glad you got a good spot, we wound up on bill’s side second row. And yes so much banter lol. “Shhh I’m trying to tune!” I love how he’s not on rockstar mode during coverups shows and gets bashful when the name chanting starts haha Oh I’m so glad someone got the whole thing, such a cute moment!1 point

If you wanna come and stay for a week in my apartment and take good care of my cat, I could still go Trust me, even without a Green Day concert, missing out on a trip to South Africa is enough to give me FOMO. Add to that Green Day and... ugh.... the urge is strong.1 point

That's strong of you not to tag along. I'm not sure if I could've resisted1 point

So lovely to see some people here got to go and enjoy the show. @solongfromthestars and @Rumpelstiltskin2000 I'm glad you finally got to enjoy a full show together!! They did! https://www.instagram.com/reel/DE3VEctNgdV/?igsh=a2V6ZThrZnhtZWZs It was literally the last thing I saw last night before going to sleep so I had to search to find which of the Green Day fan accounts had posted it, Turns out that account (greendayinc) has A LOT of footage from the show in their instagram.1 point

It was so good to see you @Hermioneand to meet your brother. It was absolutely amazing and I had so much fun. I wanted to turn back and talk to you two more but I didn't dare let go of the barrier. Hope you get home safe and hope to see you again soon1 point

That was the best show of all the London ones so far!!! Everything sounded amazing, even Drain You which I despise. My feet were killing me but of course it didn't stop me "going feral" (someone else's description ) to Love is for Losers. Billie didn't "forget" the lyrics this time. Most of all I'm so happy that I finally got to dance and sing all night with @Rumpelstiltskin2000 after she had to leave the Wembley show. Other than a few people there was a lovely atmosphere queuing with @PaleStardust and another friend. Random people grabbed our hands and waved along. I almost couldn't be bothered when it was announced and I was so anxious on the day that I questioned whether it was worth it, but I'm SO glad I went. So glad we got to see you again and you got a good spot @Hermione I don't remember if we said goodbye!1 point

The show was so much fun omg! My brother and I got one back from barrier behind @solongfromthestars and @Rumpelstiltskin2000 with great view between Billie and Jason! Just a "regular" setlist I think but it was great, danced the whole time and it was just awesome watching them play up close https://imgur.com/6emTrSj It was a bit dumb that they didn't have an encore because it meant the crowd chanted for one and got disappointed (especially as it took ages for the lights to come on) but we thought it was funny 😆. Billie did state clearly that it was the last song to be fair.1 point
