  1. Please no AI anniversary tour. Please please please.

  2. Depends on how ambitious the new album is going to be. I think it's probably going to be a smaller one and the band will likely just swap out a couple of their current setlist songs for new ones. When the AI anniversary kicks in, they could just play some longer shows for a while (to include the full AI album) in celebration without losing any of the current setlist. Why not? It's one of the most iconic albums in rock music and not all of us were able to see Green Day during the AI tour.. for some, this would be the next best thing. Potentially seeing them play AI in full live would be a moment I'd treasure for the rest of my life. Not everyone would want it, but I'm sure that if the opportunity was given, there would be far less people complaining than those who'd be interested in seeing it. That's not even taking into consideration the amount of hype and income it could generate for the band. Holy crap, I can't believe it's almost been 20 years since this album changed my life.

  3. Agreed but having said that I wouldn’t mind seeing Homecoming and Whatsername live 👀

  6. I rather hear Nimrod, Insomniac, Kerplunk, 39, Warning and most any of the other albuns in full live, then American Idiot which has been the base of the setlist since the release

  7. He knows we all want to be that dog 😂😂

  8. Exactly. If they want to progress as a band, which I actually think they do, they need to move on from AI. Now is not the time to devote an entire year to the album that still makes up a huge chunk of their setlists.

  10. Good catch! I wonder if it has both of their initials on it. It's definitely a new(er) one. The pervious ring was just a plain silver/white gold band.

  11. When someone gives you their business card, and their name is John Gallagher, and you have to resist asking them if they're the son of rage and love.

  12. I would be very happy about some Trilogy, 21CB and RevRad songs too, but if they want to fill stadiums, they need American Idiot songs. We have to be that realistic.

  16. Nah I’ve heard those songs enough. As much as I’d love to hear Homecoming live they have already milked the album to death. And it is my favorite album of all time lol. If they do it at all hopefully it’s a low-key surprise thing like the Dookie anniversary shows.

  17. I’m hoping hard for a new song at F1 on October 21. It’s just Green Day as far as I know so just their fans.

  20. Exactly. At this point, American Idiot in full would only add an extra 25-30 minutes or so to the set, which let's face it, isn't a lot of extra time needed to potentially do it. The time they normally spend at the end of JOS not playing the song is probably almost enough time to swap out for including She's A Rebel. Of course I'd love to see some deep, deep cuts from the discography but people need to realise that American Idiot is probably the best and most iconic album the band has ever done (It's not my favourite anymore, but best doesn't have to equal favourite). Not doing an anniversary celebration in some way would be a huge missed opportunity for the band, and choosing to do one doesn't have to mean that they can't also support their new album, nor does it mean that it has to last a long time. They could bring back the album art (without the FOAM shit all over it) and play some songs that not only I, but a massive portion of their fanbase would want to hear, like seriously guys, when was the last time they played Whatsername live? Someone, anyone tell me you don't want to hear that song live. Assuming this new album will have the usual 2 or 3 singles, they'd probably only need to make room for about 5 songs, lose the covers and KFAD (I still can't believe they brought that back) and you've got yourself more than enough time to do the new songs, unless BJ suddenly decides he likes long ones again now and has a couple on the new record, but we'll cross that bridge when/if we ever get to it. Doing a shared American Idiot/1972 tour would not only satisfy a lot of old fans (20 years has gone so fast...) but be great advertisement for the new album. It's a win/win situation, not only for the band, but the fans too. Even if they don't do the anniversary/new album as a whole tour thing, it's still a win/win, and if it ends up being big enough, who'd say no to potentially having a new concert film? That would be especially great if they squeezed in a couple of trilogy songs and Bang Bang. Always Bang Bang. But lets not get ahead of ourselves, the point is, nothing bad would come from doing it, only good, and that's not even taking into consideration the jump start in hype that the next (next) album could have because of the potential success of hypothetical tour.

  21. Dookie bass lines. American Idiot guitar shredding. Insomniac drums. FOAM lyrics, vocals and of course clapping, clapping, clapping.

  22. isnt every gd show somehow an AI anniversary show xD i dont see the need for a real anniversary tour, they could dodge some often-played AI songs and change them with less-played AI songs (letterbomb, homecoming) it will be interesting to see what they do next, how much energy is left after 2 years of hellamega shows, new album should mean new (world) tour, maybe they are ready to go immediately or maybe they want to have a break for some months, if the new lp is mostly done they could still take their break, release it a bit later etc

  23. Not everyone has or will likely ever get a chance to hear AI deep cuts live. A celebration for a year or so of that album's legacy won't hurt anyone but it'll make a lot of people happy.

  24. Tour wise would it not make more sense to wait til 2024 and do an AI anniversary combined with 1972?

  28. Yep. I hope the guys get a break between touring too. But who knows, maybe they're itching to do stuff outside of the FOAM/Hella Mega umbrella. But, it would be fantastic to have a single before the string of festivals happen in September/October (Lolla and Outside Lands probably too soon).

  29. That... uhhh.. doesn't sound right. In this video from CLA where they're wrapping up the mix of "Know Your Enemy", it was on February 27. Unless they recorded, mixed, and mastered something extremely late.

  32. Probably because at the end the lights flashing gave some dude a seizure on stage In 1999, Cavallo worked with Phil Collins on the Disney feature animated movie, "Tarzan." The lead single, "You'll Be in My Heart," won an Oscar, a Grammy and a Golden Globe award for best original song from a motion picture. The song stayed at No. 1 for 19 weeks on the Billboard Hot AC chart ... First google result lol

  34. Shit, those heavy guitars 😍 Definitely sounds drop D tuning, which I think has only been used on "Whatsername". Also, CLA!!!! Heck yes. This clip seems like it was from listening to mixes. Curious if it is a dated clip, or new. Anyone keeping up with their hair and facial hair styles to compare? The two quotes at the end: "This record is going to be so good." "1972 y'all"
