We need to stop giving a shit about this Leakedad account. It's 100% not legit and so obvious.11 points

Someone in the green day discord page mentioned the increase in social media activity today could be a way to boost up their presence prior to an announcement.10 points

My take on everything that's happening right now, is Green Day are heavily leaning into nostalgia at the moment. It started with the Nimrod re-release, and then we got the announcement of the seemingly Kerplunk themed collaboration with Rock, Roll, Repeat. Then we got the video of the 1991 gig, followed by the video of a previous tour. We've seen the band use 1972, seemingly as a tease for the next album- and I wonder if the whole album will be a reflection of their lives and careers so far? The band has had one hell of a rocky road from the highs of Dookie, American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown, to the lows of Warning (even though I personally love the album) and Billie Joe's on stage breakdown during the trilogy. I'm starting to wonder if this will be a much more retrospective record for the band, which is why they're seemingly putting so much time, energy and care into it. I wouldn't even be surprised if there's one song where John Kiffmeyer comes back to drum. I personally would love to see an autobiographical concept album covering their lives together- starting with 1972. There's a part of me that believes this may be their final album, and they'll be content with this being their magnum opus (for the inglorious kind or otherwise), and I think it could easily be self-titled. We've seen they're not shy about coming to festivals as a 'Greatest Hits' band, and that's absolutely fine if that's their choice. Would I love more new Green Day content after this album? Of course I would. Would I rather they ended on a high than churn out more FOAMs? Every single day. Leave the fans wanting more- for a little while at least. Just a disclaimer, I have no insider knowledge, this is all purely my opinion based on what I've seen publicly.8 points

I don't think this is GD's final album. However I strongly believe this will be their best since AI. Although times have changed and although its not so important, this brilliant new album will bring them at least a grammy nomination too. Watching the teasers once again I truly have a feeling that it will be one of the best and most loved in their discography.6 points

Except some Instagram posts, still nothing new. More active on social media this week tho that's good sign.6 points

The wait is going to be worthy. I don’t expect AI or 21cb levels but I feel it’s gonna be revrad with a AI level production. A man can dream 🙏4 points

I'm sure that's probably true but I think they put quite a lot of love and care into all their albums. Even FOAMF to an extent But putting care into an album doesn't mean that the album is necessarily going to be a great album. Basically, I'm not expecting a 10/10 album. And I wouldn't want to be expecting a 10/10 album. If I was expecting a 10/10 album, then I would most likely end up disappointed when it turns out to be a 7/10. Their last 10/10 album imo was 21CB which was 14 years ago. I'm just hoping for a genuinely good Green Day album4 points

I think the best thing mentally is just going back to “no album coming out” mode as a fan.4 points

Same. So much disappointment for me. I always think it’s something great and it ends up being some collab with some other company or a re-issue or some old clip. I like that stuff but not after all the teases and waiting for something new. I hope Billie Joe comes back to Instagram that was always fun. And the Longshot. It’s fucking boring waiting for nothing without him posting his random stuff. The past two years have been a letdown most of the time.3 points

I'm not expecting the album to be at the quality of AI or 21CB or Dookie Even if the album surpasses my expectations and is way better than I expected, I'm not expecting it to be a top 3 Green Day album. I'll be happy to be proven wrong but I would NOT get my hopes that high for this album3 points

I don’t even want to think about that!!! And I think Billie once said that the only way Green Day will end is when he’s dead and buried3 points

Either way Crush Management sucks wish Green Day would drop Crush Management3 points

And maybe they were posting stuff when they were actually in the production process, probably they have been done recording for a while now, and except mastering and mixing activities (maybe/probably done as well), now they are just in the “wait for the right time to release/promote” phase.3 points
-
Maybe because they don't want to show off too much of the album before it's actually announced. Imagine if they continued doing monthly teasers, we would've heard a small part of every song on the album by now3 points

Any time I open up Instagram and it’s loading and I see Green Day has posted both a story and a main post, I get super excited. Really thought it was going to be an album announcement…it was simply the clothing line collab smh2 points

They must have realized after the Brain Dead collab that they had to do one in the affordable range2 points

I was searching about the timeframe of Crush Management's last releases Miley Cyrus and Fall out Boy dropped the first single and after 2 months (and some days) dropped the album. So this "information" may came from that.2 points

I surely hope that, when the time will come, some journalists will ask the right questions to have some insights into this album recording process.2 points

I have to imagine plans changed a couple times throughout this teasing process. They did the whole heavy teasing thing with the trilogy, keeping us up to date pretty much every step of the way. Through the lead up to Uno, that all went according to plan. That doesn’t seem to be the case here.2 points

Hay, you sound a tad down. It's not as if the band are doing nothing at all, no plans for the future. GD are in the studio now, they've written new lyrics, they are recording new songs now. These are exciting times. I can feel it, taste it. It's the same every time since Dookie. I know what's coming, to live through it again. To see them again. GD will let us know when they are good and ready. Holy shit, this will be my 9th album tour. So as Billie Joe said, " I'm gonna count to 4 and then your to go fuckin' crazy". 1-2-3-4 time to go fuckin' crazy GD are coming. I love going crazy every day. It's cool to be a little crazy. So it's time to get exciting, time to go fuckin' crazy. Jump on the GD band wagon, and enjoy the ride. It's gonna be fuckin' awesome.1 point

My copy arrived few days ago. Thanks so much for posting about this, really appreciate it. What an amazing read. Not just about the Asia tour. He goes back to when GD first started and with drummer Al. To their first tour, the tiny venues with no stage, intimate detail of day to day living on the road. Then life with Tre on board. You can imagine being there with them. From nothing to eat to sleeping on an old mattress by a dumpster. Awesome.1 point
