  4. I'm embarrassed to say that I didn't listen to all of Saviours until after I'd seen them live again the other week, but oh my god, it is such a good album. An instant classic, I think, up there with Dookie and American Idiot in terms of their best albums. Really really awesome.

  5. It did say "early entry" for Manchester and Glasgow. It initially said "early entry" for Wembley but it was removed from Ticketmaster for whatever reason. The VIP information emails still said it though. I don't think the American sites have ever mentioned early entry so I'm not sure they will get it. I don't know about Hella Mega but it wasn't a problem in 2017. There were 200 VIPs with early entry at each American show but anyone who queued early got good spots.

  10. Did another monthly update. Songs that they played live on tour are holding up in numbers or have gone up. Spotify position is the song's position within Green Day's catalog.

  17. Caught this last night. VW Golf. As with basically every use of the song in TV and film, the lyrics have been somewhat misconstrued, not that the band's bank manager really cares.

  18. There’s so much pryo, confettti, a plane ✈️, and dookie inflatable and American idiot inflatable. like the production I think is the most fancy I have ever seen from them. This must have costed so much to put on.

  20. In a week it's been 6 months since Saviors was released so I thought I'd put some of my thoughts in to this thread regarding this era and the songs. - Surprisingly, I find a lot of joy of seeing Billie having blonde hair this whole time. He loves to have black hair during festival and stadium tours (with notable exception being 21st Century Breakdown Tour where had blonde in 2009 and 2010 and obviously during 90s to Warning era) and I was sure he'd ditch blond for Saviors Tour, but nope. It makes him look younger and shows feel different thanks to it. Not a fan of Tre's hair though, blue doesn't fit him at all. - I'm not a fan of downtuning Saviors stuff, but it's understandable. Dilemma and Bobby Sox are tough songs to perform live and Billie is not getting any younger and they want to play those songs, but I still prefer their OG tunings. - I don't hate Suzie Chapstick that much anymore, but I still find it corny and just boring. - The American Dream Is Killing Me is definitely one of my all-time favorite songs from them. Not just from Saviors, but overall. - Corvette Summer remains my favorite song from Saviors. I just love how simple and catchy it is. Green Day at their best. It should've been summer single. - Still no love for Trilogy during this tour, but that was to be expected. I had little hope for non-full album shows they'd chime in Nuclear Family or some other Trilogy song, but nope. Just Dookie/AI stuff. - 1981 and Look Ma, No Brains! are very catchy songs, but both of them feel too short, whereas One Eyed Bastard should've been shorter. Key change in Goodnight Adeline isn't good either. - I'm not buying in to Fancy Sauce hype. Only during the outro it feels like a closer, but otherwise it's just bland. Still, I can definitely see why it's liked though. - Living in the '20s is great, but it honestly bothers me how dry Billie's scream during the outro is. I don't know is it the production that causes it to sound so dry or is that just result of aging or not bothering to record better scream, but it's the only thing that bothers me in that song. - I'm disappointed with ''Making of...'' videos. They're all black and white, way too short and not a single one of them is showing Billie recording vocals. Maybe they end up releasing documentary movie about making Saviors after the tour is finished, but as it is right now, those videos left much to be desired. Still, it's better than nothing. I've never seen any studio footage from RR and FOAM other than few pictures and obviously Trilogy gave us Cuatro! - I'm also very critical of Green Day still not updating their social media game to 2024. I've always loved how Metallica posts one live song from each set in YouTube and are generally much more active across all social medias, but Green Day only posts pictures and that's that. Metallica (and surprisingly one of the biggest bands in Finland called Haloo Helsinki! too) also entertained their fans during 2020 lockdowns with free full concerts every week, but Green Day still hasn't given any of that stuff free of charge. I'd love to see them post literally anything (other than SOLD OUT tweets or thank you posts in Instagram) regarding their live stuff, but still nothing. Maybe some beautiful day? - I'm still yet to form proper opinions regarding Strange Days Are Here to Stay and Saviors. They're harmless, they're Green Day but something is missing from both of those songs. - Coma City suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucks. Not a fan. - I also miss seeing them live. They were here last time in 2013 and COVID took away our 2020 show (rescheduled to 2021 and then cancelled), so I'm starting to be really annoyed if they don't end up coming here in the next 5 years. I miss them.

  25. It doesn't matter if you have much money. It doesn't matter if you buy the most expensive VIP tickets or the cheapest ones. It doesn't matter if or how many merch you buy, how many shows you're going to, for how long you've been a fan etc.. If you can or want to afford any of that - go for it. If not - totally fine. Being a fan is about your heart, not your bank account ❤️ At least that's my opinion

  30. Rare for a Green Day song that's this good to be a hit single. It's up there with Basketcase and Hitchin a Ride in terms of it's timeless enjoyability. It could be the first Green Day song in many eras to actually stick around live long after the era is over.

  34. I think dividing the pit might be a venue specific thing, and probably depends on the capacity of the pit and safety concerns. For example, both venues in France were arenas similar in size and the pit was not divided. But in a stadium I'd be terrified of being anywhere the near the front if the pit wasn't divided. A big crush in those conditions could leave many people gravely injured.

  35. At least in London and Manchester they did I had to get front pitch for double the normal price cause it just randomly went up and I know someone who was in same situation in Manchester. That said prices in general are as you would expect them imo. Touring got more expensive so what can you do! Dynamic pricing is absolutely infuriating though.

  36. This isn’t about the VIP side, but overall I’m grateful for their ticket prices. This is a bigger tour than Blink’s and Blink’s tickets are about double the price on a lot of comparable seats. They didn’t opt into dynamic pricing.

  37. All I know is a paid $21 to see then in 2001. Remember this

  38. I think the ticket prices are really overpriced everywhere, and I said before, the band should take a closer look on the prices they are being sold. Not rich fans should be able to get good tickets to see the band up close, and not far away from the bleachers. And that is one of the reasons I really don't like Stadium shows.. they are really beutiful to see, mostly by the band from the stage, but 80% of people there are just seeing the band through the screens, which is really sad The VIP thing that seems to be new for all of you, it's something that happens here in south america for a long while, usually lie 30/40% of the tickets are VIP/Premium here, so if you want front row, you need to camp the night out most of the time. It's really rare to have an early entry, and when we have it, it's even an additional fare over and huge amonut of money you already spent to buy VIP
    1 point
  39. Yeah totally agree. What was also annoying is the fact that on UK Ticketmaster it was advertised as 'VIP Entrance to the venue' with no explicit mention of early entry. I was under the impression it just meant that VIPs get separate queue/entrance (like it often happens with other bands and VIP tickets) but not early entry. And yeah the sheer amount of VIPs... I get it, they need money and it's almost becoming industry standard now. But it's still very very sad for fans like us. And personally (maybe I was just unlucky) it killed the atmosphere for me in Manchester and Glasgow cause I happened to stand behind people who weren't singing or clapping at all. Definitely not the experience you would usually get at GD show after queuing all day.
    1 point
  40. Thank you for this thread! First of all - I think the front row should be for the most dedicated fans, not for the richest. Period. And speaking of the actual Saviors tour in my opinion both VIP packages were just a scam. Every venue had a different number of VIP tickets, so it was like a lottery - in Berlin were too many VIPs and a lot of them didn’t get the barrier, but in Arnhem or Glasgow it was totally possible to be in the front row with regular GC ticket. So VIPs were still queuing for shows because they didn’t know what to expect. People with regular tickets also were queuing or even camping and ended up in second or third row. Actually at every show some VIPs from the front row (usually from the most expensive package) didn’t know a lot of songs and were singing only Basket Case and Boulevard Of Broken Dreams. So they were just rich people (not all of them of course). Also VIP merch was a joke - only tote bag is fine and useful. LP cover when a lot of people don’t have an LP player? Fingerboard? And my favorite - fucking fake guitar picks. We paid almost €300 and we didn’t even get real Green Day guitar picks. VIP host? Has anyone seen the VIP host? In Berlin people had a problem with tickets from the official resale site. In London people had problem with tickets scanning. Where was this VIP host? As I said before, if they want to sell VIP tickets - fine, go for it. But make it real VIP - very limited, so VIPs won’t need to queue and people with regular tickets still will have a chance to get the barrier.
