  1. Whenever they decide to announce the album, I just hope they won't do the modern approach and do it 5 months before the release date, then release four singles in the meantime and pretty much ruin the whole fun spoiling the record. I hate that trend. A single a month or two before the record's out is more than enough. I'll never forget when they announced 21st Century Breakdown at the Grammys in February '09, released Know Your Enemy, and pretty much every other information on the record we got were only bits from magazine interviews. We didn't even know the full final track list until later. It was so exciting and awesome. I want that.

  2. The thing about demos is that they are different from original album version that makes them special. Even when they are variation of another song. And Green Day live wouldn't be Green Day live without Billie Joe's on stage theatricals. Love it.

  3. Or studio B sides! We haven't got a proper one since Know Your Enemy single with Lights Out and Hearts Collide (not counting Favorite Son on 21 Guns, since it came out in 2004 on Rock Against Bush Vol. 2)..

  4. See you there! In fact, I’m here already! 😃

  5. Go up onto the stage, take a mic and ask politely what is going on with the new album. And if they say "we're the coverups, we don't even have a first album yet" well.... I just don't know what to do after that. I guess a coverups album would be good.

  6. And as last time, some of you know doubt will kindly provide photos of the show. Of the band and yourselves. With the show on You Tube some time after. Loved the last one, almost felt I was there. Thanks again guys in anticipation.

  9. One good thing about Fall Out Boy announcing their own tour, when Green Day announce theirs, it won't be Hella Mega 2!!!

  10. They had to change plans when they all found out they were actually born in 1973. #1973

  11. I remember that, it was descriptions of the first 6 songs, and by then, East Jesus Nowhere was still known as March of the Dogs!!!

  12. Oh for the time when a GD single included album song plus a number of live tracks. Those were the days.

  13. It was just the announcer who mentioned they were ''currently completing their upcoming album 21st Century Breakdown'' while they were coming on stage to present Grammy for record of the year.

  14. There was talk of a project with Billie and Lee Kirk and photos of Billie and Tre with three young actors. We still don't know what it is for.

  15. Or maybe it's simply not called 1972 anymore

  19. Came here to also voice my frustration that there has been no update/ETA on my vinyl and cd bundle package either. Demo album is great! Listened on Spotify and Black Eyeliner stopped me in my tracks. Wild how that turned into two different songs. The harmonica on Walk Alone is amazing. It sounds so pathetic that it's charming, haha.

  20. Last time I ordered with them I had to reach out multiple times before they gave me tracking information. Looks like I have to fire off another email soon *cracks knuckles*

  21. No news, no tracking, nothing! Feel like I burnt $150 in a hole.

  23. Don't knock it. Seeing them live on YouTube, even when repeating songs, it's always different and special. Not being there isn't the same, but I get the impression its more personal and interactive with the band, looks amazing. I know you'll all have the best time again.

  24. Won’t happen. Streaming revenue benefits most from lots of singles before an album comes out. Brave new world

  25. Trying to remember discussion earlier last year in this topic that I need to clarify. Wasn't there talk of three musicians/actors, that were going to make a docudrama of the band's early days as the project 1972? Running separately to album 14?

  26. - The one demo song that the majority of people like is basically just a summary of songs we've heard before (COS, KYF etc) - The Live CD has been partially released before, dosen't really feel like a new release of something we haven't heard - Half of the live CD is just Billie goofing around - The original CD is the same, maybe some alternative mixing would have been cool? - The harmonica in Walking Alone is perfect for TikTok 😉 These are just my thoughts after all the hype, I would have loved a bit more creative material when it comes to the release (maybe except for the demo CD). Love the album cover tho.

  28. Was just coming here to post this! Been waiting forever for Rob to do an episode on them. It's really well done and worth checking out. Also helps that he's a fellow Ohioan and makes geographical references that I can relate to. 😂

  29. I think they cut that one down because it was R rated with Billie’s jerking off sounds and no kid could play the album in their house with their parents around 😂

  30. Is it significant that they teased this project pretty regularly from December 2021 to August 2022 and then effectively stopped? Like what happened then? Was that when there was some other change to the project that knocked it off schedule? Because it’s been nearly six months now with no official tease.

  31. I think it was August 16, 2022, tease 10?

  32. I 100% agree with your live album thoughts. If they're gonna do the fan thing with Knowledge, I don't mind watching it but listening to it is exhausting. They easily could've edited it down similar to what they did for HAR on BIAB.

  35. They’ve actually added some new songs over the past year. Now they’re doing more 80’s stuff like The Cure and The Go-Go’s. I love that
