It's me, hi, I was the one updating Rumpel. What she really means is that I was screaming louder than the band or accidentally pressing the selfie button. Pulling Teeth and Extraordinary Girl should be OK-ish as far as my Peasant 5000 phone goes though. I don't think they played 37 songs unless I'm underestimating how many it was with Dookie and Idiot. It was a pretty standard length show. I impulsively decided to go to this the day before I flew out (thanks for the £30 flight easyJet). It was my first Green Day show in nearly five years and of course it blew me away. Worth every penny I should've spent fixing my car. They absolutely shouldn't drop One Eyed Bastard. I wasn't expecting it and screamed like a teenager. It was fantastic. I don't like Dilemma but I didn't give a shit when they played it because everything sounded amazing. When they started playing American Idiot, I thought of my 12 year-old self watching Bullet in a Bible, wondering if I'd ever see such a thing live. And I was just like... "12 year-old self, you're hearing it live in Lyon, France and it's everything you dreamed of and more." Despite all our posts about French crowds, this one defied every stereotype. People went nuts but weren't aggressive at all. It was incredible to look back and see this sea of smiling people jumping. No camembert assaults (that I'm aware of). It was exactly what "punk" should be. There were a LOT of VIPs. Seemed like more than RevRad. I was about sixth in the peasant queue and was between Mike and the screen. I was very happy with that spot though. I'll have more to say when I've slept (my grand total of hours slept over the past 48 hours is about three) but wow, as always.12 points

It’s not him doing it… I guarantee. Other fans must have flagged your posts nothing he can do to help it.7 points

Billie will be on the soon to be released Jesse Malin tribute album (track list still TBA). Very interested to know which track Billie will contribute https://consequence.net/2024/06/jesse-malin-tribute-album/7 points

Bobby Sox Give me Novocaine Chump/Longview All by myself Well that didn't work, I've shared the advertisement and not the song and I can't seem to remove it Anyway the same guy has other videos on his channel if you check it out4 points

So 37 songs has got to be the longest setlist in terms of # of songs they’ve had in like 15 years right? It’s gotta rival some of those 21CB tour shows4 points

They could play longer and longer each night, finally playing Idiot, Dookie and Saviors in full plus 15 hits. 😄 Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid and whoever else can just come out and say hi, maybe play with Green Day on a couple songs.3 points
-
37 songs. How they can handle this. They are 50 years old. 😅3 points
-
for me this setlist is almost perfect... I just miss a couple of well known tunes they used to play live like Hitchin a Ride and 21 Guns3 points

Video of One Eyed Bastard. played for the first time in this european tour3 points

I'm glad that Goodnight adeline and suzie chapstick are getting better performance than 1981, I never knew why that awful song had so many plays the first 2 or 3 months.3 points

Dilemma seems to be the biggest hit and seems to have stayed number 1 on a lot of charts for a pretty long time….OEB I never really liked….I think Bobby Sox should get radio push as a single or Suzie Chapsticks as that song numbers are pretty good…both have a summer vibe to them.3 points

So they keep adding one more Saviors song each show. Maybe by the time they get back to the US they'll just be doing the whole album. (Just give me Living in the 20s)3 points

more Saviors tonight! American Dream Bobby sox One eyed bastard Look ma Dillemma3 points

They did play 37 songs! It definitely didn't feel like one of their longest shows to me, so I also had trouble believing it until I counted them myself. I think the fact that they significantly reduced the number of hey-oh's and dropped the whole King for a Day act (don't know if this was the case already for tours between 21stCB and this one), is what makes it feel standard in length but be able to pack in more songs. Also that most of Dookie songs are not too long. And I am very glad you decided to go, it was great queuing and sharing the experience with you! I recorded only a couple videos and during some of "less remarkable" songs (Welcome to Paradise, Brain Stew, and American Idiot), but I can upload them later if anyone is interested. Also, the stage was amazing and for all the advantages of being in front row, I think a disadvantage is that I didn't realize exactly how cool it was until the end (I only noticed the screen on the top at the end, for instance). It was definitely an amazing show! I 100% agree with this. Fancy Sauce towards the end would be a dream. But if I had to compromise, I'd replace KYE or OEB with it... but some people would disagree, and I guess you cannot make everyone happy. I'm already content with what I got, but still keeping my fingers crossed for some Fancy Sauce in one of the other shows I'm going to 😄2 points

To everyone who went I hope you were "Having a Blast" lol (sorry that was a dumb joke lol)2 points

The stage design looks really cool. Also with the large screen on top of it!2 points

All the Saviors singles, woohoo! Very good sign for the future of Green Day live. They don't want to touch FOAM or Trilogy and I'm on the road to acceptance about that. Slide in a Rev Rad track and 39/Smooth every so often this is near perfection.2 points

I'm trying to download the video of Extraordinary Girl I was sent but I don't have a computer and my phone doesn't seem to like it. If I succeed I'll upload. Apparently Billie said "Green Day is on our eras tour" 🍭 (didn't mean to put the lollipop emoji ) It's cool they still had the plane even indoors2 points

I did a comparison of this month's numbers vs. last month- So for total numbers, Dilemma has passed TADIKM as the most played from Saviors. Daily numbers are down, which is expected, except for LMNB which is up. Daily retention numbers are decent, except for Living in the 20s and OEB which are down more than the others.2 points

No for sure! And it make sense considering AI has a lot of emotional/slower moments in its own right. I honestly think they could sometimes switch out Look Ma for Living in the 20s. That song sounded amazing when they played the album in full a couple months back!2 points

If we got Fancy Sauce between Minority and Good Riddance it would be absolutely perfect! It’s already perfect anyway tho:)2 points

not sure if this joke has been made before but i remember a couple of years ago when i watched livestreams gdc users lost their shit every time they (predictably) played KFAD and started petitions for it to be removed from the setlist2 points

I recently realized that Billie Joe has restricted my Instagram profile! I can comment on any of his posts, but only I can see my comment (it is hidden from everyone else), and and I can't tag him anywhere anymore 😕 . I swear I have never commented inappropriately and I have never disturbed him in private, except for responding to some stories, always in a friendly and respectful manner! Has anyone else noticed being in the same situation? I only realized it yesterday (a friend couldn't see my comment, so I did some tests). After researching, I found out that this happens when a user restricts a profile.1 point

On All By Myself, it looks like Tre is back to saying “oh yeah did I mention?” Meaning he no longer has an… yeah you get the picture1 point

I've noticed in all the Dookie songs this tour, Mike's bass sounds so much different from the live sound we've been used to for all those years. I didn't expect the difference between the old Gibson bass and his typical Fender Precision bass to be so obvious! But I do love the touch of him going back to his old bass for the Dookie songs, and Billie Joe going back to his satin white Les Paul Jr. for the American Idiot songs.1 point

I was one of 3 who wrote the note. At the time I didn’t take a picture. I will check with my friend to see if he did. I vaguely remember him taking a pic of it but then again it was 09 and it was a flip phone of some sort. I was the one who requested C&V but I meant the album. Obviously I was too vague sorry guys! my friend launched the note at the show on July 16, 2009 and Billie Joe saw it and pocketed it. Next day in Ottawa the set changed and the song was Coming Clean. That was a song on the list, we all loved that one. If I can get the image I will share but might blur out some stuff as we had some personal details on there.1 point

It looks like they got a big inflatable of the Dookie cloud on stage! They didn’t have that the first couple festival shows1 point

That’d be be amazing! I was thinking the choice of Saviors songs are mostly upbeat/fast-paced. Switching one of the ones included with something more emotional would be great. Fancy Sauce would be the best one, otherwise maybe Suzie Chapsticks or Goodnight Adeline.1 point

As a longtime Taylor fan, Billie going to the Eras Tour is possibly the hottest thing he’s ever done in my eyes. I can’t even tell you how happy this makes me.1 point

I swear to god if they don't do a small club tour around the US/Canada before the Saviors Tour I'm going to scream Fuck Green Day. Right now I'm really angry at them about these ticket prices.1 point
