It’s kind of annoying trying to find YouTube’s videos from this tour so far when all that gets uploaded are 35 American idiots, 26 Boulevards, 31 Basket Cases and 18 know Your Enemies. I did find a video of Novacaine/Rebel so I’m content 😁8 points

Great concert. I couldnt stop singing and dancing. Great pace, no kfad, no eeeeooooh. I got to listen to Whatsername and Homecoming 🤩 The stage production is amazing. The visuals, lots of pyro and fire,. Best yet I think. The Dookie plane was so funny 😂 On the bad side. I missed more Saviors songs. The sound wasnt perfect as I think billie and tre lost the beat a couple times. And the people around me (front stage mike side) were like statues. Oh and The Interrupters amazing once again.8 points

Hi All I have been looking over some photos from the European Saviors photos. I noticed Mike has been playing a Silverburst G3. I finally come across a clear photo which shows its an Epiphone, with a Mike Dirnt truss rod cover. I have had a quick look around and I dont think Epiphone have ever done a G3 in Silverburst? What do you all think? It does seem a little odd that Mike is playing an Epiphone, with the custom truss rod cover, in a color that has never been issued. However, Fender still sell his latest Roadworn P-Bass so he likely still has a contract with them?3 points

Just saw pics from latest show and came here to say holy shit he's wearing flares!!!!! And rocking them3 points

I wouldn't judge too much from a festival. Also if it is their own sound people hopefully the bad feedback will mean they sort it out for upcoming shows.3 points

Seeing that disgustingly filthy old bunny suit used as a mascot for a beverage company is hilarious to me Also Billie gazing at the bunny picture lol3 points

On this day 6 years ago (2 June 2018), The Longshot played in Philadelphia, PA. Billie's selfie from that day: 14 years ago (2010), Green Day played Skive Festival in Denmark. More photos: 15 years ago (2009), they played Know Your Enemy on the Tonight Show With Conan O'Brien. 22 years ago (2002), they played in Mansfield, MA on the Pop Disaster Tour. 30 years ago (1994), they played in Manises, Spain on the Dookie Tour. I am also learning the names of some European places I'd never heard of. 31 years ago (1993), they played the Whisky a Go Go in Hollywood. And 35 years ago (1989), they played the Davis Community Center. There's a video of the show on YouTube.2 points

If it was their own sound people, that wouldn’t be like them but of course the weather could be having an impact too. First show looked pretty windy.2 points

It sounds like they played Dilemma in a lower key. I like it just as much and imagine it’s easier on his voice, too.2 points

Green Day incredible as always, but what a boring crowd, I started to get desperate at one point., also adding the division with the front stage sector... Man, what a bummer. I highlight the inclusion of Lagwagon, Maid of Ace, The Hives and Interrupters in the show, Green Day playing with Lagwagon was amazing to me.2 points

Since they're headlining, their own people should be taking care of the sound. The feedback on Instagram is absolutely devastating but it looks like the overall organization of both festivals was bad which gives me some hope for the headline shows and the big/more established European festivals.2 points

I was going to buy Green Day tickets but then I got scared because on the news I read about how a hacker group named ShinyHunters hacked into Ticketmaster and stole 560,000,000 people's info and is selling it on the dark web. Including names, credit card info, etc. Stay safe out there.2 points

The comments on Social Media are starting to worry me a bit. Sound at both shows must have been terrible (too quiet, Billie barely audible). I hope this will change for the headline as well as the next festival shows.2 points

Billie cracking up watching the dookie plane crash is the best 😂 It looks like they flew it too low and people grabbed the wing and pulled it down. That’s a cool prop that needs some work2 points

It’s getting hard to tell where the band ends and the coffee company begins. “Yay! I’m going to see my favorite coffee company live!” 😂2 points

This is so cute from Billie's Instagram story from last night. Again that smile2 points

It looks like it will be. I always overhype things but I think factoring in how they sound at the moment mixed with how stacked the Setlist is, if the whole thing is indeed being streamed we can be in for the best Green Day proshot show since Reading 2013!1 point

I can answer. The song existed in 2004 and John Roecker’s picture of that CD proves it. They played it on 21cb tour because it was a fan request. It was requested by 3 fans in 2009 along with a list of old songs they wanted to hear and a personal note of thanks to the band. the next night they changed the setlist and began playing songs listed in the note. One of the requests was to release Cigarettes and Valentines so it could be heard. The request meant the album but they offered up the song on leg 2.1 point

I was at the show yesterday. Yes, Billie in some spots was almost inaudible again, as I checked my recording (Yes, I recorded it in almost full audio, maybe some day I would share it, but doesn't sound good) there was wind from time to time affecting the sound, but normal being an outdoor, I've been on worst shows. I love what they do with All By Myself, almost only for that song, the 100€ for the ticket were well paid off.1 point

I saw that too. At festivals is it the band's sound people or someone more general for everyone playing the festival?1 point
-
Maybe a full AI performance from this tour as a bonus for the documentary? 🙏1 point

Actually not. When they had a 3h set in 21st CB and Trilogy days they always played the same amount of time and songs on festival, same for revrad, same for hella mega. I am always optimistic that solo shows would be longer than festivas, bit this was never the case1 point

If they add a couple more Saviors songs for non festival shows I'll be happy, it's just the way it is when they're fitting in playing two albums in full. Agree Fancy Sauce would be best! KYE as a song is whatever but it's genuinely amazing live so I honestly don't mind if they always play it lol. It's short too. Because festivals are shorter and do often have a different setlist. It will be similar of course but it'll be interesting to see the first non festival setlist.1 point

On this day 2 years ago (1 June 2022), Green Day played in Berlin, Germany on the Hella Mega Tour. More photos: 6 years ago (2018), The Longshot played Baby's All Right in Brooklyn, NY. Now I think this is a special one, but I suppose I'm biased. 11 years ago (2013), Green Day played Emirates Stadium in London, England, where they broke the attendance record with an over-capacity crowd. I've been to a lot of Green Day shows since 2009, so I can confidently say this was Green Day at their absolute best. It was a pretty basic setup compared to their last big show in London at Wembley Stadium, but there was something about the atmosphere, the band's contagious joy and the sound of 65,000 people singing every word to every song – yes, even the trilogy ones – that made it unlike any other. I can still hear the crowd echoing "FIRST TIME!" in Missing You like it was yesterday, and when I remember hearing Brutal Love live, I think of looking back to see a sea of thousands of lighters and phones waving in the darkness at Emirates. Billie called it the "best night EVER" on Instagram and it totally was. More photos: 17 years ago (2007), the Working Class Hero music video was released. 22 years ago (2002), Green Day played Buffalo, NY on the Pop Disaster Tour. 30 years ago (1994), Green Day played in Zaragoza, Spain on the Dookie Tour. 31 years ago (1993), they played in Lake Elsinore, CA on the first leg of the Dookie Tour. I have no idea where that is. 33 years ago (1991), they played the Red Barn in Isla Vista, CA. Well, they actually played an acoustic set outside because the key was lost. Another photo: 34 years ago (1990), they played the Coffee House in Davis, CA, which is about 65 miles northeast of the Bay Area. And 35 years ago (1989), they played the Benicia Youth Center. Most people on GDC probably know this, but the Passalacqua Funeral Chapel is also up that way. Just finished the GDA article combining all of May's throwbacks. https://www.greendayauthority.com/news/6160/1 point

What I mean is even if they don't actually censor something they are not free to perform exactly as they might elsewhere. Could they wear a gay pride flag like they do at many shows for example? Doubtful. Just the fact they would even have to consider which parts of their shows could cause a problem means it isn't a place they should play imo. Especially given their former stance with Pansy Division - going from refusing to play venues that wouldn't book a queer support act to playing a venue where that act would risk being arrested or worse for performing isn't a good look.1 point
-
I think what I’m struggling with is this: During the Saviors promo, it was brought up in multiple interviews how well they took care of Pansy Division in the 90s and refused to play venues that wouldn’t let Pansy Division play, too. They talked a lot about the values they learned at Gilman, primarily about equality. That means something to me and is a huge point of pride for me in being a fan, as are all their progressive views and actions. That might not factor into why others are a fan and that’s totally fine, but it does for me. It is hard for me to reconcile them refusing to play a venue that won’t let a queer band open for them with now playing in a destination where queer people cannot legally exist. No, citizens are not their government, but you could argue that back in the 90s, not all people they refused to play for were homophobic — the band refused in principle, I’m sure fully knowing that some good people were missing out on a show because of it. As @MillenniumFan pointed out in their very thoughtful post, this isn’t the first time they’ve played in a problematic place, and where to draw the line here is difficult. But right now, playing in Dubai just feels like a particularly poor and hypocritical choice.1 point
-
Yeah it's nothing against anyone going to the show/ordinary residents of the country. But they're not going to UAE out of all the many countries they're not playing on this tour to play an expo "for the fans", it's for money.1 point

Kind of lame to play a country that oppresses LGBT+ and women to that extent and is built on slave labour tbh. If nothing else it seems like a terrible PR move1 point
