I really love your positivity and enthusiasm. I wish it would come true. However, as we know the band were still in the middle of working on the new record, on Jan 10, that rules out your end of '22 option. The only other factual info is the Instagram photo of Chris, Mike and Tre still in studio on Feb 28. So, I'm sorry but, until we get some further official news I'm sticking with October, but I would love to be proved wrong.6 points

No. Let’s not start another speculation based on nothing around that please, the chick emoji was enough for at least a month 🥲5 points

I’m still going by what Billie said in that magazine interview when he said probably 2023!!! I did some research on the C&V/American Idiot sessions and the timeframe is actually pretty similar to the 1972 sessions. The C&V sessions went from July 2002 to until the tapes were (allegedly) stolen in October 2002. Then they went back in April 2003 to start the American Idiot sessions which lasted until March 2004. Then the album came out in September. As for 1972, from what we’ve heard, they went to RAK Studios in London in October 2021 to record 6 songs. Then in early 2022, they were at Ocean Way in LA, then went back to London, and by the summer they were back in LA and revealed they were working with Rob Cavallo and CLA!!! So if the album was completed late 2022 or early 2023, we could most definitely be looking at a June or July release!!! And if that’s the case, the timeframe for the single could either be late this month, or some time in May!!5 points

It seems like @Sanity Loanruns the Has It Leaked and @Little Boy Named Boozeruns Leakedad They created their own megazords. What a Insider war!3 points
-
What are the reasons, really? An emoji and a Canadian festival organizer saying that they are touring during the summer, thing we already knew? Don’t take it as a personal criticism, I understand this just comes from passion and anticipation for the next record which is nice, but you guys sometimes build clues out of your imagination only to then be disappointed by your own hype building. It’s been happening at least once a month for a year since the real teasers stopped being released. And then again, one single person on an online forum post about a supposed vocal cord issue without mentioning any source or evidence, and for some reason that becomes a rumor to be considered as legit and the reason why plans that never existed have changed.3 points

Nothing new but still interesting. Richie Bucher, who did the Dookie's artwork, spoke about his time working for Green Day https://americansongwriter.com/the-story-behind-green-days-wheres-waldo-like-album-cover-for-dookie/3 points

Well technically we don't know if they were still recording in January. There's much other work to do before releasing an album. And if they were still recording, then definitely not the main part of the album, otherwise CLA didn't have to mix already mid-2022.3 points

Who will be there to asking about the new album? 🤣 https://www.instagram.com/p/Cq38gMmP8x4/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=3 points

I know that we’re not entitled to anything, but I just feel so raw after a year of teasing. At the very least, they need to work on their marketing skills.3 points

Well if the focus is on more random merch collabs, does that mean all other plans have been postponed (if there were any other plans). I would think if they had a new release/tour to announce, it would come with a big merch release of their own, shirts, album pre-orders, bundles etc. They wouldn’t want to compete with themselves by releasing a random retro brand collab at the same time to the same limited audience. I just think it’s a bad sign.2 points

May Possible that they Release the first Single in a bundle with that rockrollrepeat clothing brand collab thats coming this Month?2 points

Yes and then GD and Blink posted photo still working in studio, so... fake.2 points

I don't know about that but I can see they have nothing on July 15th so I hope they're gonna spend some time in Québec City the day before the show walking in the city because I'm gonna stalk them like a creep and get a picture with this beautiful man named Billie Joe.2 points

Which is why I think something unexpected might have interfered with those plans (or something is still coming this week)2 points

They just played the Innings Festival a little over a month ago. From the clips I’ve seen, his voice sounded fine!!! I’m calling BS on the rumor2 points

I like how GDC gets dissapointed when making speculations they trick themselves into believing.2 points

I don't run nothing lol but yeah it look like me against Matt. But I stand with what I said. Don't forget that Green Day management literally said to my friend that they were touring for a new album. It's their words. Can something change? Of course. But that was their words in late January. But. This twitter account doesn't seem legit at all.1 point

Hay, you sound a tad down. It's not as if the band are doing nothing at all, no plans for the future. GD are in the studio now, they've written new lyrics, they are recording new songs now. These are exciting times. I can feel it, taste it. It's the same every time since Dookie. I know what's coming, to live through it again. To see them again. GD will let us know when they are good and ready. Holy shit, this will be my 9th album tour. So as Billie Joe said, " I'm gonna count to 4 and then your to go fuckin' crazy". 1-2-3-4 time to go fuckin' crazy GD are coming. I love going crazy every day. It's cool to be a little crazy. So it's time to get exciting, time to go fuckin' crazy. Jump on the GD band wagon, and enjoy the ride. It's gonna be fuckin' awesome.1 point

You mean when your heart stops beating? Man I love that album. I keep going back to it. One of my favorite albums of all time. Definitely Mark's best work lyrically imo.1 point

Maybe that was a joke in general. They still play some festivals this year where they get back together before next year 😅1 point

And he’s not wrong - Green Day have live dates scheduled for this year EDIT: I’m dumb - forgot that Innings Festival took place in February1 point

They want us to think about our lives and what we're doing with them1 point

Not necessarily "fake". Could be that Hasitleaked was just wrong rather than lying. Or they were done and then the bands decided to go back and add/remove/replace stuff. I'm pretty sure HasItLeaked is at least somewhat credible but that doesn't mean everything they say is true1 point
-
I never said that. They said they were in the area between July 10-16th and they booked July 16th. We don't know if they want to fill the days between but I don't think they're gonna play in Milwaukee on July 14th, USA/Canada July 15th, Quebec City July 16th. It doesn't make sense unless they play Toronto or Montreal. It's still the same as it was 2 weeks ago.1 point

Just got my silver vinyl!!! This is the kind of boxset I alwatys wanted!! Just a big curiosity that i don't think anyone pointed out so far. In the 12" booklet, we got for the first time some part of the lyrics from 'Platypus' printed. It's the last verse of the song and I noticed that there is a line we've been singing wrong this whole time: Everywhere you look, the lyrics have a phrase that says: "When you go down head first into the ground', but on the booklet for Nimrod XXV the line is written correctly "When you go down in flames into the ground". So, we've (at least me) been singing along it worng haha1 point

It is possible that Billie suggested starting the album all over again, and when Tre heard about it, he was so furious that he broke his drumsticks 😂1 point

Thanks. Yeah that is very creepy I hope no fans do that to him or Mike, Tre. i can see why he probably said that for those Longshot shows(i didn't have the chance to go to any shows in 2018/2019) but i did see some clips of Longshot shows posted on YT. They seemed fun and way different than going to a GD show so I can see why Billie did say that bc he probably wanted to give all fans a chance of being that up close at a Longshot show as its a different experience than a GD one. right? Makes no sense why he'd pick a kid but "hate them" and in all the clips i see on YT/ TikTok of fans on stage with him he looks hella happy so even I have no idea why that person had the nerve to say that to me. thank you! I always look forward to meeting other fans at shows, and getting there early to wait in line with them. I'm not gonna let that fans "thoughts" get in the way of this💚 You're welcome and thank you! I appreciate your kind words💚 yes I 100% agree!!! Seeing them each time feels like its the first time ever seeing them again☺️. Thank you! I appreciate you taking the time to write all of this. Has made me feel better already😄 yeah I did not see a problem with it either until(I don't see a problem with it anymore either, slowly forgetting that other fans comments) going to alot of shows does help alot of the fandom to let loose and not feel so alone and feels like a giant caring community. With everyone there for the same reason or different reasons. We are all there to experience the best feeling ever. i agree with you! If someone does see any of the reasons you had listed as to why people go to shows, and if some other fans find that creepy i think that they have some weird odd hang ups they need to personally deal with. and true, why would he hate people he chooses to get to on stage for a song. He does look so happy in all of those pics you shared💚 that is awesome you got on stage!!! I bet it is an experience you will forever cherish. That is so cool Mike let you wear his jacket, another memory to always remember😄 yes there are some of me on stage with Billie also!!!☺️ that is a cool idea the GD fan stories book you did. Yes it seems alot of us go to shows for very similiar reasons. thank you!!! For sure. And i'll pm you sometime1 point

Sounds pretty awesome! I like that it's the Kerplunk font there, promising.1 point

At the end of the day, if the quality is there then I don't mind getting an album under 30 minutes. Don't get me wrong, I get that it might seem frustrating after how long they've been teasing to just get 20-30 minutes of new music. But if they have 25 minutes of fantastic songs, would you really want them to add an extra 10-20 minutes onto that if it just means getting some extra mediocre tracks? Of course it's fine to have preference for an album to be a certain number of tracks, or number of minutes but even if I prefer an album being 12-15 tracks, I'm not going to have a problem with an album with 9 tracks or 18 tracks if it's a genuinely great album One of the weirdest complaints I see FOAMF get is that it's too short... Like, really? Is that the reason people think FOAMF is one of the weakest (if not the weakest) GD albums? Because it's too short? It's already a mediocre album, what would adding extra songs do if songs like IWATT and Oh Yeah were considered acceptable tracks. No offense to people who love those tracks, or the album as a whole. The album being short is not one of the album's flaws in my view. I don't see people say that Insomniac is a weak GD album due to its length, even though that album is only a few minutes longer than FOAMF We're not getting another trilogy. And the trilogy was done fine, they're not going to do a better trilogy now than the one they did in 2012. A 2+ hour project is bound to have some filler on it unless they spent like a full decade on a trilogy trying to perfect it. Even a double album is something I highly doubt is going to happen ever Strongly disagree. FOAMF is not a modern mainstream sounding album. This is not the sound that modern listeners go to listen to. The band did not make FOAMF to try and get modern listeners to listen to them. If anything, it's very old sounding music1 point

Also they are not doing anything. Their social media manager/someone in their communication team posted that. Most likely as part of a “let’s post something on TikTok at least once a month” strategy.1 point
