  2. This is extra special considering I didn’t expect anything more from them until NYE. Like everyone here I could watch this kind of content for hours.

  5. I get that. My irl friends support my green day love but none of them care about them or the new album. That's why I'm glad I have the GDC fan to Fangirl too.

  6. The Dilemma music video now has more views than the LMNB one on Youtube.

  7. That was awesome. Always love seeing the recording process.

  8. After many years of the CDs being the way I always listened to this.... I was kind of stunned to discover not only did the 1991 LP mix sound better (Obviously it's in hifi), but it used a slightly different mix compared to the CDs and pretty sure all the LPs that came later. Christie Road for example sounds insane. It sounds like Mike's bass was a bit naturally louder than the guitar and for some reason, every subsequent release has since changed that. Not even the 1992 Lookout CD kept the same mix. Like they wanted more emphasis on Billie and lowered Mike to the point where that beautiful bass slapping is almost non existent.

  9. Yup- "It ranks the 40 most-played songs on alternative and modern rock radio stations...The chart is based solely on radio airplay ranked by a calculation of the total number of spins each song receives per week. As of 2012, approximately 80 alternative radio stations across the United States are electronically monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week by Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems."

  10. Could be more of a BOBD or WMUWSE “ballad” that has some guitar and general appeal.

  12. I’m not sure why - because this has always been the case for legit decades now - but for some reason I’m feeling really bummed that no one IRL (friends, fam) care about Green Day at all 🥲 it’s lonely out there y’all

  13. Would be amazing if it were American Dream, Look Ma, Bobby Sox, One Eyed Bastard and Dilemma. But no. It's going to be: "American Idiot" "Basketcase" "Boulevard of Broken Dream" "When I Come Around" and then "Dilemma."

  14. It makes me happy that they seemed to get a lot of footage from this recording process. Hope we get to see more, that was great to watch!

  15. When you're walking through the grocery store, and double back to see if they still have Oakland Coffee. Not to buy it, just to see if it's still there.

  16. I think airplay charts refer to radio plays not streaming numbers?

  17. I have a good feeling about this record. I haven't been so excited for a album in a while. I was just wondering if they are planning to release father to a son as a single and when, bc normally on the album release day the drop a single with video(or at least that's how market works nowadays) but I don't see them releasing a ballad along with the whole album to approach the media. Unless that ballad IS very good 👀

  18. I would love a documentary too, but Billie said in a recent interview something like there is no need for a documentary because you can simply upload old videos on TikTok

  20. We've got a pretty good grasp on how the album will unfold, I believe. The first four songs are of the "the world sucks" variety. The next four whiplash back and forth with contrasting personalities to keep us from spiraling down a dark hole with Dilemma and Goodnight being bleak and 1981 and Coma City just blasting fun Pop Punk into the sky like there's no tomorrow. No party jams, just fun rock music. Then I think Corvette Summer and Suzie Chapstick will transition us into the more serious, personal resolution that will be found in the last leg of the album, the part of the record that could contain the most surprises. You might see the alternating goofy/serious dynamic throughout the entire track list with a few exceptions as well.

  22. Seems like one of the only ways for music to reach the masses these days is to go viral on TikTok, so hopefully this will be helpful in the lead up to Saviors!

  23. These kinds of videos are always so thrilling, guys!! Experiencing their studio sessions through the video and seeing how a song comes to life... I'm already dreaming of a documentary on the making of 'Saviors'!

  24. It’s cool to see how relaxed they were during this recording process too, even AI you could tell was stressful, and 21CB was apparently extremely so

  25. Could we be getting a documentary? It's been about 10 years since Cuatro came out isn't it?

  26. with christmas and the new year starting i am 99% sure we will get another single shortly before the lp release, just to remind people that GD are about to drop a new lp

  27. Father to a Son is my guess since it has been specifically mentioned in articles and interviews

  28. My guess is they’ll play their Grey Cup set + Dilemma, but I’d love if they picked a different song off Dookie instead of Basket Case just to mix it up from that last performance.

  29. I think Father to a Son will be the next single, but it won’t drop until the album release or after.

  30. There's one minute left for midnight and the new year. Everything goes quiet, the stage lights are dimmed down, suddenly, a loud bang is heard and all the pink lights on stage are now at maximum brightness. Lady Cobra is standing in the middle of the stage. Billie starts with the iconic guitar riff and the initial lyrics "Taking a ride to my old haunt..." It is the official live debut of NIGHTLIFE. RIGHT AS THE CLOCK STRIKES MIDNIGHT. All the members of the audience explode, literally (Massive outbreak of spontaneous combustion) because their performance is so fire. 🔥🔥🔥 That's what I imagine is going to happen.

  32. I never realized just how much I appreciated this era until I listened to "Father of All..." and "The American Dream Is Killing Me" back to back. That feeling of bewilderment when I heard "Father of All..." for the first time just crept back. Mind you, I'm someone who will defend this album, but I just wanted to cry to the heavens when I heard American Dream afterwards.

  34. I'm guessing TADIKM, Basket Case, Boulevard of broken dreams, Holiday, Dilemma will be the 5 songs (in no particular order).
    1 point
  35. I’m guessing it’s more like, they’re the first band to play 5 songs on the show? Which would make sense. I usually tune into these shows and they have artists play 2-3 at most. They will almost certainly play TADIKM and popular AI/Dookie songs, so while it grammatically implies they’ll be playing songs live for the first time, I highly doubt that lol.

  39. Yeah but without the parenthesis it's ''We’re playing not one, not two but FIVE SONGS for the first time ever!!!'' So what songs did Green Day never played live?
    1 point
  40. I just knew they had to be back on Rockin' Eve this year, but I sure as hell wasn't expecting 5 songs!!! Playing out the year with The American Dream Is Killing Me will be oh so fitting!

  41. Will the “live” debut of dilemma also be prerecorded if they’re doing a coverups show that night?

  42. Not really sure where to put this. Someone asked where it’s from and there was a reply “Amazon music”, it’s clearly new, and looks awesome https://www.instagram.com/stories/gdpunxrock/3261496829597237873?utm_source=ig_story_item_share&igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
