I’m not saying it isn’t a very nice thing, but none of those guitars are in the arena of what Billie would use for himself. It’s an awesome thing he does for fans, though, and solid guitars.6 points

I'm out of the loop. So, Green Day's new album is about trans people getting guitars from Billie up the stage? I'm confuse4 points

Those are using cheap models probably purchased for the tour, not from his personal collection.4 points

You go back to the pit and they give you a boxed up guitar to pick up and take after the show. I think sometimes it’s not the same one you played. They have one autographed and ready to go.3 points

I wouldn't call them cheap. On the AI tour Billie Joe gave out black Epiphone Les Paul Juniors with single humbucker. On 21st C and Trilogy tours techs made Squier & Fender telecasters with angled humbucker. Billie Joe gave either depending on the night. For RevRad tour it was black Epiphone Specials with double P-90s. For Hella Mega he gave out Epiphone SLs, and for the last few shows, he gave away white Epiphone Les Paul Junior (signature). I'm drooling at the thought of holding any of these. Imagine the feeling, being on stage with Billie Joe, and he gives you one of these, to keep.3 points

I met the girl at RaR 2013 after the show where she got the guitar for singing longview. She got the guitar packed and had to go back to the camping Site with it which could take you 30 Min or more to the car 😂2 points

Let's exaggerate how bad things are to be silly: So Billie's voice is gone, Mike is a MISSING PERSON, and Tre's legs fell off and the Green Day entity is embroiled in a legal battle that could take upwards of 25 years to figure out. Maybe even longer. Oh and Rob Cavallo and Chris L-A aren't working on the album. They've just been hanging out with them and jamming because nobody in Green Day can jam. They're all messed up. Crippled. and missing. And they've just been hanging with them because they feel bad that they are about to abandon the sinking ship that Tre and Billie can't get out of because of Billie's "nobody leaves Green Day" shtick. Mike see a crack and he ran for it. He's out there. He's out of the matrix. His hair won't grow back for a long time and he'll probably be cloned and put right back in, but yeah.2 points

Why is this still going on? Brittney shouldn't even have been posted about in the first place. This is a Green Day forum for talking about the band and the members of the band, not for talking about their family members. Because one of their family members happens to post stupid and ignorant shit doesn't make her magically eligible for discussion here. It's simply off topic and goes against our long standing rule of not discussing the band member's personal lives and family members. Transphobia shouldn't be tolerated and I'm glad since it was brought up it (and the transphobic comments from some people here) was called out. But it's been said now and it still isn't anything to do with the topic of this thread. Back on topic please.2 points

I thought the same thing last month thooo (also hey our bdays are exactly a month apart!)1 point

I was just thinking how annoying it would be to carry a guitar around in the crowd. Totally worth it though, haha. Even though I haven't been playing much lately, I've been eyeballing some Les Paul guitars that I want. Do we even need to get back on topic at this point? If so, I'd bet all my money that Green Day's next album will use guitars of some kind. Who wants to bet against me? Are we allowed to bet here? haha1 point

I know that one Twitter leak called leak daddy or whatever is fake but does anyone have the date the account said we'd get a single/announcement? Just so i have something to look toward1 point

The lime green accents on the guitar are very much standing out to me, makes me wonder if that's gonna be one of 1972's colors. EDIT: WAIT OMG that shade was one of Warning's colors... which means, those saying it's a sequel to Warning may be true... (insert Peggle... 2! gif here)1 point

Boy’s got too many guitars. He sold a whole bunch of them and I still wonder if he even knows how many he’s got. Long way from 1992 where if he broke a string on Blue onstage everyone had to wait until he restrung it.1 point

What a beautiful guitar. Reminds me of that doc' GD's Rig Rundown, from 99 Revolutions tour 2013. Drooling over a detailed tour of Billie Joe's, Mike's and Jason's awesome guitar collection. Guitars are a wonderful creation1 point

Green Day doesn’t need to announce the returning of a founding and important member in order to stay relevant and generate cash. That’s all blink was doing when they recorded and released Edging, announced an album and tour. All hype and future promises, just like Tom is famous for. (I like blink and love Tom, but I don’t let that cloud my judgement)1 point

This discussion is off topic and needs to end now. As Clockwise put it there is no debate, trans rights are human rights. Just like the people who thought it was "common sense" not to let black and white people have the same rights in the 60s, then later the people who thought it was "common sense" not to give gay people the same rights, it is bigots on the wrong side of history now crying "common sense" to justify their transphobia. There are too many transphobic comments in this thread already and I don't want to see any more in this thread or on this site. Anyone making any more transphobic comments will be suspended. And I ask that everyone stop posting about this topic now regardless of your position. Posts about the upcoming album only from here please.1 point

That’s hilarious when all I see from the right is outrage over everything from books to M&Ms to Disney to Bud Light 😂1 point

Warner/Reprise also wouldn't need to be paid any royalties for Green Day playing their own songs. that's not how music copyright works. They own the recordings but not the songs - royalties from any performances of the band's songs just go to the band1 point

Lookout records doesn't exist anymore, green day got the rights to those albums sometime around 2005 and they've been reissued on reprise ever since1 point

Actually, science acknowledges that their feelings about their gender are legitimate and it has nothing to do with their surroundings. You are spewing dangerous tropes that have been surrounding the LGBTQ+ population for quite awhile and are consistently and regularly proven to be inaccurate. I kindly suggest that you educate yourself and maybe actually talk to some people that deal with this everyday because, you know, they live it. If you don't, you're literally just an asshole with baseless and easily refutable opinions.1 point

This isn't the thread for this, but your statement is completely off-base and inaccurate. Children are not just being "subjected" to this stuff. That's a myth fabricated by one segment of the population. It only is a thing if said child is experiencing feelings that they need help dealing with. And in many cases, schools are where children actually trust the adults they are around. Parents who are overly concerned about this are REALLY shitty parents who don't have the trust of their children.1 point

Mike is very good friends with laura jane grace and he is a big LGBT+ supporter so I wouldn't take his wife's view as his own, she is entitled to believe whatever she wants to believe (even though i strongly disagree with what she is saying/suggesting because i'm trans myself) let's get back to talking about music instead of culture war stuff 🥰1 point
