All 4 Singles are so fucking good. My Hype is so big now. cant wait!10 points

I donāt get all the hate for this video, would you have preferred a static image or a loop like the Holy Toledo one? Itās not a music video, itās a visualizer to accompany the song release on YouTube.10 points

I believe it was in August of 2020 that Michael Imperioli (Christopher in The Sopranos) revealed that James Gandolfini (who played Tony Soprano) was a huge Green Day fan and would listen to Dookie in his trailer, even naming his dog Dookie and using it in his email address. Depending on when this song was written, I wonder if this revelation inspired the song in some part. Billie mentioned this in the new Armchair Podcast episode so it must have been something that stuck with him/the band.10 points

Just got a Spotify notification to pre-save the album and it has the tracklist showing and a countdown. Itās getting close!9 points

So interesting that they paid for TADIKM video themselves too8 points

Iām glad they released a song we already knew because Iād like to save SOME of this record for release day lol7 points
-
Less than 2 weeks/2 weeks away from the album, wow we've come so far since the 1972 speculation thread š7 points

Iāve already listened to One Eyed Bastard more times than Iāve ever listened to So what in my life, so I say so what? OEB IS A BANGER! BADDA BING BADDA BING BADDA BOOOOOM7 points

No knowledge except for the fact that I have seen the Godfather 1000 times and itās almost like he is writing while watching. š Iāll make you an offer you canāt refuse. Get on your knees while you kiss my ring. The movie came out in 1972 which was supposed to be the name of the album. Just seems obvious to me.7 points

I'm loving everything about this Record! 4 bangers out and 11 more to come6 points

Greatly enjoyed this while driving last night. The magic leaves story gave me a good chuckle. I too wish it was the full 2 hours. I love listening to Billie tell stories and remanence about their beginnings. I'll be listening to this again because I'm sure I missed something.6 points

This sounds like a @That Dude song if I've ever heard one! Can totally picture him at a dive bar at closing time chanting at the top of his lungs "REVENGE IS SWEETER THAN WINE!!!!!" before the bartender swiftly escorts him out6 points

My reaction to The American Dream is Killing me and Look Ma, No Brains: "Pretty decent". My reaction to Dilemma and One-Eyed Bastard "They're pretty fucking good"6 points

I also really liked the segment that he talked about his mom. She has lived through so much historical moments. And to be 91 and still going for a walk everyday and still have that self independence, it's amazing.6 points
-
That was a really cool reveal. Thereās no budget for music videos anymore and they didnāt have to bother but they financed it themselves. Heās like, what else am I gonna spend my money on?6 points

Yeah I love sitting on my couch and listen to the whole record on headphones. So maybe thats something they could change in the future. Something like a sign up for a prelistening party, where everyone gets a headphone (or bring your own) and a booklet/lyrics and listen on your own. After that you can talk with other fans and their opinions about it. That would be nice5 points
-
I'm just gonna sit and be like fuck my life has changed so much since the last green day album5 points
-
I'm going mainly for the goodies lol. Gimme that Saviors swag! I don't expect hearing the album will give me an idea of what it's like but it'll be fun to hang out with other fans. There aren't a lot of in person listening parties these days so why not?5 points
-
When I think about my nephew whoās ten, it really does remind me how young that is. To know someone that long, grow up with them like Mike and Billie did, itās amazing.5 points

Great interview! I normally can't stand Dax, but gotta say he was a great interviewer who knew his shit and remained engaging throughout. Love to hear Billie being honest about his substance issues and that he's currently sober and doing well š¤ Really fun interview! It feels like we've got the full version of Green Day stories and factoids we've heard before. Billie seemed relaxed and like he enjoyed himself. Just wish it was actually 2 hours and not Dax and Mina (?) in the last 40 minutes or so. I don't want to hear them without Billie š¤£5 points

Definitely a catchy song and I really enjoy the bridge/outro. However, I still think itās easily the weakest of the four songs we heard so far, especially lyrically. But thatās fine, as Iām pretty sure that there are better songs on the album. I donāt think the song is single-worthy but I guess they just released it to create some more hype before January 19. It doesnāt even have a proper music video which makes it feel less like a real single. But like I said, itās still fun to listen to.5 points

In the Armchair Expert Instagram post, lots of comments about how he still looks so young, was peopleās high school crush, and is still so cute lol. But my favorite one is, āFor whatever reason I just assumed I wouldnāt like him. But heās just so damn likable.ā If anyone feels like looking at a comment section that isnāt unhinged, this is a really nice one.5 points

Love the official mixing of the song! The guitar is a bit Holiday esque at times, love that. And the bass sounds amazing š¤©5 points

We now know 5 new songs (1981 not being a studio version yet) and we have 10 more to come. We have more than a FOAMF full lenght album to hear, its so good. lol 15 songs FTW!4 points

I have purposefully avoided looking at opinions on this song and I had no idea what to expect. Oh my god, might be my favorite so far? Out of what you expect for their sound but itās incredible and so heavy!4 points

I just remembered his story about how he and Mike played with leaves when they were little that they thought were magical. So cute. I know theyāve been friends forever, but that put into perspective just how little they were and how special that bond must be.4 points
-
Yes he does it alot less now than he use to it might of been a nervous tick. And so Glad he's sober and doing well4 points
-
I'm only a half hour or so in, and I am honestly STUNNED at the lack of "yknows." He sounded really comfortable and not bored. It was nice to hear.4 points

@Karol Oliveira I totally agree. Weāve heard pieces of how Billie and Adrienne first got together before, but this was the most complete version Iāve ever heard of when they first met up through being newly married. She seems like a really awesome (and clearly very patient and loyal) person, and itās sweet how he still talks about her so adoringly. The fact that Billie has such a strong marriage, friendships, relationship to his kids, etc. is really admirable to me, because to me it just shows heās got his priorities straight despite his struggles and busy lifestyle.4 points
-
For anybody confused, this song is a tribute to the 1972 film āThe Godfather.ā4 points
-
The album version mix is much better! I appreciate the bass being louder, the drum mix different, and the background vocals/harmonies in the final chorus.4 points
-
To be honest I still donāt really get the comparison to So What. Sure, the riff goes down the scale in a similar way but the guitar notes are different. Iād never have picked up on anything if people hadnāt mentioned it. And I was a huge fan of that song when it came out!3 points
-
A popular move as well as a money saving device. Well played3 points
-
Thank you!! And I remember someone in the 1972 thread mentioned that they attended one of CLA's masterclasses and that he played a clip of OEB for them!!! They must have thought they were going to release it sooner at the time.3 points
-
OEB is officially the last single before the album release They were talking about OEB, no?3 points
-
Not the best song written but fun, energetic and will be a banger live especially with a good crowd3 points
-
to me the weakest song is the american dream is killing me, and i don't dislike it, however the three that came next were better to me, the beat for one eyed bastard gives me east jesus nowhere vibes3 points
-
I would say itās a tribute to The Godfather and The Sopranos, especially with the chorus!3 points
-
In OEB final version the tambourine and handclaps were removed Some vocals are overdubbed too3 points
