No he just didnāt expect her to say her fav Green Day song is a dirty Tre Cool song. It would surprise anyone, but all the more so Billie who wrote almost every other Green Day song and probably expected to get praise for i donāt know Jesus Of Suburbia or Basket Case or any other actually good song4 points

"EILISH: Hey, I donāt even know how to ask this, but what gave you the urge to, like, moon the audience, or kick people in the head and stuff? ARMSTRONG: Oh, Jesus, kicking people in the head? Did I kick somebody in the head? EILISH: Thereās a video thatās the hardest shit Iāve ever seen. There was somebody in the crowd doing something, and you just jump on the person in the crowd. That was the hardest, most gangster shit. Like, what made you be so dope? ARMSTRONG: I think someone was getting kind of aggro, and then we started having a back-and-forth yelling at each other. And then I was literally fighting with someone in the crowd. I wouldnāt recommend it. Please donāt do it." Musicians on Musicians: Billie Joe Armstrong & Billie Eilish Billie himself seems to remember it this way.4 points

See, Green Day.. THIS is what happens when you take too long to announce the record4 points

āOnce in a Blue Elvisā sounds like a cross between Dominated Love Slave and Nightlife, Billie sings in falsetto4 points

In my eyes what happened was Green Day pretty much invented pop punk with Dookie, then as other bands (Blink 182 and everything similar that came after) were influenced by that and became popular they kind of developed the pop punk genre into it's own thing --meanwhile Green Day veered off course and continued to do whatever the fuck they wanted, releasing a folk punk album and then a punk rock opera for example. They're probably one of the most popular punk bands ever, so yeah - they're pop punk. But most of their music is actually pretty vastly different from most other music that you'd typically place under the 'pop punk' moniker.4 points

I have thought this for a while. This record is flawless and itās the start of Green Day really branching out and being brave with new sounds and styles. This record is why theyāve not just ended up as another 90ās punk rock band & instead a true rock and roll juggernaut that has rightly been inducted into the RnR hall of fame. Even the ādeeper cutsā are easily some of their best work, Haushinka, Jinx, All The Time, Worry Rock, Uptight, The Grouch, Scattered, Prosthetic Head, Redundant, Take Back, Reject, Platypus⦠I could go on and on. I feel like this record goes under the radar, people will always look to American Idiot and Dookie as their best bodies of work - both are incredible in their own way but Nimrod, damn, it covers everything that we love about these guys. Itās also them being daring and showing how great they are as musicians⦠These guys didnāt need Warped Tour or to hang out with all the Fat Wreck bands, instead theyāve cemented themselves in rock and roll royalty and history & this record epitomises that. I donāt know what more to say other than that this record is their true Magnum Opus.3 points

I wonder if he was a little deflated BE: I love Green Day! š BJ: Really? Wow! Whatās your favorite song? BE: All By Myself 𤩠BJ: ⦠but⦠thatās⦠š¶3 points

I had a proper Green Day dream last night. They were on a tour I didn't really get the concept of and the last show was in Detroit. Me and @Rumpelstiltskin2000 flew out for this Detroit show even though we didn't get the tour, but she fell asleep at the airport (which was also the NASA headquarters, so there were astronauts everywhere, but I digress), causing us to be so late to the show that it was already an hour in when we got there. The venue was like a mall and there was a furry convention with people dressed as foxes. They were totally baffled by why we weren't dressed as foxes and had no idea Green Day were playing. We passed Kevin on an escalator as he left a toy store. Hmmm! Kevin wasn't onstage! Just what was this tour about? Because of the furry convention, the floor was empty and we just walked to the front. Billie was on his own with an acoustic guitar and played some Green Day songs, then covered Begin Again by Taylor Swift. I asked if he knew All Too Well, fully expecting him to say no or "male bonding?" like he did when I requested Wild One in real life, but he said yes! And played All Too Well! My favourite song ever! It was a mediocre cover, but it was still Billie covering All Too Well. We'll definitely never experience that in real life, but at least I got it in my sleep! Down the stairs, I was there!3 points

They're Green Day and I love them for who they are and what they have given us and that's what matters. I couldn't care less what specific genre box people want to put them in.2 points

You don't think they see when the board gets a bit too dudish and Billie Joe is like "Okay Tre. Now is the time." But then Dirnt's just kicked back in his chair with his shades on, and says "NOO! NOT YET. I'll TELL YOU WHEN IT'S TIME, BILLIE JOE. NOT A SECOND BEFORE." Dirnt slaps both his coworkers and leaves the office. .... you don't think that happens do you?2 points

I can appreciate a good urban legend and if this is one, it caught on because a lot of people found it believable that heād do it. Thatās good reputation.1 point

i would consider bands like neck deep or (some) blink lp's pop-punk but i dont know how you can describe greenday as pop-punk, they are much closer to punkrock than pop-punk1 point
