GD Fans waiting for new GD Music. What is the problem with that? lol

Agree on everything except 21cb… 21cb is one of the most unique GD albums and has some incredible songwriting as a whole. A lot of people talk about Warning being an underrated record (and it is) but 21cb might be their most underrated. It was the perfect follow up to AI. KYE might feel flat for us as a lead single but it was successful as hell and 21 Guns was a megahit. The rest of the songs were all new songs there was no recycling and the touch of piano on those tracks were refreshing especially in the viva la gloria songs. Most bands can’t successfully follow up even a 3X platinum record well let alone a 6x Platinum record. GD did a stellar job on following up on Dookie as well with Insomniac, which is also often overlooked.

No all I have is Green Day. Why are you telling me how to live my life? It’s far more relevant that 90% of what gets posted here. I’d rather an IG post that sounds like a teaser over the 1,000th fake track list.

For many of us its our favorite band and means a lot to us. Going to concerts is my biggest hobby so there‘s nothing wrong with it and wait for the favorite band to release music and tour announcement. Sure you can go to other bands in the meantime like I do but people get slowly excited for green day right now

I think everything and every genre is in style or back in style whatever. The music scenes from what I’ve seen all over the world had changed or evolved so much since streaming has become so conventional. Fleetwood Mac can still top charts with 30-40 year old songs if they go viral on Tik Tok. I don’t think it matters as long as it’s a good or fun or catchy or interesting song. If it’s Tik Tok worthy that’s new fans. If it’s Green Day worthy diehard GD fans with lose their minds with happiness. A lot of legacy bands are having huge stadium tours and it looks like people of all ages are into it. No. People will be upset. Haha.

21CB is nowhere near their best selling record. American Idiot, Dookie, Nimrod & Insomniac all easily beat 21CB in terms of sales. 21CB has more streams than Nimrod/Insomniac because it's a more recent album If 21CB is a rehash of older material, then you have to have the same opinion about Insomniac which is similar to Dookie in a lot of ways too. Restless Heart Syndrome and East Jesus Nowhere sound pretty unique to me. Yes, RHS is similar to BOBD in some ways and lyrically shares similarity with Novocaine but it is definitely not a rehash, I think it actually is better than Novocaine in terms of the lyrical content. I don't understand how EJN is similar to Holiday apart from the fact that they both have a bass led section in the middle. The guitars do not sound similar on these songs at all to me

Their best selling record is Dookie. I think 21cb went Platinum so it sold just over 1 million in the states. EJN and Holiday arent even in the same key And for some of the other similarities do you mean they’re similarly written songs? I mean coming from a drummer here, the drums are playing that way to stay out of the way of the vocals. When you EQ the last you want to do is try to wrestle the voice over some toms or crash cymbals or overactive snare on songs like 21 Guns and Boulevard. and the hives? C’mon man they’re not even a pimple on Billie’s ass. Horseshoes was written way before 21cb were The Hives even a thing at that time?

They actually played it five times (Denver through to Mountain View) and I think it must have been with the intention of putting it on the live album which became Awesome as Fuck. It's the recording from the Phoenix show on the album.

Yeah and if you were around here online during that time there was almost like a feeling that they were just gonna say “fuck it lets trickle out the songs and eventually release them”. I’d honestly take it now over a new album. We got God’s Favorite Band now we need a modern day Shenanigans. I don’t think the songs are as bad as some people are thinking they are. It’s just that American Idiot is that much better. I would assume stacked against everything post-21cb that c&v has to be better. Their so-called “decline” at the time was more about reaching audiences not indicative of the quality of their songwriting.

It was always baffling to me that they played C&V twice on that tour, added it to Awesome As Fuck and then never mentioned it again.
