I can forgive the trilogy for this, I think they needed to take a step back and just make some GD songs rather than try and take over the world with some concept. But they kinda fucked that up by trying to make it a trilogy. The volume of work made it complicated to digest despite them moving to a more simple formula.
Rev Rad wasn't cohesive but showed moments that they still have it should they wish to tap into it.
As for Foam it actually sounds like they called Butch Walker and they phoned it in and he recorded the phone lol
At this point they should take their time on albums like Social Distortion does. I'm in no rush to see Green Day live for a while. They play the same 20 songs over and over now and no new songs can make the setlist. The whole point of making albums like AI and 21CB was to compliment their setlist and grow their live show.
