  1. Bring back Forever Now, that was beyond epic live. Even JOS paled in comparison

  3. If that happens, then they're just a legacy touring act at that point. Might as well start booking the casinos and state fairs.

  4. Plus, they've only been playing a little over an hour and a half, since they're with two other bands that are generally closers. If they go back to their usual 2 hours plus show when it's back to just them, they don't need to drop anything just to add the new songs.

  5. I would go as far as to say REPLACE JOS with Forever Now. I will forever hate how Billie drags on that last minute of JOS for what feels like an eternity. Forever Now is quick and fun and has layers and it just feels a little more relevant.

  6. Oh god YES! in a perfect world I would vote BL every time. Alternately, WMUWSE, 21 Guns, Homecoming or even JOS would make for good closers too imo. Edit: I'd also like to see a Green Day show that ends with Whatsername at some point in my lifetime. (On another note that's 4 AI songs without even thinking about which album they were all from. Just goes to show just how powerful of an album it really is.)

  8. Yeah it’s been rumoured alright .. I thought it was over the weekend though. If so, what time and is it likely to be televised ? https://www.somersetlive.co.uk/whats-on/whats-on-news/glastonbury-secret-set-green-day-7174678.amp

  9. Replace Hitchin A Ride and King for a Day. Both take up way too much time and they could play probably 3 or 4 songs from Dookie instead of those. Most of the songs are short so they would fit in the time.

  10. For all of their studio albums with the exception of FOAMF, they would play at least a few songs from their latest album during the following tour. The only reason FOAMF didn't was because Hella Mega was a greatest hits tour and the album singles didn't do well enough to justify them being on a greatest hits tour During RevRad tour, there were 6 songs from the album that were played regular, and 3 other songs that were played a couple of times During 99 Revolutions tour, each of the trilogy albums had at least 2-4 tracks that were played regularly and many other trilogy songs got played either during that tour, during the time of the album releases or before the trilogy was even announced So there's not really any reason to assume that 1972 isn't going to get the same treatment as RevRad or the trilogy. Some songs getting played regularly during the following tour but then mostly getting ignored after that

  11. Unless they absolutely love this new stuff, I imagine they would just put one 1972 song in the place of Pollyanna.

Don’t know where these came from as I can’t find it on TV but looks like Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes gave them their award. https://instagram.com/stories/billiejoearmstrong/2867094747491005808?utm_source=ig_story_item_share&igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= https://www.instagram.com/tv/CfKEDI1FCsi/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= https://www.instagram.com/tv/CfJ9GCvlnbu/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

  14. I think a part of it is the ease that comes with having a well rehearsed setlists that they’re confident and comfortable in playing. Also as with any cognitively demanding activities, it’s about how you distribute the capacity and I think Billie will rather put more into the show while playing songs he could play in his sleep than put more effort into playing less rehearsed stuff and have less of a show because he’d have to put more focus into memory and the performance.

  15. Second to last photo - is it just the way the screen is or did Billie chip his tooth again? It's hard to tell. EDIT: I found one where he is showing his teeth and there are no chips. Thank goodness because god knows he doesn't need to have anymore dental work done. The poor boy has been through enough of that!

  17. Take out any song that has crowd work that exceeds 30 seconds. I don't need to count 1.2.3.4 for a minute straight. I don't need to say OOOOOOOO for a minute straight. I don't need to hear them singing the same covers during KFAD. Crowd work during the first few songs, sure fine okay acceptable. After that, no more. I can only hear "Lets go crazy" so many times before I tear my hair out. I realize this is off topic for 1972, so I will end it there 😄

  24. Know Your Enemy, Brain Stew, King For a Day and sometimes Wake Me Up When September Ends could be cut which makes a space available for 4-5 songs

  25. I'd be fine with dropping JOS and replacing it with Forever Now (or Homecoming, or any other of their long songs). Never been a fan of the drawn out moment. HAR and KFAD can never leave! No matter how many times I see them, they're my favorite moments. Agree with Jen, drop the covers. Plenty of great GD songs they could play instead of Knowledge and R&RAN. And of course, drop KYE.

  27. C’mon, you can’t mean they can’t get laundry done 😉😂. I think he just likes to think he’s still a grubby little punk.

  28. i think the crowd work in Hitchin a Ride is very important. Especially during the older songs, a part of the audience (which doesn‘t know many old songs) somehow fades away a bit. And I think that it‘s important to keep them entertained as well.

  30. You know what's strange about King For A Day? It doesn't even feel like a Nimrod track when they perform it. It's taken on a separate identity as 'that thing they do in concert' rather than what it technically is, which is a Nimrod deep cut. I bet Green Day feel so rebellious when they play this one and St. Jimmy. 😄

  34. From Kerrang: https://www.kerrang.com/green-day-announced-as-winners-of-the-kerrang-icon-award Punk rock legends Green Day will receive the prestigious Kerrang! Icon award, presented by Marshall, at this year’s Kerrang! Awards. Previous Icon winners include punk heroes the Ramones and MC5, and on June 23 we will celebrate the epic career of a band who have inspired countless artists over the years – from Fall Out Boy to Billie Eilish. Speaking about presenting the East Bay punks with the Kerrang! Awards’ top accolade, K! Editor Luke Morton said: “Few bands have done more to change the fabric of rock music than Green Day. From the seminal and essential explosion of Dookie to the visionary American Idiot and beyond, they have been a gateway band for generations of fans looking for something raw, something exhilarating and something life-affirming. The Kerrang! Icon award is presented in recognition of the band’s longevity and legacy as one of the greatest and most important acts in the history of rock and alternative music, who still captivate and electrify millions of fans all over the world with the power of punk rock.” Since their rough-and-ready debut 39/Smooth back in 1990, Green Day have got on to sell over 70 million records across the world, including over 10 million for the era-defining Dookie. On top of appearing at the K! Awards, they’ll be levelling stadiums across the UK from June 24 with Fall Out Boy, Weezer and Amyl And The Sniffers for the long-awaited Hella Mega Tour. The Kerrang! Awards take place on June 23 and voting is open now for categories including Best British Act, Best Live Act and Best Album. Stay tuned to Kerrang! for more info on the Awards and how you can follow what’s happening on the night. Congrats boys!

  40. I do remember that. It could also be something like fatigue or not feeling confident in playing the song well. I understand audibles can be a little tricky, but it seems like if there are any changes in the setlists, its mainly just removing songs rather than throwing in something new to the mix
