I love it! There's not a single bad song in it. And when on top of that you think they wrote and played these songs when they were 17-18 years old, and recorded them on basically zero budget, it becomes even more impressive. And sure, it doesn't have the lyrical depth of later albums, but again, 17!!3 points

For some reason, every time i go back and listen 39smooth it has a nostalgic feel to it, it takes me back to my teenage years.2 points

Yes, majorly! Trilogy is my favorite post-nimrod era. The emotions are so raw and real; the band wears their hearts on sleeves like never before nor since! dos is fun, sexy, and chaotic. There’s nothing else like it except maybe the tubbies. I like it more and more every year. my favorite from the trilogy will always be uno, but dos contains many surprises within! These guys played their hearts out on this one! Not to be prying or speculating too much, but it’s funny to think so many fans think lady cobra is the first girl he took an interest in after being married. Cmon the guys a sex magnet! Maybe I’m wrong, I just assume he can have anyone he wants any day of the week! King Billie and his wife love each other deeply time tells us that anyway. Sorry to be controversial I know I’m a terrible hooman for thinking this way! Happy new year2 points

On this day 32 years ago (6 January 1993), Green Day played the Backroom in Austin, TX. 33 years ago (6 January 1992), Green Day played Melkweg in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Four months left... I've got to finish it now I'm over halfway! I used to use the eyeliner a lot but never for the smoky look it was intended for, just when I was too lazy to do wings.2 points

He doesn't do this anymore but I'd like to know why he did it 😭 So back in the day he used to touch himself on stage during this song, anyone know why? And why has hitching a ride always been considered a sexual song? Maybe I'm just a stupid 12 year old, but I don't see anything sexual about the lyrics 😭 😭 Please tell me, and try not to type out a whole article in the comments. thank you for reading my post!! ps, here's a video of the performance if anyone one of you weirdos want to see it.. he always screamed 'SOMEBODY FUCK ME' at the end 💀1 point

Haha I mean I don’t think it is too early if you think about how big the venue is, I guess it just depends how close you want to be 👀 and I feel like I should absolutely refrain and not care about where I get but I know I’ll get fomo 🤣 I’ve just looked at my photos from last year and I was apparently number 32 in the queue and I got there about 12:30 I randomly already had this week booked off work which bodes well but my friend is working so I’m gonna be solo for a bit at least1 point

I love it, I listen to it as much as any other GD album and it's my favourite Trilogy album. The songs are fun and hot and love the Foxies vibe, but it's also honest writing from Billie as always and has darker and introspective moments too. See You Tonight into Fuck Time will always be the funniest album opening to me lol. And I really like Amy as the closer, acoustic songs are never my favourite but in the context of the album it works well. Was awesome seeing a couple of songs from it live (first time I heard them as it was before album was out and I'd avoided live recordings) at the most crazy and boiling hot show at Shepherds Bush, perfect place for them. My mum ruined it for me by telling me it sounds like he's saying "Actually", now that's how I always hear it . I prefer the Demolicious version, has a sleazier sound to it that suits it well.1 point

Dos is GD at their best and worst, so it's honestly still in my rotation (I usually just shuffle their songs at work).1 point

I think Amy works far better in the context of the album. It thematically makes perfect sense as the closer for this album and works as a nice bridge into the more reflective content of Tré. Although the album ending on Wow! That's Loud would be interesting too, considering how that song ends.1 point

The Trilogy sent me in a 10 year long sabbatical from Green Day land. I've revisited since I came back and I can now understand the headspace the band (and Billie in particular) was at, at the time, so I look at it with way kinder eyes that I had for it in my youth. What I would say about Dos in particular is that it has more good songs than either Uno or Tre (based on my taste at least), and the quality of the good songs in Dos is, in general, better than the good songs in the other two (although Tre has Brutal Love and that is simply the best). But the bad songs in Dos are worse than the bad songs in any of the other two. And for me, there are no average songs in Dos, no grey area, every song is either really good or really bad. And sorry, but I don't like Amy 😅 I see it has its fans here, but it's a hard pass for me.1 point

I still love this album. It's what it is but is still so catchy and it's incredible the guys were still so young when they made it1 point

On Reddit some people said it’s Billie’s granddaughter. Obviously Joey and his wife had a baby girl this summer.1 point

Thanks, it's so lucky he got them! He loves Green Day too so it'll be great. He's been to a lot of the same shows as us but we usually don't see him because he and his friends can't be bothered to queue for hours like us so he's always further back. I'm gonna make him go there earlier1 point

Holy shit my brother got tickets and he's taking me If anyone has to sell a ticket by any chance please hit me up! I feel bad for my sister not being able to go as we always go together. But I have her blessing lol. Can't wait!1 point

Sorry if Imissed this but voting is open for Coma City as the coolest song with Little Steven https://www.undergroundgarage.com/coolestsong2024 Think voting also opens to day for Tre as drummer of the year it I can’t find that right now?! Found it, Drummeo. Tre is nominated for drummer of the year and I think drum recording of the year. https://www.drumeo.com/beat/2024-awards/?srsltid=AfmBOoqxQ6vtaiOsDIh9EjsPRdnGVYheGJ4K8Ccg8m-fCi2_xNXrMm1Y1 point

I just don’t think the music scene is in a place where new Green Day music can be successful. Saviors is fresh and catchy, the singles have all been modern-sounding and clear-wormy. Rock, especially an old rock band, just doesn’t sell anymore.1 point

I do wonder about the Mike and Tre. With Tres kid growing up and Mike have a few other business ventures, I wonder if the album making process will slow down. I’ll say that I have no solid reason to think they’d want to slow down, just going solely off of things I’ve thought before. Regardless, I know that Billie will most likely stay in the groove of things, whether it’s solo or with a group. He seems to be most consistent when it comes to writing/performing and all that stuff1 point

I‘ve read a lot of interviews in the last weeks, and I think in one of them Billie said he loved making albums. So I think they will continue making records, if just for the fun of it.1 point
