And even more from Billie's Instagram story May have missed one or two (he posted so many!)8 points

These interviews feel like they last two minutes because they’re just so fun to watch. Was happy to hear Billie say he was surprised by how positively the new singles are being received. They seem super proud of the new material.8 points

There’s a better interview here for iHeartRadio CA just in case no one’s seen yet.7 points

I could not agree more, I can never get enough of these interviews, still hoping for something much longer, maybe at album launch 🤞🏼🤞🏼❤️❤️6 points

My favorite part is the first ten seconds just watching them get settled. I love their dynamic Billie: Anyone want the middle? Mike: No we keep the most important guy in the middle. Billie: (laugh) Stop! Mike gives Billie his pillow and he keeps it between them so they can share it. 💚6 points

They seem to have a really healthy relationship with their craft nowadays. They're doing what they love and putting real effort into it. If people like it, great. If not, they're content knowing they followed their passion. They also understand that, even if an album or a song doesn't get widespread acclaim, there will still be many who love what they're putting out (lots of people did like FOAM, and it's safe to say the Trilogy's finally been embraced by most of the fans). Anyway, that's a great way to approach life.6 points

I like that one because you see them interact at the beginning, I can never get enough of them laughing together.5 points

A few surprise bits of info this time. Billie Joe does most of the talking as usual. Tre has a couple of interesting points to share. Then right at the end, mr quite man himself Mike issues a stunner. "Put the work in, and care about the song. People may not love every song, but they're gonna love a lot of it, if you put the effort in and time, give a shit and do it right." Woohoo! Holy shit. What an amazing statement. That says it all, what more can you ask for. That's what it's all about. Thats what GD are about. Nice one Mike. Love it, love it, love it. The vibes I'm getting off the band in these interviews, is telling me this Saviors album is gonna be huge.4 points

He didn’t even seem aware that they released music in 2016. I wish we could get some actual fans asking questions sometimes.4 points

I'm thinking maybe 1981 was originally titled 1972, and this would make sense when they were celebrating their 50th birthdays last year. Maybe the chorus went like this: We're gonna party like it's 1972 We're gonna party like it's 1972 We're gonna party like it's 1972 We're gonna party like it's 19723 points

What would you ask them? here's my questions: "why has this record taken so long to come together and how did 1972 die?" "Some bands leak stuff on purpose. Do you guys operate like that or does the label do that kind of stuff and how do you feel about leaked music?" "Was there any nefarious reasoning behind you guys putting out Father of All, and are there any of those songs you guys want to perform at a later date? Same for Trilogy songs" "What's up with these song titles? Did a certain Dude help with that part?"3 points

I just don't understand why the idiot interviewers can't ask more details about the album, obviously green day want to talk about it but these morons have very short attention spans and refuse to follow up on anything related to saviors no one cares about anniversary crap that's not important promoting saviors should be the main focus and any interview should be about that not favorite foods or anything mundane3 points

Wow!! So TADIKM was originally written for FOAM but he didn't want to make that album political at all!!!3 points

Lot of shit happening in my life and ended up having the most distant pre-release phase since I became a fan of this band in 2004. Kinda happy with it in the end since I didn’t over consume the two songs we got so far as I did with other releases in the past, and listening to them again today I still got that fresh excitement feeling. Might be because of this but my hype for the record is growing so much ❤️ Since I’ve been away from the fanbase conversation for a while, did we get any concrete hint on which song will be the next single and when it will be released?3 points

Eh, not a big fan of this one. Good chat and all but a bunch of irrelevant subjects.2 points

I suppose the next single release date & title has already been decided. And when and how that will be announced and promoted. They're not gonna answer that question in advance at a Interview. One question I'm sure they would be ok with is to tell us the journey to the new album? Starting in London. Was there originally an EP planned? And what happened to 1972 idea for instance.2 points
-
Right, exactly!! They can't reveal too much about it until we actually get to hear it. On the other hand, we already have that track by track description thing where they say the Saviors song isn't noteworthy, but of course we'll be the judge of that!! Another thought I have is that maybe the description of Saviors somehow got lost in translation?2 points

I am sure questions and all that are talked about before the interviews. What they can and cannot ask. GDC 🙄2 points

I messed up. I'm releasing a song on Spotify December 14th, which will hopefully give Saviors enough breathing room to find success. I wouldn't want my meteoric rise to fame to take anything away from the boys. If I see them struggling from high atop my golden thrown on top of the music industry, I will thrown them a rope if they need. Lord know Green Day have helped me more than once, it's the least I could do. But I think we'll be okay. I kind of do a longshot type thing where it's a "band" but not really. Anyway. I got sick of American Dream is Killing Me, but now I'm back to listening to it and I'm not sick of it anymore. YAY! And I've never gotten sick of Look Ma, No Brains! He's really saying Mom and not Ma. My son loves it, my dad says he can't understand the words. And my dog is kind of neutral on it. Everybody's pumped for Father and Son up next, but I'm telling you there's other gems on the album that are INSANE and would get a lot of attention as a single. Maybe. Father and Son could be the fourth single after that. Then Bobby Sox as a final fifth?2 points

When will C&V drop? What is your opinion on Rush? Which song from American Idiot was the first one that was written? How different was it back then vs what we got on the album? Why was When It’s Time omitted from so many albums? Was Minnesota Girl and Things I Heard Today ever considered for C&V or any album before or after? It’s such a shit question. Why would anyone ever do something like a sequel to an album? It’s not a fucking movie. I can understand asking from the perspective of returning to that style or form of music but to make a sequel?? Yuck!2 points

I don’t expect the average person to know, but I expect music journalists to know because it’s literally their job, particularly when you’re about to interview the band. I think the American Dream/American Idiot thing is what will cause every journo to ask if this is a sequel or similar thing so I’m sure they’re prepared to answer that question a lot. Personally I prefer an album that reflects a bit of everything they’ve done over thirty years to a rehash of one thing they’ve already done. I look forward to this album reflecting a range of styles like Nimrod versus something that’s all very samey like 21CB/Revrad2 points

I really enjoyed this interview overall, but I died a little when he implied they didn’t release music in that time period. That’s a huge oversight as an interviewer — if you plan to make a comment like that, double check their discography first! Extremely polite of them to not say anything lol (especially because not only did they release music in 2016, but several songs on that album were political!).2 points

I'm sure I can speak on behalf of everyone to say, nice to see you back. Sorry you've been in a bad place of late. Hope your life gets better soon. Take good care of yourself. Everyone on here is special. ❤️ I think we're all rooting for 'Father To A Son' as next single. Are you listening GD.2 points

I think this is just something that GD has to expect. People not really knowing anything about their post-AI stuff (apart from 21 Guns maybe). I don't think of any of their albums as AI part 2, because they're all just their own thing. I guess we don't exactly know what the interviewer means by AI part 2. Does he mean something as successful as AI, something in the vein of 21CB or RevRad or some sort of sequel to AI?1 point

Yeah, writing time doesn’t have anything to do when it was actually recorded. Both things we’ve heard about that song’s creation can be true at once. I’m REALLY pumped that they’re intending to play more off of Dookie and AI than normal as a celebration of those anniversaries. I think there’s a chance the Saviors Tour could give us a serious setlist shakeup for the first time in many years.1 point

I love it when you find the rare TV appearance where the camera operator is clearly a Fangirl because the camera never leaves the band 😂 bless them.1 point

Highly disagree. It’s been 10 years and it is pot. As a society we can’t walk on egg shells everywhere we go and with everyone we talk to. Part of being post-rehab is saying “no” in these situations. Alcohol and pot are part of society and while the respect towards people who do say “no” is rightfully and thankfully increasing, Billie will be in these situations for the rest of his life and can’t expect everyone to know his personal situation, especially in this case where it wasn’t made public.1 point

Leading up to FOAMF, I remember thinking the New Year's Eve show (19 into 20) was on one hand legendary, and on the other hand, an example of a spiraling Billie. He was pretty gone by the end of that night if I remember correctly. The new record/tour was coined as a "party" record, and they all seemed to be projecting that pretty hard, but Billie, due to his addiction, would not able manage that and maintain any kind of control. It's a disease, and it is one hell of a monster. I kind of wonder if canceling that tour and covid didn't save him in a way, ya know? Right now, he seems in a very healthy place, and he is firing on all cylinders. I hope he has the support he needs to stay that way. Touring is a very tough life style to be sober, but others have done it, but you also see why so many slip up time and time again. I like sober Billie... Drunk Billie makes me cringe (sorry lived with an alcoholic, so sensitive subject!) I also like alive Billie, and he has a much better chance staying alive this way, right? We don't need to know the deets, that's all his business, and he'll share what he wants, when he wants, but as someone related to more than one addict, I wish him nothing but the best in his attempt to stay sober.1 point
