"But are they at least playing different songs each night?" I went four times because I wanted to see this album played in full all those times, and I'd happily go an extra four more times if I could, thank you very much3 points

Damn! Wonder what the chances of getting tickets are. I miss when the only place these things were announced was the band's website and they didn't mention it's a Green Day side project lol. Cool that it's far in advance though, might give it a try.3 points

You shouldn't feel guilty for doing something that makes you happy. Going to shows isn't hurting anyone except our wallets. 🤭3 points

Thank you so much. The Coverups in UK, a chance to see them live, would love that. After seeing GD in a pub in London last year, seen them live earlier this year, and again next year, and now a chance to see the Coverups. My head is spinning. Am I dreaming? Is this what heaven is really like. 🤪2 points

The Cover Ups have also posted it now (no caption)2 points

It's a presale now from o2. 😊 I'm not going to try to get tickets. Doesn't work for me this time around. Good luck with getting tickets everyone!2 points

Lol. People don't get it and that's fine, but the attitude. Most of my co workers spend their vacation days on charter trips. We clearly like different things. 🤭 I went to four shows too and loved to hear Whatsername. I would have gone to more shows if I could have.2 points

In a business trip I ended up explaining to the co-CEO of the company where I work that Green Day had played Dookie (they knew this album) and AI in full in the tour they did this year so I had simply *had to* go to 4 concerts 🫣 (in my defense, most of my coworkers already knew about the 4 Green Day shows, because it's a small company and news travel fast, so I kind of assumed they knew too - they didn't).2 points

I don't feel guilty - I have very cheap tastes and interests otherwise But I do feel a bit self-conscious when I mention it to people outside this community and some very select friends... somehow it's more socially acceptable to spend your money in fancy clothes than it is to spend it on creating happy memories, as @Mollyluna said 🤷♀️2 points

I just saw that Tatum/Billie/Reynolds pic on reddit and came straight here to freak out a little bc two of my old guinea pigs were named after Billie and one of my current ones is named after a character played by Channing Tatum (funnily enough that movie was literally playing on Channel 4 like 7hrs ago too). Was like a family reunion of my rodent descendants in their humanoid form lmao2 points

Went on a Billie billboard hunt with my friend in London. Anyone else seen them? Apparently there’s one in Kings Cross but we walked round for an hour and couldn’t see it 😂2 points

Sorry if Imissed this but voting is open for Coma City as the coolest song with Little Steven https://www.undergroundgarage.com/coolestsong2024 Think voting also opens to day for Tre as drummer of the year it I can’t find that right now?! Found it, Drummeo. Tre is nominated for drummer of the year and I think drum recording of the year. https://www.drumeo.com/beat/2024-awards/?srsltid=AfmBOoqxQ6vtaiOsDIh9EjsPRdnGVYheGJ4K8Ccg8m-fCi2_xNXrMm1Y1 point

Those pics remind me a bit of some pics with Michael Mayer around the time of the musical. The guy with glasses on even looks a bit like Michael Mayer I've just realised that's Channing Tatum and Ryan Reynolds with Billie. I thought it was some randos https://www.instagram.com/p/DDmSU4OMbbw/?igsh=aHBzOXp5NWtwcDJx1 point

I mean, I am pretty sure this guy was just trying to heckle the comedian, but the sad part is that there are unhinged people on social media who believe this crazy stuff. I seem to remember someone on Reddit about a year ago who was saying they had some kind of "claim" to Green Day's music, like the band had stolen songs from them. Also saw some batshit more recently on reddit where someone was making all kinds of messed up accusations against Fall Out Boy, including that Pete Wentz didn't write a bunch of his own songs and had stolen them from someone. It's scary what people will believe. Also, I am sure we all got the email yesterday, but here is the whole glorious ten hours of the Green Day Yule Log. I hate the holidays, but I would totally stare at this for 10 hours. 🤣1 point
