OMG this is the best tease yet!!! I like what Billie is explaining about the song having dynamics and again the comparison to AI with Letterbomb9 points

If rock died in the 80s, then how is Green Day even a band, let alone one that was not so long ago considered the biggest band in the world? Sure, Rock isn't as popular now as it has been before, but in my opinion rock will never die, not as long as guitars, drums and bass are still a thing.8 points

Great one and… whoever is posting these is having a lot of fun with the hashtags 😂6 points

A Green Day song? With dynamics? I hope it doesn’t get compressed to hell! I like what I’m hearing… I never want to make guesses based of a few seconds of music but I’m excited.6 points

They all seem to really care about every aspect of this record. It's really good to see. I'm glad they're using AI as a reference too because in terms of production and dynamics, it's gotta be one of if not the best quality album they've done. I'm keeping my expectations in check though. I'd rather be pleasantly surprised than disappointed again.5 points

And it better not be a streaming exclusive. I want a DVD/Blu Ray!!!!4 points

Just hearing Billie's little guide vocal for this song gets me so excited for this music. I want a single!4 points
-
I think the teasers are not in chronological order, why should they still record vocals when CLA ist already mixing? 😅4 points

I refuse to get the app because of that and I really don't care about the content. My bf watches lots of YT shorts, which is often just TikTok reuploads, and just hearing the BS people spout on there makes me scream in my head WHO CARES????? I don't care about whatever thing you did today!!! UGH! It's not worth shifting through so many vapid videos to find some comedy gold to me.4 points

I put this in the 1972 thread too because wow what a glimpse into the recording process. This is amazing What is with all these random tags though? Eric Clapton? Kid Rock??3 points

Trying to clear some stuff off my phone and found these which I must have saved to put in this thread. There's so many talented fans out there https://instagram.com/green.day.drawings?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= From @sebaspix on Instagram. Can't seem to find the account again now https://instagram.com/charlie.themay?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= https://instagram.com/wixsteria_?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=2 points

2 teasers from deleted Billie's story are missing. Thanks though! This made me realise how heavy sounding some songs are2 points

I was in Cleveland yesterday and saw Tré's post as I was getting on the highway heading home. Goddammit. The Vault is the bar inside the hotel we stayed at for the rock hall induction! I told @JardyOfSuburbia that if it was Billie or Mike I probably would've turned around. Sorry Tré!2 points

Same! I always jump over to gda cause I know they’ll be reposted anyway, it’s better that way2 points

Yeah at the moment I'm defo still refusing to get TikTok Especially as long as someone can post here2 points

Some shout outs and screen shots of GDA in there, as this cringe YouTuber wanted to give credit where credit it due. Also, that giant pink rabbit is freaking me now. Burning lights and blackouts. Oh oh.2 points

Maybe I’m just salty cos they seem to be everywhere all the time and to me they aren’t as good as GD. I’m tired hearing about the saintly Dave Grohl! Sorry @The Grohl2 points

I randomly heard Dreamcatcher… it’s actually a good example of a song that isn’t musically anything new, but it’s so tender that it doesn’t matter1 point
-
Order that they were posted in or order that the content happened? I think a lot of what was posted was completed earlier and maybe posted out of order of when the scenes took place.1 point

This one is missing too Things could still be added at last minute. like Murder City from 21CB, recorded and mixed just 1 month before release.1 point

I honestly believe Billie would like nothing more than to show up somewhere random with Green Day (not a side band/covers thing) and play a show but he can’t because it’s all contracts and security and management and rules. If this hella tiny tour ever happened it wouldn’t be tiny by the time it was done with promoters, Ticketmaster, venues, merch, etc.1 point

I think this is another of those things he’s gonna hype up for a while and then nothing comes out of it1 point
-
Jake was at the festival last week and took these photos. He talks about it in the video he posted1 point
-
I mean I'm not even talking about musical quality but FF are a heavier sounding band than Green Day generally. I definitely wouldn't say they're on the light side of rock1 point
-
🤭😂 I'm not a huge Foo's fan but I don't hate them. I hear you though!1 point

I'm curious if the old footage they're posting on TikTok is related to this at all. With that plus the whole "1972" thing, it seems we might get something that is reflective of their whole career. I don't know what shape that would take, but have to imagine the two things are related. Oh, and the "2,000 Light Years Away" AI-driven stem creation thing.1 point

It pains me that mainstream considers Imagine Dragons peak rock these days.1 point

I dont know maybe they are fine where they are now. As long as they still headlining Festivals and play big shows. They are known for putting on great shows and everyone seeems to enjoy these shows, even when people say they dont listen/like them, they enjoy the shows. and yeah, RevRad didn‘t perform that bad on charts, but should have get more attention. It‘s still one of the best records in my opinion.1 point

It's interesting because I was having a recent conversation with some co-workers about music and I brought up Green Day. They were surprised that they're still around. One of them said they haven't heard a green day song in a minute. The other thought the reason they played the metro was because they can't fill large shows, which I don't agree with. Their points were Green Day doesn't feel super relevant. I don't know if I can agree with it, but I do agree that they're not in the mainstream consciousnesses anymore. If they drop another fantastic album maybe they might get there again, but really as long as the boys are happy, I'm a happy fan. It just surprised me when I run into people who are shocked that Green Day is still making music because to me they feel like the biggest band in the world! And then when you go outside the fandom, you realize well not everyone feels that way. And it's so strange because when I list off bands I love and include green day I feel that's when I get most judgement. I could say oh wow I love Nsync and that doesn't bat an eye , but bring up Green Day and some folks feel like oh...okay you like that kind of music, Just interesting things I've been noticing lately, especially at work where just about everyone is 5-10 years younger than me. But I have met some fellow fans at work so it's been nice seeing both sides of the coin.1 point

I'd rather a good obscure album than a bad popular one. SDAR is one of their best and no one knows about it. Doesn't make it less fun.1 point
-
More than accolades or popularity, I just want it to be good. I want the boys to surprise me, to move me emotionally, I want an album with gravitas. Something that I can live with and continue to listen to and think over. I want the album artwork to be, well… art (looking at you FOAM). I want an album that feels like it means something to the band itself.1 point

His dad said it was a ‘long shot.’ 10-year-old tells story of how he got onstage with Green Day at Outside Lands https://datebook.sfchronicle.com/music/exclusive-i-wasnt-really-nervous-10-year-old-who-joined-green-day-for-outside-lands-set-tells-all1 point

I'm critical of the sets as much as a lot of you, but in Hella Mega/Festivals everything is staged. Pyros, lightning, visuals, backing tracks, everything song by song. They can't even alternate songs without notice. Sure it feels rushed, but they are trying new things (at least with a full staged show, they had in the past but not at this level where every song has something added, closest thing would be the American Idiot era shows at certain degree) Besides they are trying to capture a new audience again, so everything is the safest ever. Should they play different things? Sure, they can and proved so with the Metro show, but at the same time we must try to understand what the band is trying to do. Boring for us, the harcore ones, but I bet they will get loose with time1 point

At the hospital today I saw a guy wearing a "Flat Earth Society" t-shirt and so you know the Network song came into my head1 point

Bro, I absolutely love your enthusiasm for the band but you're really setting yourself up for disappointment if you are expecting anything more than a standard record. You should probably lower your expectations just a little just to be safe. We don't all want it to come out ASAP. In fact I personally only want it to come out when it's ready and not a moment sooner. I have had enough mixed bag records from the band and I just want them to put out something that they have taken their time on and can be proud of. The last thing we need right now is yet another "the new!" album that not even the band remembers.1 point

Had a dream that some guy was impersonating Billie online, but his tattoos didn't match. He also only had one arm. Otherwise he did look like him.1 point
