Listening to 21CB and I just keep thinking to myself regardless of the level of songwriting (which I'm actually still hopeful for after 1981 despite what some are saying) I am so excited for another record engineered by Chris Dugan at Ocean Way with CLA mixing - and of couse Rob Cavallo producing the thing. One of my favourite things about listening to Nimrod through to 21st Century, as a freelance producer/engineer, is being able to turn them up loud on a really nice monitoring system and aurally gawk at the pristine production. There was a Gearspace thread back in the day where Dugan answered a whole load of questions about mics, preamps etc etc on 21CB and to have a new record equally massive sounding to geek out about and give me new reference tracks for mixing would be such a great thing. I might've posted almost this exact thing in here before but alas that's how much I'm looking forward to this6 points

I've still not heard the new FOB or Foo Fighters albums. Idk why. I really liked the new Paramore album This Is Why though. It took a few listens to really grow on me but I definitely think it's in their top 3 I don't like Edging either. The only way I think the new blink album can impress me is if the rest of the album is very different from Edging. I do have pretty high hopes for Sum 41's album because they have been doing interesting things for their last few albums2 points

it'n not a montage, it's just the credits from MTV's Jaded In Chicago. I hope it means that they are releasing it on their Youtube2 points

What I love about watching the PVHS show is knowing that only four years later theyād be playing Woodstock and MSG. And if you had told them that then they would never have believed you2 points

I think they wanted to show fans talking about the band back cuz that quality looks like it's from a video they downloaded on youtube1 point

Itās a quick montage of old concert footage, Dookie era, with credits at the end and the caption is ālet the good times rollā followed by movie, explosion and guitar emojis #Dookie30.1 point

Ok, so I canāt share it for some reason, but Green Day just posted on IG, a movie clip. https://instagram.com/stories/greenday/3180138023060523401?utm_source=ig_story_item_share&igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== hope itās worked this time.1 point

For me FOB. I have my doubts for blink cause I dont really like the last stuff with Tom (especially his singing voice) and I hate āEdgingā. Miss their old stuffā¦. But hope the last Sum 41 album has a lot of heavy stuff1 point

Blinkās momentum is strictly on the fact that this is temporary. Theyāre still horrible live and letās be honest Edging is a horrible song. Iād rather be Green Day right now. They have been consistent over a longer span of time. Even with Blinkās highs, they still never reached the heights of Green Day during Dookie, AI or even 21cb for that matter. Green Day has a much wider fan base and appeals to a wider demographic. Good for Blink to have this moment but theyāre average songwriters at best (they have a few good ones, a lot of average and a bunch of bad ones), theyre below average live and as I said before itās temporary. Tom isnāt going to hang out there for long. Heāll want to go off and do his thing. And Travis probably needs to shoot the next season of the crackdashians or something.1 point

I would love to have a new Blink, Sum and Green Day record at the same time. Feeling like 2000's.1 point

My top of the year is So Much for Stardust, but im sure the new blink will prob overtake it and if the new Sum 41 and gd come out this year, those prob will too.1 point

imo maybe unlikely, but not impossible blink have gained super high popularity and attention, surrounding themselves as persons (marks cancer, tom being back, travis being part of kardashian clan somehow now) and with their new song and album anticipation, sold out shows, edging being their top song on alternative charts since their old days i would go as far as saying that blink have currently the better "momentum" ofc there wont be hard delays, but imaging green days management plan to make the lp announcement etc on last october week, but blink may release their new album on last october week, i can totally see the gd announcement getting postponed for 1 week for example, maybe unlikely, but not impossible1 point

I'm also pretty sure Revolution Radio released on the exact same day as NOFX's album First Ditch Effort1 point

I saw on my cousin's dog's Threads account that the whole album, titled Bratwurst, releases in negative three months.1 point

Thereās something really special about the Pinole Valley High School performance. To think theyāre playing those songs and kids are just casually watching or walking by. Just another rock band setting up playing. Fast forward years later and these songs get played at massive festivals and venues now to thousands of people a night. Thereās also a special 93 performance (blanking on where the show was sorry!) where they played a lot of dookie songs. I think those 93 shows are special because you get that intimate show of a band peaking and the setlists contain a mix of the first 3 albums.1 point

Instrumentallly speaking, what album does 1981 remind you guys of? Im feeling longshot or uno based on just a few listens. Just straight pop rock i guess. I even hear some beatles in the melody.1 point

You guys know I have to hear every song ever, right? Currently going through @é¾ē¾åŖ list and at Cattle Decapitation's The Storm Upstairs. Not very Green Day like but holy poop, it's good.1 point

Billie messed up the lyrics but still an incredible performance. My shallows the only thing that walks beside me. https://fb.watch/mFDHYVhzVL/?mibextid=NnVzG81 point
