  1. And now back to our regularly scheduled programming of absolute radio silence for years

  2. Maybe she is still pre-occupied by 1981 and her two kids in high school think that she's uncool.

  3. As @Rumpelstiltskin2000 said, he had black hair in Oslo on October 12th 2009 and showed up to Dortmund, Germany on October 14th blonde. Back to black on November 12th in Turin. Stayed black for most of the rest of 2009. Looks like Asia tour he was black and from what I can tell whole Europe# 2 leg. Showed up in NJ on August 3, 2010 blonde and stayed blonde for North American leg #2. August 3 - Sept 4th back to black. So after looking at him blonde and back to black and blonde again, even though I still prefer the black, my favorite blonde look was like at Lollapalooza. Red and black striped pants...the one where he plays snippets of AC/DC, Bon Jovi, etc... I can't believe I just fell down that rabbit hole, but there you have it! 🤣

  4. So we've (allegedly) heard from Hans that 1981 is coming in Autumn. Technically then another song could be the lead single and come out sooner? With 1981 being the second single, Fire Ready Aim style. I guess we should expect it at this point but still feels a little odd that they'd play a brand new song off the cuff when there's nothing else coming for months. Also interested to see whether 'new album promotion soon' could potentially mean some smaller club shows RevRad era style. This is just some thoughts I'm throwing out there, not trying to claim some kind of clairvoyance or anything like that or even that I really believe that I'm correct. Just an alternate way to look at things that still technically aligns with the info we've got (wish I didn't feel the need for this kind of disclaimer in this thread but that's what we've come to I guess lol).

  5. 4 years ago today I said hi to this guy. And ruffled this guy's hair.

  6. Okay, good. I was worried it was Haushinka.

  7. Last nigh in Quebec, Green Day played a new song called 1981: https://www.instagram.com/reel/CuyoLTUtnp1/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== It is the same song from this teaser: https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cbmp9LilxZd/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== No further information on release date of a single or album, they just introduced the song, played it, and moved on. But this is definitely step 1 from more to come!

  8. Someone on YT actually covered the song with more studio quality and it’s a much better way to get a reading of the song. I think the actual studio version should be a lot better and it seems like it will be just a fast and fun song. We’re all missing that from the band these days. It seems like it would be an excellent “filler” track on the new album. Obviously not going to be a single but atleast it’s a fun 2-3 min song with some pace to it. She and Westbound Sign are actually single-track rock operas. Wild One is a 30 second rock opera around ths 1:11-1:41 mark Youngblood was partially part of C&V which was apparently supposed to be a traditional opera.

  9. Agree with @Vintage Disciple. I saw them October 2009 blonde, June 2010 black. Don’t get me started on the outfits with the striped pants, I loved them!

  10. She Westbound Sign Wild One Youngblood These are all non-rock opera tracks that describe someone only using the word "she". Why would you assume that "she" refers to some character Billie made up for a rock opera?

  11. He was blonde first time I saw them live 😍😍

  14. BLASPHEMY!! Obviously, he was just sticking to The Network by posting that as a "TAKE THAT LOSERS! GREEN DAY ALWAYS WIN" type of thing. Clearly, he was just laughing at them and their wild conspiracies. I think the only mature way to settle their differences is to get Billie and Fink in the ring and have them duke it out! My money's on Fink (sorry Billie).

  20. It definitely sounds like we’re in for a rock opera as the subject of the song is only described as “she”. Like who is she? Will there be more songs about this character?

  27. Nothing new but these news are generally made with a confirmation from the band or label so it is important I think : https://www.nme.com/news/music/watch-green-day-debut-new-song-1981-3471107 Step by step the new era starts...

  32. Green Day have performed live almost every year since 1987. The only years they haven't performed are 2003, 2008 and 2018. And looking at those years.....feuding with The Network didn't allow Green Day to perform in 2003. 2008 was Tubby Time, and 2018 was Longshot time.

  33. Digging into the band members lives from birth to 87 and during my time on Wikipedia, they all have 1972 in italics in their discography. Get THIS: Billie is doing lead vocals and guitar. Mike is doing bass and backing vocals and Tre Cool is doing drums and percussion. No backing vocals. Okay, gotta get back to figuring out what the heck these guys were up to from 1973 to 1985. Look For Love is all I've found so far, but the night is middle aged.

  34. Sounds good! It's quite catchy, the lyrics don't seem to jump out to me as super stupid, so I'm happy haha

  36. We don't know anything about Fink's character. He might be a good dude, might be a horrible monster. Not sure why Billie posted about Pizzagate or why it was blocked or whatever. Freedom of speech issues he saw about a band he previously dealt with. Insider info - Fink doesn't care about any of this.

  39. The clip didn’t do it justice. They rushed that and weren’t ready. As for the structure of the song it’s standard Green Day. It seems fast and fun but it’s nothing more, nothing less. Reminds me a bit of when they did this with C&V on the 21cb tour Probably means they have a legit title picked for the album or he’s just fucking around with fans for fun

  40. I thought about all of you when Billie was shaking his butt literally in front of me during Careless Whisper. But all the camera were on Jason. I should have filmed it for you 😋

  41. There's also an old Last Night On Earth video from the 21st Century Breakdown Tour (I'm pretty much sure that the video is from their show in Zurich, on November 8, 2009). billiejoearmstrong: More fun and somethin from the archives #lastnightonearth https://www.instagram.com/p/Cu3xaojuTqf/?igshid=NjIwNzIyMDk2Mg==

  44. It would be cool to have another show during the summer in Québec. I hope the next tour isn't gonna come here during the winter. It was literally the first time of my life I saw Green Day during the summer in Québec. It's better to be in line at 8AM during this time. Because in March/April it's a fucking nightmare. Can't wait for an announcement. We're closer than ever now!

  45. May 12th, 2022. And then nothing afterward. But most people assumed the song was a stand alone thing and probably not leading up to an album or more songs. We WANTED more, but we knew the deal.

  46. They do look good...probably alot easier to take off than those sweat soaked skinny jeans stuck to his legs! Somebody must have to help him with that! 😂
