I don't think that matters one bit. Considering the band is playing a show just two days from now, I'd wager he's fine7 points

The only reason why we aren't getting any teasers is probably because the album is already DONE. We've already heard snippets of 4-5 songs. I think they dont want to give away too much6 points

At least you say it with the depth that I think is appropriate. I remember my cousin once removed casually mentioning that she had gone to see Green Day "where was it again, oh yeah... Milton Keynes I think" at a Christmas dinner and my jaw just dropped to the floor when she said it haha - I simply couldn't believe my ears. Honestly, I was a Green Day fan before it, but BIAB finally cemented my love for Green Day. And I'll have to disagree with those who think the interview bits are annoying. I will forever know the start by heart. --- ---- --- --- --- --- --- --- *cue black and white shot of Billie's mouth* "You know music to me is... ah.. it's the air that I breathe you know, it's the blood that pumps through my veins that keeps me alive. So, without it, I don't know what I would do. I mean, I'd probably have a job or something like that, but... People ask me what would you do if you didn't have Green Day. And I say, well I'd be in Green day, I don't really know anything else. Or people say, you know: what do you think of people that only talk to you or like you, because you're in Green Day. And I say, well I am Green Day. That is me. That is my life..." *cue cheering* then the transition to the bird's eye view of a field with the setting sun. The also Sprach Zarathustra intro comes in, then starts the slow and dramatic zoom-in onto, what I at time thought, must be the largest concert crowd in the world... and then the band comes up on stage... Billie does his majestic thing on the pedestal, all the while the crowd is going nuts, finally he puts the people out of their misery, plays the intro riff, jumps off- *boom* and with that, the concert roars into action. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- Magical.6 points

They are much more excited about this one than they were about FOAM, because the way they only started teasing studio photos just a few weeks before the single and Hella Mega Tour announcement is pretty telling!!5 points

I’m sure they know pretty much everything at this point right down to the track list to probably what the first single will be and what the album cover will look like. Just because they don’t share info with us doesn’t mean there isn’t info to share. We all know how much they love to tease their fans with stuff like this, always have. Isnt that the point of the videos they’ve shared with us so far? I could be wrong but I really feel they enjoy watching us squirm and that’s a good thing because it means both they and the fans are super excited about new music.5 points

See a bunch of shows. I don't really care for meeting them + I don't enjoy small talk with strangers.4 points

Milton Keynes 2005, man what a show, 65,000 of us. After watching GD for 14 years, this was the new GD live. A new awesome sound, yes, but live, this was magical, I was gobsmacked. Reality was gone, I didn't exist, my whole being was one with GD. As for Billie Joe he controlled my life that night. As he strutted across the stage, raising his arms, I, like everyone, followed his every command. I didn't want the show to end, I wanted it to go on for eternity. I will never forget that night. It's nice to have a visual memory with BIAB, but as you say very much incomplete. You cannot substitute being there. Sorry, I'm very emotional remembering that night, feel a right dick the tears are running down my face. I suppose it's possible to love someone/something from a distance. Thank you GD I will love you forever. x4 points

Man, your always there with an answer. You must have an amazing memory. I'm impressed.2 points

I'm sorry I can't agree with that. We've discussed this point s few times now. I'm sure they have their reasons, and there could be many. Delays beyond their control, and they just want to get the music right. I've followed this band for many years and I know they care very much about the fans. I'm sure, no I know, the album when it comes will be worth the wait. And as always it's their decision.2 points

Green Day is totally teasing the fuck out of us. They know they’re driving us crazy with the lack of updates and they love it 😂2 points

Seeing all the shows from the front! Hopefully I would still be able to meet them at some point. They're still my dream interview! But I'd rather experience more shows from such a great spot. I wouldn't know what to say to the guys anyway.2 points

They only played Homecoming on the second night - I was gutted when I found out! If my memory serves me right, they did play Maria on the Saturday night though, which was a nice surprise. I think it was there they played it anyway,it was certainly on one of the AI shows I was at. 90% sure it was Milton Keynes.2 points

I hope they give the 1972 songs a lot of love in the setlist and make them setlist staples for years to come!!!!2 points

I like KFAd live. It creates some kind of intimacy between the audience and the band. Everything in that medley goes so smoothly but of course I would rather hear more trilogy songs as you mentioned. Sometimes Green day is very confusing to me when they leave out their best songs. They have never played restless heart syndrome, peacemaker only few times and they don't include 21century breakdown yet they still play american idiot and kye. Probably for them it is easier just to play what they have pracitced a billion times and just get over with it.2 points
-
Agreed. I only talked to Billie for a second, and was fine with that because I had no idea what to say. If I was going to all the shows, I'd prefer a change or two in the set list along the way though.2 points

I like to tell myself that it's just because it just didn't fit on the discs with all the other stuff... but ehhh I dunno. It's especially strange considering it was apparenlty the first song written for American Idiot? Well parts of it anyways. You'd think it would be a little bit more important than it ended up being to BIAB. Oh well... it is what it is, at least everything that made it on there is awesome and we have KFAD, so we don't need it at our live shows anymore! (Oh yes, I'm going back there). Here's an idea that was floating around in my head a few days back.. why not have like a 7-9 minute trilogy medley or something like that instead of KFAD? Take a bunch of Trilogy songs, play about a minute or so of each and have them arranged in a way that they just flow into each other. Most are in the same key and follow very similar chord progressions, so why not? If it even ends up being good enough, they could release it as a song on spotify. Damn, you are lucky. I would have given anything to be able to just see them play on that tour but you actually being at Milton Keynes is beyond epic. Have you managed to find yourself in the DVD at all?2 points

Just sent my second message to Green Day support because I haven't heard anything about my order and it's approaching a month since I've ordered.2 points

Green Day and NFL walk into a bar. NFL says "Man, I love promoting stuff WAY too early" and Green Day look over. Their eyes meet and sparks soar through the air. A match is made at a roadside bar.2 points

Do we think the situation going on with vinyl delays are anything to do with it? Some bands etc are announcing albums and touring before their albums are even out, perhaps they want it ready to go. Just a suggestion though1 point

I had to think about it, but I'm going to choose every show. Guess I'll DM you my address so you'll know where to send the fat stack of tickets, haha!1 point

I am so excited for this new record. Frustrating waiting for it but all these comments are getting me excited again. Thanks for this!1 point
-
What do you mean? They get it every 3 or 4 years with the rotation that's been in place for a long time now. Sure, the latest round of TV contracts with the NFL added ESPN/ABC back into the mix, but CBS has always been one of the broadcasters. They last broadcast the game in 2021, which is why I'm confused by using "Waiting".1 point

I dunno. It’s not often that a lesser known song is used for a promo rather than one of the big hits. It’d be like if a Nirvana song was used, but the song chosen was Radio Friendly Unit Shifter.1 point

Absolutely, to see all those shows live I'd feel I'd died and gone to heaven. As for meeting the band, they are flesh and blood just like us. So would maybe say "Hay, fancy going down the pub for a pint?" Ask if everyone is good, including Tre following his apparent injury. Then, after a few bevvies, dive in for the low down on the new album. A few more bevvies, then the final question, "Now about The Network...... 🤩1 point

Totally see the shows, as long as I’m not going to not get flattened at the front 😂😂. Much as I would love to meet them, I’m sure I wouldn’t have a clue what to say or would gush over them.1 point
-
I guess they're waiting for a good time. And i don't think Tre's leg have fully healed yet ?1 point
-
Question. Hypothetical. You never saw Green Day live in your life. You have two choices. You can see their entire world tour being at the front row OR You can meet them during 15 minutes before a show but watch the show from the last seat in the back.1 point

Typed in Green Day on the Roku and now I'm watching Green Day The Singles for free. Nice!1 point

Maybe you get an exception when you're the Stones? I really can't think of another show that wasn't playback. There's little time to set up/soundcheck/troubleshoot1 point

If I’m remembering right didnt they premiere BIAB on MTV2 like right before it was released? I’m pretty sure that was the first time I saw it, they used to show the video of St Jimmy from BIAB a lot around that time too.1 point

I was starting to think maybe, hopefully, things would start ramping up again after the Innings Festival1 point

When they’ve had rock bands in the past they’ve had a crowd of hired extras on the field act as an audience to make it more of a scene. How fun would it be to stage it so the band is on this multi level stage and below them is an “audience” of punks all moshing and surfing? They could also choreograph the audience in a way similar to the AI musical cast. It could be cool.1 point

for real wtf1 were they thinking? Homecoming is one of their best work1 point

I think halftime break is 20 minutes and performers get 15 minutes but not sure. I‘m not that interested in football, more soccer here in EU 😂1 point
-
How many minutes do artists get to perform in the super bowl? I feel like it's 15 minutes because rihanna's set was 15 minutes long1 point
-
As long as they are perfoming alone and not collab with someone or playback like Chili Peppers back in 2014 I‘m fine with it 😂1 point

Lady Gaga released her album Joanne in October 2016 and did the Super Bowl Halftime Show in 2017. So maybe Green Day releases the album in fall 2023 for the Super Bowl 2024. But could it really be? Green Day doing the Super Bowl would be way too epic ❤️1 point

Totally true. I really hope that one day we hear all the inside info on this but it really feels like they went through this whole “do you even really want to do this anymore” thing and then in the serious, adult conversations that followed realised they could do more, could grow up and push boundaries and then had the guts to pull it off, complete with rock star makeover. Really remarkable.1 point

Unfortunately, I hadn't discovered Green Day until my early teens when American Idiot came out, but it was during that discovery period (with the help of international superhits) that I discovered I actually knew quite a few of their older songs too, I just didn't know who they were by until then. Back to what you were saying though, the wait for me between AI and 21CB felt fucking huge. It wasn't really helping that it felt like pretty much every single day I was on the internet speculating and looking for info on the next record, as I was for many other things I was interested in too. These days, 4 and a half years feels like a couple of weeks to me since I'm pretty good at keeping myself distracted with other things... but the downside to that is life seems to be flying by faster and faster every day. Looking back and reflecting on that time period now, I really wish I just spent more time living in the moment than being too excited for things that hadn't happened yet. Okay rant time! Can you believe I just fucking turned 32? How depressing is that? I don't really look it (according to most people that guess I am in my early 20s) or feel it (except now that I think of it, my back is kind of fucked). But damn, Billie Joe was 32 when American Idiot came out. Still can't believe he's already in his 50s. Next thing I know, I'm gonna be in my 50s and he's going to be in his 70s. What the hell? Yes! 101 fucking percent! I imagine part of the record label re-sign process probably had quite a few requests that the band members had, less strict deadlines likely being one of them. The impatient see this as a negative, but to me I see it as a huge positive. Again, I'd rather wait for the boys to announce and release something that they really care about than something they were forced to finish in a strict deadline so the record label could do their thing. If that happened to me, I wouldn't be able to cope and the material would ultimately suffer for it. Screw that.1 point

I'm just glad it seems like what we've gotten so far has just been the band teasing a record they're excited about - it's not forced promotion from some record label/management company etc., just the band being themselves. Which may end in a lot of mystery but at least we haven't been told there won't be any trap beats (yet).1 point
-
After the Innings Festival, I feel like they have to announce something soon, because as of now, their next show is the Harley Davidson Festival in July, 5 months away!!! That’s a pretty big gap!!!1 point

Yeah the streaming world is weird and has no relation to radio or any other type of success measure. The real crime is how many streams an artists needs to make any kind of money, a fraction of what equals physical sales1 point
