On the HM group in FB, one fan has written that he was there for Weezer and yes, they were good but GD were a whole different level. I just love seeing comments like that!

it was the same at rock am ring festival, most people know green day for songs like basket case, bobd, wmuwse (the classics you know) and everyone i talked to was blown away of their show and energy, yes the setlist is just the hits, as a "diehard" greenday fan i prefer other songs, but for the masses its perfect many people forgot about GD, with their current show and set they remind everyone what they are capable of, now they just need to release a very good album in the next months, then people will be fully aware of GD in 2022/23 and not like the past 10 years of saying "green day? they are still around?" i may also add that all the other bands at rock am ring festival did great shows, most of them had a lot of fun and a lot of energy, but still GD are always one step better than any other band i see live, its amazing!

They always are. No one can compete. Green Day just blows everyone else out of the water! That's how it was at my show too. Totally captivating energy and expert musicianship that is absolutely unmatched by any modern age rock band.

My friend, Florence, who used to be on here, went to the Vienna show! I'm excited to hear about it! I told her to give my love to Billie of course. Hey, yes you got to some shows but it’s still reasonable to be disappointed that all your careful planning fell apart. Is it the worst thing in the world, no and others are suffering worse but it doesn’t make you bad for feeling how you do. I saw GD in London for RevRad and for first time ever was going to see them twice, shortly after in Glasgow but Glasgow was cancelled and Glasgow was gutted. I get how you feel.

Thanks for the pics! The sticker I made was very basic, just a white square with the band name in capitals. On this guitar, it's been stuck over another sticker with that pattern on it. In the current photo of the guitar, you can make out the original shape of my sticker from the brown residue/adhesive that remains. Weird to think that I was 17 when I made it and handed it to Billie at the gig. I love how on the present day photo of the guitar, you can see how corroded by sweat/playing it is now. Not much left of it. I also gave him some stickers at the Astoria gig in September 1997. You can see the moment in the video of the gig on YouTube. I'll post timestamps later.One was a red 'Squirtgun' sticker and one was a black 'Groovie Ghoulies' sticker, which he stuck on the original 'Blue' during the gig and can be seen in the video, covering up the 'The Muffs' sticker. I guess he decided he didn't like it there, as it was removed at the next gig I saw (Feb '98) 👍

It's funny you mentioned harmonies because I was just thinking not only would I like to hear more lead vocals from them, but why aren't they even in harmonies anymore? It always seems to just be Billie harmonizing with Billie. We need more Mike and Tre vocals everywhere.

I watched this video this morning and I just wanted to post it because it made me so happy. Seeing a Green Day fan capable of playing guitar, just have the best night of his life. Playing on stage in front of thousands of people, jamming with Green Day, and seeing Billie Joe impressed that he actually nailed the solo. The whole thing just made me warm and fuzzy and makes me appreciate how much this band means to so many people.

How lucky are we that we get a tshirt without the vest, eyeliner, nail polish and it's so cute he's wearing the necklace from Amedeo Cicala! So sweet!

Really amazing to see this guitar! If you look at the sticker on the upper horn of the guitar, just underneath the black tape, it's a very faded 'One Man Army' sticker. I made that sticker at home with a Sharpie and handed it to Billie from the front row of the London Astoria gig, Feb 1st 1998, along with an orange 'Hi-Fives' sticker. I remember him dropping it on the stage after he took it from me. I had no Idea that he stuck it on one of his guitars! I guess he must have picked it up after the gig. If you watch the video of the gig, he takes the stickers from me during the extended outro to 'When I Come Around' (timestamp 1hr 11mins 17secs into the vid)👍
