I think in the past GD has overhyped records. Obviously the trilogy seemed to be much more massive than it actually was at first. Revolution Radio as well felt a bit overhyped, I think we all lost our heads a bit with Bang Bang and then realized it was one song of a small handful of songs like that. Green Day came blazing out saying Foamf was going to rock and be a dirty record and it just was hardly an EP. They’ve been quiet about this one, no stupid stunts so far. I find when Billie is quiet prior to a release the music is usually better. Im getting 21cb vibes as well (maybe its that guitar lick) but even the way they teased little portions of songs it feels like how they did it in 08-09. For a band with longevity theres always a time where they come back around and deliver like the old days. Sabbath when they made their last comeback, Rush with Vapor Trails etc. and especially in the times we are in now where pop music tried to manufacture punk again and then this set off an interest in 2000s pop punk revival - no better time to let GD’s music do the talking. I think this is a legit record, no band invests in Oceanway just to make an album for shits and giggles. This is going to be a real record.

october 24th comes and a video is uploaded to all their social medias: billie joe awakens and says 'ahhh, i feel well rested and energized, however, i always start my day with a fresh cup of oakland coffee for that extra kick'. Camera cuts and it's an announcement for Oakland Coffee 'American Dreams' Flavor (whatever that tastes like)

The only good thing to come out of GDC being down sometimes is that everyone gets a break from your tedious bullshit.

I looked into the metadata of the video and the track they used is called "01 American Dream_Up 3_(eq 4-3) 96Khz 24Bit.wav". So i guess the name of the single is "American Dream" and the "01" could mean that it's the first track for the new album!

If "The American Dream is Killing Me" is actually the album title (which I think would be fucking awesome), I don't think there is any doubt that we are looking at an album more in the realm of AI and 21st CB...and that makes me excited beyond belief.

I love how people were panicking about how we weren't going to get anything even though it was obvious we were I know people say this every time they release new stuff but this really is giving off AI/21CB vibes. Pretty sure Sweet (American) Dreams is going to be the album title, while The American Dream is killing me will either be a song title (maybe the lead single) or a lyric. OEB is absolutely not going to be the lead single. It might be 1981 (I hope not cause that doesn't seem like a great single or even like a very good song, maybe it'll sound better on the album) The wait doesn't seem that long to me. The single was probably always intended to be released towards the end of October and it's only been announced now to fit in the whole "when September ends" meme. They could've announced the song/album closer to the release date but I don't care that it's still 3 weeks away. We've finally gotten some news, I'm just gonna be happy about that So the actual letters didn't seem to matter at all. It was just the fonts they were showing us. What's with the pink though since the Sweet (American) Dreams pic just has white letters on black background

You can then hit "Snooze" and fill our what seems to be a newsletter address form, labeled a "wake up call." Then you get the message "Sweet (American) Dreams" when you fill it out.
