It may also be worth remembering that, unless I’ve missed something, there’s never actually been anything even close to official confirmation that they were working on an EP - if I remember correctly this entire rumour stemmed from Billie telling someone they’d recorded 6 songs. Any suggestion that those 6 songs were meant to be the full extent of their project is pure speculation and seemed unlikely to me from the beginning.14 points

It’s mid-March and some of you think it’s coming out next year now? Lol the year is long folks, R-E-L-A-X.9 points

Not necessarily. What kind of socks do you think they’ll wear on their next tour?7 points

I hope they add some Trilogy to the set lists. Such a waste of great songs not playing them live.6 points

But he said it in the first half of 2022 so the implication was probably 2023 as opposed to 2022 (not 2024) The entire time Tre, Sara, Bill and others were posting from London, Mike and Britt were posting photos from Austin, Texas4 points

1. You are reading ALL the comments in this forum. ☺️ 2. You wore out your old Green Day cassette tapes in High School by playing them over and over non stop! ( I ruined mine in 1997 lol!) 🤠 3. If you were a vampire Green Day would be your lifeblood. 🧛♀️ 4. All of your ex's hated Billie Joe Armstrong because you proclaimed your love for him first. ❤️ 5. You freaked out at the end of your Dookie cassette tape because the secret song "All By Myself" started playing. You started jumping up and down thinking your discovered something amazing that no else knew about. 😎 6. Your married and almost 40 years old singing to Green Day in your bedroom. You know every lyric and pitch to the song. You sing on point just like Billie. Scary, right? Your spouse comes in and just rolls his eyes as if to say there is no hope here. He has to accept that you can't take the "Green" or the "Day" out of the girl. 💚4 points

So true our poor partners in life, at least mine likes Green Day. So grateful, otherwise I’d have to replace him 😂😂3 points

I can’t bear the thought that we could be doing this another six months without a word from the band other than the occasional festival announcement.3 points

The world may be burning, everything is a mess. What is greenday.fm, fandom, and even GD official website missing out on, failing miserably. The up to date important issues concerning GD. Only GDC is in touch with it's fans, knows what they need to know, and always has the answer. And again tonight I can sleep well, knowing what coloured socks Billie Joe had worn, maybe what is he wearing now, and what he could be wearing next. @Sanity Loan are you there? How's your sanity. 🙄2 points

I mean Billie's gotta bring back the red and black striped socks, right?2 points

My husband and son both like Green Day thankfully but not to the degree I do! 😂 Enough to go to Hella Mega with me though! 🥰2 points

X-Kid. They could go take a breather while the music video plays on stage.2 points

My missus, son and two grandkids totally detest GD. My daughter in law, likes some GD thankfully. Fortunately, I'm a GD freak, a total GD head case. Have always been, I still am, and will always be until the end of time. 😍2 points

In ¡CUATRO! Billie was talking about having unfinished songs in the studio during the Nimrod sessions and he said he would never come into the studio with an unfinished song ever again2 points

I think they don't wanna deal with that level of logistics to do that. Besides Green Day doesn't sell the volume that Metallica does, so they aren't in the hurry to make any vinyl. If someone in the band was like Lars who has the vision to make the band a huge business probably we would see that long time ago, and all those things that come with it (Boxsets, live shows in audio/video of every show, an active YouTube channel). What we got: a coffee company2 points

I apologize if this isn't thread-worthy or has been done already, but I thought it could be fun. Are there ever any instances that occur in your daily life where someone says something and you immediately start singing a Green Day song in your head? Or if you see a sign you think of a song? I'll give a few examples of what I mean: -While watching the NFL playoffs today, the commentators have described a play as "Bang, bang" a few times, so I immediately started singing the song in my head. -There's a street I pass called Longview Ave and I always start humming the opening bass line -My brother took a picture from Gate 86 at an airport the other day and told me, "There's no return." -I will sing Give Me Novocaine in my head while the dentist is drilling my teeth -Same goes for Blood, Sex and Booze when things get kinky in the bedroom These are just a few examples of what I'm getting at and I'm curious if anyone else had things like this happen in their own crazy Green Day brains.1 point

I ran into Billie Joe randomly the other day. We spoke for about 2 mins about the new album so I didnt get a lot of information or details or atleast as much as I’d wanted to get.1 point

Hahahaha, we haven’t even started on Billie’s hair, that topic alone can run for pages 😂😂😂 I don’t want to burst your bubble, and I feel like I keep saying this but he said either possibly or probably this year.1 point

Development hell could be likely seeing as how it allegedly started off as a 6 song EP and morphed into a full album, they would have to be writing the album as they're recording it so they might be going back and making changes as things progress. Or maybe they just want to spend time with their loved ones and take a break before going into a full album cycle again1 point

When it comes actual real theories and ideas to what is going on with the album? Yeah I'm positive we have covered every base. But wild speculation is fun1 point

According to billboard, Green Day grossed about 182 Million Dollars from touring in their career. That's an interesting article about Hella Mega: https://www.billboard.com/pro/green-day-fall-out-boy-weezer-hella-mega-tour-boxscore-earnings/1 point

How much money does Green Day make from one show? Is it split evenly three ways? Man, the setlist staleness has me bummed, even with such energetic shows. At this point, merely adding Stray Heart or Oh Love would be such a massive upheaval of society on Earth, I'd freak out!!! So many bops from the last 5 albums and no performances.1 point

Or they weren’t asked to play. I can’t stress this enough: “gonna be a long time until the weather is warm again”. That’s all it meant, bro.1 point

Would be super awesome to get a compilation of alternate versions/mixes like the Cavallo/Finn mix of 2,000 Light Years Away and the Insomniac version of Good Riddance 👍1 point

You're right, Green Day has a huge singles/CD Promo collection. However, from 2016 there are just a few (comparing to the 90s, when you can have 2 or 3 versions of a single... or even more). The Live Eps are memorable, too (Also, considering almost all of them were japanese exclusives... it gives a real feel of satisfaction when you get them in physical). Not all of them have a good art work, but the content (music) is fantastic!! It's a shame that EPs or the vast majority of singles are not available in Stream services.1 point

GD have released so many singles, but you get so much more. Many come with live tracks and some with prev' unreleased non-album tracks, so value for money really. Plus, some amazing artwork over the years. The drawings from the Dookie era are awesome. If I had to choose fav' it would be 'Live Tracks' ep from '94, with drawing of dogs chilling out. Can't imagine what they're smoking. 😏1 point

The version in this video is from a third WC Promo (Which I own in my collection), and it's called RADIO EDIT #2, this is the same mix from WC Videoclip. The Orange Version of WC has the RADIO VERSION 2.1 point

I would say the Australian Waiting CD Single which has the Original Version of Maria. Also, the Green and Orange Promos for Walking Contradiction (Especially the Orange One), both have exclusive mixes, but I've never heard the orange CD one. WC Orange Promo And this is the mix for the Green promo.1 point

The trilogy on colored vinyl and the shit-brown Dookie vinyl that came out in 2020 are on there. Oh and the Stray Heart promo single, I just think that’d be fun to have. Along with the American Idiot B-sides CD John Roecker posted a few years back… holy grail type stuff1 point

The Dookie Converse are definitely rare in my size I have the Uno and Dos ones though so I'm happy. They'd be my must-haves if I didn't have them! There was merch for sale at the Costa Rica show in 2010 that I never saw anywhere else and haven't seen since. I'd love an official shirt from that leg of the tour. Also, this shirt that was for sale on the 99 Revolutions Tour:1 point
-
Yea, this is ultra rare. Amazing design. Apparently only 200 pressings. Discogs estimated price 120 dollars. Not traced any for sale yet. I've noticed over years, if you don't buy a GD single when it's released, they soon become collector items, and up shoots the price.1 point

Oh, and I catched a pick from Mike back at a concert in mainz/Germany. Not really rare but it means a lot1 point

Literally fucking me Spent long enough trying to figure out how to sing like him, ('specially early him), now pretty much anytime I sing anything it all comes out like that. I wonder if that's why I never got a part in any of the school musicals?1 point
