I do, but I'll admit that's it's rarely a front to back listen. Lazy Bones is perfect. Ashley is a rager and like Mumbles, I think I know EXACTLY which Ashley's he's talking about, haha. Amy's heartfelt and saving the best for last, Nighlife could explore my vocal chords any time it wants to.4 points

Coffee is my main concern when the power goes out. Inverters that plug into the car won't run a coffer maker and even some smaller generators won't run them. Coffee is up there with Green Day in my brain. If I don't get at least 12 ounces of coffee and a blended up copy of nimrod a day, the results are catastrophic.4 points

I love it, I listen to it as much as any other GD album and it's my favourite Trilogy album. The songs are fun and hot and love the Foxies vibe, but it's also honest writing from Billie as always and has darker and introspective moments too. See You Tonight into Fuck Time will always be the funniest album opening to me lol. And I really like Amy as the closer, acoustic songs are never my favourite but in the context of the album it works well. Was awesome seeing a couple of songs from it live (first time I heard them as it was before album was out and I'd avoided live recordings) at the most crazy and boiling hot show at Shepherds Bush, perfect place for them. My mum ruined it for me by telling me it sounds like he's saying "Actually", now that's how I always hear it . I prefer the Demolicious version, has a sleazier sound to it that suits it well.2 points

So excited for this! I've been listening to songs they play a lot that I'm not familiar with as it'll be nice to know more of them2 points

I think Amy works far better in the context of the album. It thematically makes perfect sense as the closer for this album and works as a nice bridge into the more reflective content of Tré. Although the album ending on Wow! That's Loud would be interesting too, considering how that song ends.2 points

On this day 7 years ago (5 January 2018), the Basket Case eyeliner was released. 20 years ago (5 January 2005), Green Day played Bouelvard of Broken Dreams, Holiday and Wake Me Up When September Ends at MTV Studios in NYC. More photos: 33 years ago (5 January 1992), Green Day played the Willem II Concertzaal in Den Bosch, Netherlands. 35 years ago (5 January 1990), Green Day played the Veterans Memorial Center in Davis, CA. For me I like to listen to Trilogy albums one after other. Like an event really. I start with the demos from Demolicious. Get the feel of studio. Then on to the video Quatro. Following GD in the studio and on stage making the Trilogy. Almost feel there with them whilst they are recording. Love the part in room, with a board in three parts and each song on cards. The band are deciding which song should be allocated to each album. Billie Joe is holding I think is the last song and throws it at the board to see where it ends up. lol. Then listen to all the songs in sequence as the band decided. It's easy I suppose in hindsight to suggest it could have been released differently, not necessarily a trilogy. But it was the band's choice. Listening to the Trilogy this way, takes my mind back, and to the time of Billie Joe's struggles and illness. I remember seeing a photo somewhere, showing Billie Joe in a hospital bed with Adrienne by his side. He had a smile on his face. I felt so sorry for him. All I could do is pray for his speedy recovery and Iight a candle for him in church. And he did thankfully and came through it, and of course we got to hear more amazing songs for many more years. It's what was happening to them as a band and individually at that time, I don't think I would want to change it. I know this is from Uno not Dos, but it's my fav video of band performing in studio, "Stay the Night" He looks really happy there ❤️2 points

I was at the Golden Bull NYE party (how was that 5 years ago?). My old phone hated indoor lighting, so I don't have great pics, but it was a fun night, including Billie shoving me so that he could take pics of Kevin while Prima Donna opened. Finally got up to Christie Road before the show. Do I spy @solongfromthestarsand @Rumpelstiltskin2000 here?2 points

On this day 32 years ago (6 January 1993), Green Day played the Backroom in Austin, TX. 33 years ago (6 January 1992), Green Day played Melkweg in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Four months left... I've got to finish it now I'm over halfway! I used to use the eyeliner a lot but never for the smoky look it was intended for, just when I was too lazy to do wings.1 point

Dos is GD at their best and worst, so it's honestly still in my rotation (I usually just shuffle their songs at work).1 point

I thought these would end on December 31st, so I just went back to the first page to see on what day you had started 😅 Also, what is the Basket Case eyeliner? Like an actual eyeliner / eyeliner brand?1 point

I was just listening to The Death Of Randy Fittzsimmons by The Hives and it made me want to listen to Father Of All Motherfuckers, so I guess today is a rare FOAM day!1 point

kworb.net/spotify/artist/7oPftvlwr6VrsViSDV7fJY_albums.html Based on this, Dos is listened to more than FOAM and Tré. Some tracks get played more than others and the lowest streamed tracks on Dos have less daily streams than all of the FOAMF tracks and most of Tré. Stray Heart is the clear biggest track from this album. The 2nd biggest track of the whole trilogy in terms of total streams (after Oh Love) and the biggest track in terms of current daily streams Personally, Dos is my favourite of the trilogy and I really appreciate the trilogy as a whole despite its flaws. Regarding Dos specifically, I think it's thematically the most important album of the trilogy. I've gone into this on the Green Day subreddit so I'll just copy/paste what I said there. On the surface Dos is just a "fun party album" but it really delves into the problems with constant partying, drinking and sex in a dark way. Fuck Time at the start of the album is intentionally just a fun party song but quickly the narrator starts to see warning signs "Stop When the Red Lights Flash" but ignores them. Lazy Bones is about the narrator's depression and addiction. Stray Heart is about infidelity. Ashley is about a girl who was able to manipulate the narrator with her beauty until he begins to see who she has become. An addict who "looks like hell". Following songs like Lady Cobra and Nightlife are also about sexual desire and infatuation. And the album ends with Amy, a tale about how continuing to live this life will result in your demise. Part of the reason why Dos is my favourite trilogy album is because Billie, although he wasn't in his right mind at the time, was really trying to do something here and a lot of people didn't really get what he was trying to say with this album. Obviously there are missteps here, but the album is not the dumpster fire that a lot of people act like it is.1 point

I do really like Dos, and Trilogy in general. I find 2 major problems with Trilogy, all can be narrowed to 2 points. 1. From a marketing perspective, releasing three albums was a bad idea - among others: casual fans got overwhelmed. 2. Mixing/mastering - guitars and vocals are over-polished, sterile. I've appreciated Trilogy after some time, I must admin I like most of these songs. My favorites: Lazy Bones, The Forgotten, SD&V, DRB. As we all noticed that everyone has their own favorites and it so much differs. On that case creating a top songs list is impossible. I wouldn't place X-Kid and Carpe Diem as best but I know lot of fans love it. Too me they are just mediocre. I love The Forgotten but it's never been 2nd 21 Guns. The Forgotten is listed as half-decent, an easy listening ballad. DOS is certainly an interesting and worth attention, something fresh in GD discography. Like it or not, they'd never before put such direct Rock and Roll songs like Makeout party, Fck Time, Lady Cobra.1 point

I agree with you but only until Amy, think it’s their worst song by a long way, rest of the album is a bop.1 point

When I was partying, iDos! was playing a lot in my phone. idk why but iDos! really felt like a party album. Getting fucked and stoned and having the biggest hangover the next morning. For my hangover I was listening to either iTré! or 21stCB.1 point

I didn't listen to the Trilogy in general for a while because I overplayed it so much back when it came out. However it's back on the playlist again now and I'm really enjoying it, including the songs from Dos. Stop when the red lights flash live was absolutely incredible and in my mind I can still remember seeing and hearing the band playing it at Emirates Stadium.1 point

My 21st century breakdown book came a couple of days ago, but I just opened it now and I am pleased. It’s a little beat up, but I think it’s so cool that it’s actually from 2009, the time I became a fan. Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays everyone!1 point

8 years ago yesterday (21 December 2016), Billie performed Ordinary World on Conan. More photos: 33 years ago (21 December 1991), Green Day played The Den in Wigan, England. "Right before the first song, I Was There, the band did the Nativity Play, starring Billie Joe as 'three schizophrenic wise men', Mike as a narrator and Santa Claus, Tre Cool as Virgin Mary, Sean Hughes as baby Jesus, and Sean Forbes of Wat Tyler as the Easter Bunny." @Dingle I'm sure everyone would love to hear more about your experience at that show if you feel like sharing. More photos: --------------------------- On this day 33 years ago (22 December 1991), Green Day played the Wheatsheaf in Stoke-on-Trent, England. "One of the most unlikely must be Green Day at the Wheatsheaf in December 1991. Of all the gigs I saw at the 'Sheaf it was the only time the bands played in the smaller upstairs room. I didn't know GD and only went along because I was friends with great Stoke hardcore outfit Exit Condition who were the support. It turned into a storming night with at one point Billie Joe playing while lying on his back in the middle of the floor." – Snowdog "I saw Shutdown play with Green Day at the Wheatsheaf in Stoke-on-Trent. I remember thinking that Shutdown would be going on to great things one day. I didn't rate Green Day that much... Funny how Green Day are now millionaires and Shutdown never got the recognition that they deserved. I'm interested in hearing their new project The Great Leap Forward though." — Paul Green Day for £3.50 in fucking Stoke-on-Trent... I've never even been there and I don't live that far away.1 point

In a business trip I ended up explaining to the co-CEO of the company where I work that Green Day had played Dookie (they knew this album) and AI in full in the tour they did this year so I had simply *had to* go to 4 concerts 🫣 (in my defense, most of my coworkers already knew about the 4 Green Day shows, because it's a small company and news travel fast, so I kind of assumed they knew too - they didn't).1 point

How are the album equivalent units for streaming calculated? I ask because I wonder if part of the problem is that people don't listen to albums anymore? In general, people listen to singles now. Mashed up playlists in Spotify and so on. On the other hand you have their tour, which was their most successful most attended tour ever, as per some news article someone shared a few weeks ago. Or American Idiot anniversary boxset debuting quite high in the charts... Probably because again people just don't buy albums anymore. And yes, I agree with @DookieLukie's point too, that Rock just isn't popular anymore. Which is quite depressing, but it is what it is.1 point

I just don’t think the music scene is in a place where new Green Day music can be successful. Saviors is fresh and catchy, the singles have all been modern-sounding and clear-wormy. Rock, especially an old rock band, just doesn’t sell anymore.1 point
