There was a period of time when I was a baby fangirl that I had the International Superhits booklet propped up on my nightstand so I could look at Billie every night before bed. I listened to that album alllllll the time and was very attached to that booklet. Wasn’t even that cute of a photoshoot, haha. This conversation has led me back to listening to Poprocks & Coke for the first time in forever and it made me so happy. It’s such a cute, happy little bop.6 points

I wanna echo a GD Reddit user who disagreed with Billie about Vegas:”Vegas has the single greatest attraction I’ve ever laid my eyes on: the airport which allows you to leave that city”6 points
-
I used to read Green Day fic on LiveJournal back in the day The girl who got pulled up for Know Your Enemy at the Portland show had a tattoo of THIS fangirl worthy picture of Billie on her thigh: When she showed it to him he immediately recreated the pose and in his recap video he described her as the best person they've brought up to sing the song. Absolute legend!6 points

Another pic of Billie with the Linda Lindas last night from Isabel Salazar's Instagram story I've cropped this one too Original here https://www.instagram.com/stories/isabela.salaza.r/3467974274978605093?utm_source=ig_story_item_share&igsh=YnltNDl4ODJhMDZ5 Pic of the band and crew from Alice Baxley's Instagram story5 points

The only thing that will get me out to Vegas is an NSYNC residency. Otherwise, I've never really been interested in visiting. The gamboling doesn't appeal to me. I'll lose $5 and get mad4 points

The positive is that they haven't forgotten that Scandinavia exist and those of us who live in Oslo/close to Oslo will save money cause we won't need a hotel. I hate festivals and would have prefered going to Ålesund again over this.4 points

Moving sports teams (see: franchises) for capitalism is the most American thing ever, I'm afraid. Try that shit in Europe or South America. They would raze entire cities to the ground.4 points

I remember at the end of the RevRad Tour they all had the radio tattoo (like the front cover of the album). There are pics online of those. My mind is going blank at the minute It might even have been Tre's dad who has a tattoo for each tour Billie also has a tattoo for St Jimmy from when he played the part in the musical and which was done by Kat von D. Here's the RevRad tattoos St Jimmy4 points

Green Day is set to headline one of the biggest rock festivals in Norway next summer.3 points

Between the Saviors tour, Dookie and AI anniversaries, Pinhead Gunpowder stuff and coffee these guys are really draining our bank accounts.3 points

looks like *another* festival run in europe 😟3 points

I know right! They should at least have put the VIP area closer to the main stage. My vision isn't getting any better. Geez. 🫣😅3 points
-
Yes girl! I haven't seen you since forever. ❤️ I won't be queuing for this and will probably just hang around. I will consider if it's worth to get VIP upgrade since I am getting old and all. 👵🏻 The first time I saw Green Day was at a festival in 2005. I stood by the barrier from the festival opened and until it closed. Now grandma has to sit down. 😂3 points

https://www.punkbunnycoffee.com/collections/the-extra-special-holiday-collection/holiday2024 Got an email for these. They have the funniest marketing and I love the packaging (Fancy Sauce!) I just don’t have a use for ground or cocoa but damn I want that tin and those bags ETA: Also, did you spot Lenny on that cocoa tin?3 points

I spent a lot on seeing them this summer so I'm glad they're playing in my hometown - but only because I won't need to pay for flights/hotels and so on. 😅 If they'll only play at festivals this summer I probably won't bother going to more shows than this.3 points

Oh man, this takes me back to when I was just getting into Green Day. I found both Dookie and ISH at Walmart and had them in the cart trying to figure out which one to get with my allowance. I think I picked ISH because it had a good amount of Dookie songs on there. I picked up Dookie later2 points

Today isn't a particularly interesting day since there are only photos of one of the things. On this day 6 years ago (30 September 2018), The Coverups played the Uptown in Oakland, CA. That beard makes Billie look like the love child of one of my college tutors – who will tell you that he saw Green Day at the Garage in 1997, but it must have been the Astoria because they didn't play the Garage in 1997 and as smug as he is about it, I don't think he'd lie – and a bloke who asked if I really have the mental capability to make my own decisions after I absconded from our date. Anyway. Here are a few more photos of the child of Photography Lecturer Who Was (Actually Not) At The Garage and Undateable Mental Capability Man. 19 years ago (30 September 2005), Green Day played the ARCO Arena in Sacramento, CA on the American Idiot Tour. 24 years ago (30 September 2000), Green Day played the WRZX X-Fest in Noblesville, IN.2 points

Thrilled that they’re coming here but hate that it’s a festival. Was not expecting to get to see them again this soon so I won’t complain. At least it isn’t in Ålesund 🤪 Will be nice not to have to travel for once but still hoping for at least one regular not-festival-show while they’re in Europe2 points

I saw them at the Tower Theater in Philly 8 years ago today. One of the most special concerts of theirs I’ve been to. It’s an old theater and I thought the balcony was going to collapse every time Billie told us to jump. I still remember watching them perform Still Breathing and feeling blown away by all of the emotion attached to it. It was a really joyful night, very similar to the Saviors Tour in that respect.2 points

Yeah I was wondering if they were going to get end-of-tour tattoos this time. I remember they did last tour at least. Hopefully we get to see the close-up of this one2 points

https://www.instagram.com/reel/DAftBJOttGb/?igsh=MXI1ZHE3aGd4dno4dg== The way everything this man says on stage makes giggle and go googly-eyed should be studied by science. But like. He’s just so funny and sweet.2 points

I actually wore out my International Superhits CD! Not listened to it in a while, must go back to it.1 point
-
Honestly, I get that many of us don’t like festivals, me neither, but this tour has been so good, the band, production everything has been so good, I would say to anyone who hasn’t had the chance to go yet, do go if you can, festival or not.1 point

I remember when I bought the CD of International Superhits my copy had black plastic instead of clear under the CD for some reason. But one day I noticed a pattern through the little hole in the middle of where the CD clips in and had to investigate so I took the case apart, and it was that hiding behind there (pattern was Billie's dress). Excellent tattoo choice I'd say👌1 point

Agreed! The packaging alone makes me want to grab some, but I have to watch my funds.1 point

How is this still making headlines? Green Day Banned from Two Las Vegas Radio Stations After Billie Joe Armstrong Calls City “Worst Shithole in America” https://consequence.net/2024/09/green-day-banned-las-vegas-radio-stations/ I'm guessing this is gonna blow over soon. Doesn't seem super newsworthy to me.1 point

Same, but this is my only chance to get some of the Saviors tour atleast.1 point

The moment I saw it I was like "Yay 🥳". A second later I realized it's a festival and I was like "Oh no 😒" I hate festivals. If they'll sell single day tickets, I may be going to the Hurricane, because it's very close to where I live (about an hour by train), but other than that I don't want to do any festivals. So fingers crossed for some regular shows 🤞1 point
-
If they stay away from these combined shows, then I think this is definitely plausible. However, I have a hunch that this formula will stick around for the next tour because, frankly, it works. After 21CB, they stopped touring at larger stadiums, and having these shared shows allows them to sell out larger venues more easily. With that happening, I assume they will probably go back to the 20-song sets they did during Hella Mega1 point

This kind of reminds me of the Steve Jobs one which also didn’t land well. Then his emails leak years later proving the guy was a literal piece of shit to his employees and he even worked deals with other companies to control the job market in tech.1 point

They played Suzie Chapstick at the last show....six current era songs at a Green Day show, that is mindblowing! Hopefully with American Idiot and Dookie properly celebrated Green Day will put the nostalgia away for the next several eras and focus on new material. If the public's perception of their modern stuff continues to be positive, they'll do it - and their setlist will only benefit from it. I know that my frustration with them not covering every era live will grow, as they go into having 15+ albums, but there's a right way to more forward. Green Day won't ever stop playing the Dookie and Idiot hits. The Saviors Tour is a good model for what could come later. Play the big Dookie and Idiot songs, play some other big hits, and then play 6-7 brand new song songs. 5 Dookies, 5 Idiots, 10 big hits from across the decades, 7 new songs. A very satisfying 27 set that's not as brutal on the old young guys.1 point

I recently listened to Saviors from top to bottom and I still love it six months later. Some songs I've cooled on like Father to a Son, but overall the album is still fantastic and is their strongest work in a while. Glad that the album still resonates months after its release.1 point
