He's a musician not a politician and he isn't qualified to lead a country. He's doing the thing he's best at already - being a musician, and using his platform as a songwriter/celebrity to speak out about what's going on in the world.

Don't wanna be a downer but sadly I think Billie will be one of the next rock n' roll tragedy... Not that he's going to die but I think he will be the reason for the end of Green Day soon.

What things can he do to help while in the US that he can't do from outside the US? What do you even expect him to do to help, except use his platform to speak out as he's already doing (and that he can do exactly the same whatever country he's in)? Also how is the privilege angle even relevant? Him being able to leave doesn't negatively impact those who can't, and isn't the reason they can't. This idea that it's somehow outrageous or controversial to move to a different country seems very American. There isn't anything wrong with moving to a different country and it's a normal thing that millions of people do. And he probably isn't even going to lol, he's likely just expressing his frustration with what's going on. I don't think he even hated him personally, he was just on a rant against phones/technology and said it as hyperbole, an extreme way of saying "fuck technology". He was also drunk at the time and has apologised.

Sorry if this has been discussed already as I have not really been active on here in the last year that much, but what If it’s not only an album, but also an official biopic? i could honestly see it, I mean they’d have a ton to show and talk about at this point in their career, It would have to be like 3 hours long tho lol

I'm warming up to the shirt after what people have said about it. It does go with his "I don't take myself seriously" style and it's definitely waaaaay less cringy on Billie himself than it is on a fan. I wish the US tour had gotten this level of wardrobe variety. Think of the pictures I could have gotten! Instead all I got was that boring, black button up. No arms to be seen.

We went down a negative rabbit hole for a bit here, but what we know for a fact is that he's been well enough to play a fantastic show every night for the past month while I end up with a cough whenever I run up a flight of stairs a little too quickly

The thing with Billie is that the kind of show he does is way more demanding that what most frontmen do. All the running, jumping, all of that with a guitar is definitely much more of a strain than if he was just walking around/dancing and singing. So being able to do this as long as possible will demand adapting the show accordingly.

We are a really optimistic bunch 🤣 But maybe it’s a good thing, go out with a bang. Don’t just keep putting stuff out for the sake of it. thing is green days side projects have been better than the main albums!

I need to start counting shows too. I see so many people doing it. 🙈 Hope it won't be so long until they announce something new. Would love to have a full regular tour with one opening act.

Fun fact: You can hate the creator/inventor of something and still like or use that something. I dislike Markie Z a lot but I still use FB for events and to keep in contact with family, I also enjoy a certain animated tv show even tho the creator is an ass and I think he should be fired. These things can coexist.

Yes, it is a thing… Zelenskyy was an actor, some Polish rockstar founded an entire party, the Midnight Oil guy is a member of parliament in Australia, I could think of more. It’s easy to campaign on.

See to me that would have looked like he was trying too hard. This is so much more whimsical, the clothing equivalent of scribbling over the album cover and not taking yourself too seriously. I love it. Plus I’m sure it boosted sales of that design.

Is it cheating if you fall asleep before anything happens? idk how unpopular an opinion this is going to be, but honestly, it seems to me/I would assume that like most guys his age would, he probably enjoyed the attention from those girls/had a good time, and the women very much seemed to do the same… and as far as cheating is concerned that’s between him and his wife. We don’t know how they feel about it/deal with it... From my POV there’s nothing that incriminating going on in the video, but he’s not my partner so I don’t feel the need to spiral into a jealous fit. I would say there’s nothing horribly wrong with him having a night out, but obviously, it’s not good to get too out of it or do it too often, so I hope he’s practicing some harm reduction and has good quality of life, subjectively, in the end that’s what matters the most.

I think a part of it is the ease that comes with having a well rehearsed setlists that they’re confident and comfortable in playing. Also as with any cognitively demanding activities, it’s about how you distribute the capacity and I think Billie will rather put more into the show while playing songs he could play in his sleep than put more effort into playing less rehearsed stuff and have less of a show because he’d have to put more focus into memory and the performance.
