It's criminal that we'll probably never hear Brutal Love or Forever Now live again. Without a doubt the best closers and also some of the best songs Green Day have ever released. You can't change my mind.6 points

On this day 2 years ago (1 June 2022), Green Day played in Berlin, Germany on the Hella Mega Tour. More photos: 6 years ago (2018), The Longshot played Baby's All Right in Brooklyn, NY. Now I think this is a special one, but I suppose I'm biased. 11 years ago (2013), Green Day played Emirates Stadium in London, England, where they broke the attendance record with an over-capacity crowd. I've been to a lot of Green Day shows since 2009, so I can confidently say this was Green Day at their absolute best. It was a pretty basic setup compared to their last big show in London at Wembley Stadium, but there was something about the atmosphere, the band's contagious joy and the sound of 65,000 people singing every word to every song – yes, even the trilogy ones – that made it unlike any other. I can still hear the crowd echoing "FIRST TIME!" in Missing You like it was yesterday, and when I remember hearing Brutal Love live, I think of looking back to see a sea of thousands of lighters and phones waving in the darkness at Emirates. Billie called it the "best night EVER" on Instagram and it totally was. More photos: 17 years ago (2007), the Working Class Hero music video was released. 22 years ago (2002), Green Day played Buffalo, NY on the Pop Disaster Tour. 30 years ago (1994), Green Day played in Zaragoza, Spain on the Dookie Tour. 31 years ago (1993), they played in Lake Elsinore, CA on the first leg of the Dookie Tour. I have no idea where that is. 33 years ago (1991), they played the Red Barn in Isla Vista, CA. Well, they actually played an acoustic set outside because the key was lost. Another photo: 34 years ago (1990), they played the Coffee House in Davis, CA, which is about 65 miles northeast of the Bay Area. And 35 years ago (1989), they played the Benicia Youth Center. Most people on GDC probably know this, but the Passalacqua Funeral Chapel is also up that way. Just finished the GDA article combining all of May's throwbacks. https://www.greendayauthority.com/news/6160/5 points

Seeing that disgustingly filthy old bunny suit used as a mascot for a beverage company is hilarious to me Also Billie gazing at the bunny picture lol2 points

Part of me is hoping that the 3 songs in between Dookie and AI (KYE/Dilemma/Brain Stew) will be switched up every show... but that's likely just wishful thinking. Not complaining about Dookie and AI being played in full though!2 points

I think a playlist like this would be pretty sweet. But as I said, already the two albums is a dream come true for 20-years-ago Cristhyne. If they also play Fancy Sauce at the any of the shows I'm going to, that'd be just a cherry on top.2 points

The first time I heard Corvette Summer, I was like, "Wait a minute, I've heard this before, but when?" And then it hit me, that Instagram video, and it took me forever to find it!!!!!2 points

Since Ryan Baxley is also on tour with Green Day: do we think that this documentary will also cover Saviors? 🤔2 points

Do they still play Bohemian Rhapsody before the show starts? Also, I would stop with the ‘festivals vs non festivals’ talk and trying to know what the ‘real setlists’ are. It’s not that hard, THIS is their real setlist, I don’t know why so many people insist that it’s not just because it was a festival. If you get obsessed with that, you’re going to be supper disappointed when you see them play the same thing on non festivals. They will most likely change or add 1-2 songs at most, but that’s it.2 points

I already thought that Corvette Summer sounds very much like a FOAM song. Very interesting!2 points

https://www.instagram.com/p/B8Kypk4HfWe/?igsh=NjdiMWp1dWcxd3E3 “Thanks a lot Father of MoFo’s!!! We just blew up an amp!!!” Someone else linked me to this on Reddit and it confirms that Billie posted these a few days before FOAM was released!!!! And now that we know Corvette Summer was originally recorded for FOAM, I think we have a complete list of FOAM leftovers now Corvette Summer Fever Art of the Deal with the Devil Goodnight Adeline (Featuring Butch Walker on guitar) Here Comes the Shock Damn Juvenile Delinquents One Eyed Bastard2 points

lol, we had similar high hopes during Hella Mega, too. 🤣2 points

At the moment, I'm not very excited based on last night, but am reminding myself it was a festival show. I'm hoping the regular ones are better. I definitely want more Saviors songs, and they went over really well in the small shows. And I knew he'd be blond, but am still disappointed about that. At least I still have Kevin to look at. And yes, put any song in place of KYE, but at least Knowledge and RARAN were gone! Keep it that way.2 points

Did they play whatsername? It’s missing from setlist.fm, added look ma though1 point

Looks like a empty crowd for a festival headliner ? Edit Maybe many madrid citizens watch the football game tonight (champions league final)1 point

It’s getting hard to tell where the band ends and the coffee company begins. “Yay! I’m going to see my favorite coffee company live!” 😂1 point

From what I saw, it looked like a mashup of "We Will Rock You" and the Imperial March from Star Wars1 point

The band themselves clarified festivals would be “non album shows” beforehand it was very realistic, based on marketing, to expect a different set1 point
-
I thought that they would at least play Bobby Sox from Saviors as well. But hey, two songs from Saviors are better than no songs 😌1 point
-
Don't worry, you weren't the only one who didn't know lol. It took me months to figure out what OEB was. Not to mention TADIKM.1 point

Add Give Me Novacaine to that list, and this is exactly my feeling too. I at least got to hear Whatsername and Novacaine in one previous concert the one time, but never Homecoming. I had planned to attend just the one concert, but when they announced they'd be playing Dookie and AI in full I went a bit crazy and bought extra shows. 😂 No, tomorrow is also a festival. The show in Lyon (Wednesday 5th) is the first non=festival show. And I'm the opposite to you, I bought tickets for Lyon after they announced they'd play the albums in full because it was supposed to be the first show with the two full albums and I wanted to be there for that. So I am "pissed" that they played the full albums at this festival 😂1 point

I just watched a video of the show Intro from last night and they came out to a mashup of We Will Rock You and The Imperial March from Star Wars 🤣1 point

On this day 6 years ago (31 May 2018), The Longshot played in Pawtucket, RI. "Billie Joe saw people watching through the windows at The Met tonight and invited them all in saying, 'You're all on the guest list tonight.'" More photos: 22 years ago (2002), Green Day played Madison Square Garden in NYC on the Pop Disaster Tour. More photos: 26 years ago (1998), Green Day played the WBCN River Rave on the Nimrod Tour. And 30 years ago (1994), they played in Oviedo, Spain on the Dookie Tour. You'll have to share your memories of the Garage show when the anniversary comes around!1 point

Was really hoping for more Saviors... ya know, being the Saviors tour and all. I'd be fine to scrap KYE, Brain Stew, and Minority for a few more Saviors tracks. Would love to see Look Ma No Brains thrown in at least.1 point
-
It was so sad when this didn't happen. But then they made good on it and played here a year and a half later1 point
-
I'd be happy if they changed KYE for almost any other song (preferably Fancy Sauce because I'm obsessed - but I'd even take any other song from 21stCBD) in the upcoming shows. I am a bit surprised though that they played the two albums at a festival, since they had said they'd do that only for no-festival shows. I would have guessed they'd use the festival to play more songs from Saviors and some additional hits from older albums.1 point
-
I’m torn. On the one hand, I‘m stoked to see that they played both albums in full at a festival. But only two Saviors songs is really disappointing. Yes, it was a festival, but it was still officially part of the Saviors tour. Maybe they’ll mix things up a little, although I doubt it. I don’t want to complain too much, this is still an insane setlist, it just feels wrong to me to (mostly) ignore your latest album.1 point
-
So did they even play any Saviors songs apart from TADIKM? So much for the Saviors tour 🥺1 point

I‘m sure they‘ll play both albums in full even at Festival Shows. 90 minutes of 140 for Dookie/AI are enough time for a few Saviors and classics. Btw Rock am Ring/RTL+ officially confirmed they‘re gonna stream Green Day at Rock am Ring, hopefully some here can save it for the download section 🙏1 point

Well, Billboard has finally tightened things up and I can't get into the charts anymore. Can only see the #1s (still #1 on Alternative Airplay, Rock and Alternative Airplay, and Canada Rock) and if there's any new peaks (there's not). Edit- my work computer was slow enough to let me in- Mainstream Rock Airplay fell from 7 to 9, Hot Rock and Alternative fell from 32 to 41, and Hot Alternative fell off the chart.1 point
