  1. I’m glad to finally present my Green Day replica guitar. The guitar I decided to make is the Fender-built Blue from the 1997-98 nimrod tour (replicated as seen during Edgefest 1998, though not nearly as thrashed). This is the same guitar that now lives in the Punk Rock Museum. In my years of being a fan/gearhead, I’ve never seen anyone try to replicate this axe or any of the spare guitars from the nimrod tour. This is also my personal favorite Blue. Here are some photos. Enjoy! Before the stickers went down Final results! Special thanks to our band liaison @foxborohottub for sharing this photo of the original guitar in its retired state back in March 2020. Thank you Bill!

  3. 9 January 2025 On this day 32 years ago (9 January 1993), Green Day played the Antenna Club in Memphis, TN. ---------------------------------------- 10 January 2025 On this day 8 years ago (10 January 2017), Green Day played the Pala Alpitour in Turin, Italy on the Revolution Radio Tour. That was one of my wildest queuing experiences. It was –5ºC and I only had a £3 blanket from Sports Direct and an extra pair of jeans. Honestly thought I was going to die in the night. Don't regret it though. The recap I wrote (it's more camping than concert, but I'm sharing it all anyway): I made a documentary about Green Day fans for my final project at uni. It was eventually exhibited and three of the photos in the exhibition were from Turin (the top left, and the first two on the second row). More photos: 20 years ago (10 January 2005), Green Day played 12 songs on MTV in Berlin, Germany. More photos: 24 years ago (10 January 2001), Green Day played the Bronco Bowl in Dallas, TX on the Warning Tour. 33 years ago (10 January 1992), Green Day played Wehrschloss in Bremen, Germany. ---------------------------------------- 11 January 2025 On this day 8 years ago (11 January 2017), Green Day played the Nelson Mandela Forum in Florence, Italy on the Revolution Radio Tour. This was my favourite of the Italian shows and probably one of my favourite shows ever, actually. We got to the venue at about midday (and ironically 20+ people camped out there), so we were at the end of the barrier, but it was just magical. More photos: 20 years ago (11 January 2005), Green Day played the Treptow Arena in Berlin, Germany on the American Idiot Tour. More photos: 33 years ago (11 January 1992), Green Day played in Schüttorf, Germany. No excuse for being late this time except that I didn't want to upload all the photos to Tumblr.

Metallica’s James Hetfield Gives His Real Thoughts on Green Day https://audioinkradio.com/2025/01/metallica-james-hetfield-thoughts-green-day/ Green Day in Vienna: A rock legend returns The eagerly awaited return of the US rock band Green Day to Vienna is already causing a stir. On June 17, 2025, the multiple Grammy-winning musicians will perform at the Vienna Stadthalle, followed by an additional show on June 18, 2025. These concerts promise to be a highlight of the coming music year. https://aviation.direct/en/Green-Day-in-Vienna-a-rock-legend-returns Every success story needs a behind-the-scenes hero, and for Green Day, it was bassist Mike Dirnt. 5. Van Halen* does, for me at least. I heard Panama on the radio the other day and it still gets my blood pumping even after all these times listening to it. The energy and the bravado got captured on record perfectly. Those boys knew exactly how good they were and when the red light was on they knew how to bring it. *VH of course does not count any Sammy Hagar stuff. That’s another band entirely. I mean, everything is a matter of taste but they’re not exactly an intellectual band. It’s all feel. Of course it’s been said to death but Eddie was a virtuoso extraordinaire and that never fails to impress me. DLR was the frontman of ‘80s rock, dynamic to no end. A little goofy at times but take yourself too seriously and you end up being preachy like U2 on a bad day. There’s always like half the songs I could take or leave on any given album but when they hit, they hit hard. They could rock, natch, but even songs like Dance The Night Away and Little Guitars are sweet and betray a hidden softness that makes for an interesting dynamic. I think you’re selling them way short. Edit: Ahhh, I just can’t stop: Michael Anthony’s prowess on harmonies while also keeping an anchor steady bass at all times reminds me of a certain Dirnt-y someone. See stuff like Jamie’s Cryin’, Unchained, and Where Have All The Good Times Gone! to hear what I’m talking about. Okay, I’m done. Promise.

  6. I used to like Van Halen and the Pretenders but not sure their music holds up so well these days. Not listened to either in years.

  7. That was -6 btw @solongfromthestars!! Turin in 2017 was one of my favourite shows for sure having last seen the band at the Leeds Festival in August 2013. It was incredible and we met some lovely Italians there. One of the most special memories of it was hearing the soundcheck the night before. It was almost surreal. Stood in the freezing cold and being able to hear so clearly Billie belting out Still Breathing and stop starting Forever Now to test the pyros. Dancing along to King for a Day. Just awesome 💖 Photo of the line

  8. Remember that private charity concert that Green Day played a while back with The Who in the backyard of a Pacific Palisades home? It’s weird that that home is likely no longer standing.

  9. I'm hesitant to share this elsewhere as it would outrage a lot of folks. I've been listening to bands that Jillie Bow has mentioned and he has a taste that really is as good as the music he makes. But I've finally come to a band that I don't like. Maybe there's a reason Billie only name drops one album from these guys and it's......Van Halen. Man, I'm going through their catalogue and just about every single thing about it is terrible. Am I insane? Also, I'm dreading the Pretenders albums. They seem like they might be terrible as well. On a more positive note, the other bands Billie talks about are good. Gray Matter, Seven League Boots, Discord, 10,000 Maniacs, Poison Ideas, Motely Crue and Teenage Fanclub.

  14. I don’t know how long this has been a feature but I noticed we can now see when an Instagram account was created and how many username changes they’ve had. So I just had to revisit the SongsForAssholes account and I discovered that it was created in September 2013 with 1 previous username!!! When we all here thought it was created in 2019 to document the FOAM sessions within their inner circle!!! I wonder what this account was originally created for!! 🤔
