  1. Some end of tour messages from the band Not posting all the pics as they're mainly dupes of what's already been posted

  2. Hope it keeps getting attention. Dilemma and Bobby Sox are some of their strongest songs in over a decade and should be more crowd-pleasing in general.

  4. On this day 2 years ago (2 October 2022), Green Day played the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix. More photos: 15 years ago (2 October 2009), Green Day played Le Zénith in Toulouse, France on the 21st Century Breakdown Tour. The GDC thread is still up. 19 years ago (2 October 2005), Green Day played the Coors Amphitheatre in Chula Vista, CA on the American Idiot Tour. 24 years ago (2 October 2000), Green Day played Minority on The Late Show With David Letterman. 31 years ago (2 October 1993), Green Day played the Trocadero Theatre in Philadelphia, PA while supporting Bad Religion. 32 years ago (2 October 1992), Green Day played the Benton County Fairgrounds in Kennewick, WA on the Kerplunk Tour. "This was in 1992, and Green Day played here in a warehouse at the local fairgrounds. That seems funny right there, but at the time I was doing a fanzine and did reviews of most of the local shows. I was a bigger fan of the opening band, a group from Boise, Idaho called the Dirt Fishermen. One of the guys in the band worked at the record store which published a magazine that I wrote for, and he did reviews as well. Anyway, Green Day were just 'the big punk band,' they had a name and were very popular but they were very much indie. No one ever knew what they had in store a year or two later, but because they were still an indie back, I ignored them. I sat on the side and watched, but wasn't in the pit taking pictures. All I remember is that when they started they played the theme to 'Barney Miller' and later in the show they played the song from the old Nintendo video game, 'Rad Racer'. Months later, Green Day were signed among the alternative frenzy and you couldn't avoid seeing 'Longview' on MTV. Yet unlike a lot of bands who were signed, especially by Warner Bros./Reprise (i.e. Faith No More, The Muffs, Mudhoney, Xtra Large), Green Day are still around, now winning Grammy awards. When I became a member of this board a few months ago, it was great reading threads from people who are bringing their kids (sometimes grandkids) to Green Day shows, or I should say, the kids are bringing their parents. If I had kids, I probably would tag along as well, although trying my best to not act a fool. So there, I saw Green Day when they still played at a fairground warehouse shed." — johmbolaya "I was there!!! Partied in their van... Billie was a dick then." — Melissa Sanford "Saw them at our fairgrounds here in Kennewick, WA back in '92 (before Dookie). They were playing with punk bands. The drummer sold me their Kerplunk tape while he was eating Little Debbie Fruit Jammers and drinking a Yoohoo. I still don't know where to find Yoohoo in this town." — TheUplist "Big show. This was well before they were on a major label. At some point in the middle of the Green Day set, the singer, Billie Joe or whatever his name is was holding the mic out to let people say stupid things. He held it up to my face and I tried to make a farting sound in it. I rushed myself and made a really weak farting noise that didn't even carry over the PA and ended up just getting a ton of spit on the mic. He just pulled the mic away from me and gave me this look like I was the biggest jackass ever." — Tim Leingang I like how that last guy said "Billie Joe or whatever his name is" but actually spelled it correctly, which can't be said for everyone who claims to be his biggest fan. I don't think someone does need to know their names at all to be a massive fan, but that's still amusing.

  5. So far the nimrod and insomniac anniversaries to me were more exciting…so many of these new or unheard AI songs have already been released (shoplifter/favorite son/govemator) and some of the soon to be live songs have already been released as well….looking forward to 21st Century Breakdown anniversary addition that should be interesting

  8. Same. 🤷🏼‍♀️😅 I just noticed that the day Green Day plays is the same as the summer party at my boss' house. This year, it was on the day I travelled to see Green Day too. Green Day is saving me from having to hang out with my co workers. 🙌

  11. I haven’t even been thinking about the Grammys, but I hope they get some recognition. Would be awesome if they had them perform in celebration of these milestones.

  13. Idk, this whole thing is pretty disappointing. All I’m looking forward to is the documentary.

  16. When your co-worker asks you what color eyeballs she should get for her Halloween decorations, and you of course tell her green, due to a certain frontman.

  17. Funnily enough Shenanigans was the hardest for me to find. I eventually found a copy of the disc and booklet only at the Salvation Army. But that's wasn't good enough so a few years later I picked up a proper copy at my local record store.

  20. I remember when I bought the CD of International Superhits my copy had black plastic instead of clear under the CD for some reason. But one day I noticed a pattern through the little hole in the middle of where the CD clips in and had to investigate so I took the case apart, and it was that hiding behind there (pattern was Billie's dress). Excellent tattoo choice I'd say👌

  22. I saw them at the Tower Theater in Philly 8 years ago today. One of the most special concerts of theirs I’ve been to. It’s an old theater and I thought the balcony was going to collapse every time Billie told us to jump. I still remember watching them perform Still Breathing and feeling blown away by all of the emotion attached to it. It was a really joyful night, very similar to the Saviors Tour in that respect.

  23. They’re being smart about where to license their songs to reach new audiences and they’re hitting a lot of milestones this year with the two album anniversaries, the billion streams, the double diamond award, the star on the walk of fame. Everything they have yet to achieve seems to be happening for them now

  24. Green Day is everywhere since Saviors. Can't remember when was the last time the media, TV, movies, radio, etc... talked about them this much. Good or bad I don't care Green Day is everywhere this year. And let's be honest, when it's bad it's not that bad (trump mask, vegas radio, USA residency) They're doing awards shows, got song on a video game, they did a sport event last november, late night show... name it. They're everywhere baby!

  25. I love seeing Green Day at award shows. Takes me back to AI era where they appeared at what felt like every award show, performed, and won! Makes me excited because otherwise I wouldn't watch
