I think they will follow a similar path this time.

They did festivals shows in summer 2004 where they premiered American Idiot and released it in Fall 2004. It's possible.

Oct. 22nd. Oakland won the World Series on this day in ‘72.

So as of now they have nothing on for April-June. Just two festivals in mid July, one in September, and a two day festival in October. That’s it for 2023. They could easily have a tour scheduled around that. If not, with only two shows scheduled between now and September it’s going to be awfully boring for the next six months. There has to be something else in all that time.

So hopefully that means maybe a single in July or August?

GD is always so unpredictable but we assume recording should be finished (?) and its just mixing/mastering etc whats left? i dont think GD want to sit too long on a finished lp, but i understand they might wait for a good spot in time to release the next album

Hadn't heard Still Breathing in a while and I don't care what anyone else says, it's one of Green Day's best, most genuine and emotional songs, and it was great live. I remember thinking that Still Breathing and Forever Now at Hyde Park were some of the best performances of Billie's I'd seen. RevRad was a great record. Tempted to finally get a Still Breathing tattoo if I've got any money left over at the end of my next holiday 👀

We get greedy in this thread. Green Day have gone longer without records or teasers. I’m also eager for new music, but I’d rather it be good and ready rather than rushed. I think their marketing strategy is whack but, in the end, it’s their choice not ours.

A release in the fall is increasingly inevitable

While I agree that the prospect of another year of generic setlists is disheartening, at least they’re still getting out there and playing shows, giving fans the chance to see them in places that they play less often than others - Louisville and Quebec City for example. They could just as easily have packed it up after the two year Hella Mega run and rested on their laurels until the next record is released. In all likelihood, in a decade or two Green Day won’t be playing nearly as many shows as they are now. Don’t take them for granted, even if they’re “just” festivals - let’s appreciate them while they’re still going strong, still near the top of their game after some 35 years.

If this song is on the new album, then I’m seriously not interested in the rest of it and would think the whole crew has become completely out of touch with reality.
