Being in Scotland, I’ve only managed to see them three times so far so frankly they could be singing Sesame Street songs and I’d go to see them.7 points

So happy for you that you get to see them again soon! Everyone has different opinions on this which is totally fine, but living in California, I've seen them 10 times and I'd literally still see them even if they sang the alphabet on repeat lol3 points

In Europe we don‘t care about the fact that the setlist is more or less the same. We‘re just happy that the guys are coming to us, especially in a little country like Austria.3 points

This is great too 🤩 Does anyone know where the original video of this came from? I found it 😄 https://www.instagram.com/p/Cenas77tEkq/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link3 points

I honestly don't think it's a pipe dream. It seemed from the start that the intent of Hella Mega was to be a 1990s and mid-2000s nostalgia trip for 30-50 year olds now with disposable income to come out and enjoy the greatest hits from the pop rock bands they listened to in middle school, high school, and college. There was absolutely zero chance Green Day would come out and play deep cuts and songs from their latest album that A) Likely no one in the audience purchased/listened to and B) Was heavily insinuated by the band to be a throwaway album. Whenever <insert next album name> releases and the band has their own tour(s) in support of it, I would be shocked if we didn't return to the more dynamic setlists and ones that don't overtly pander to the "Oh, Green Day, I like their 'I Walk Alone' song from high school dances" crowds. Will they still play the hits? Of course; there will never be a tour show where the band doesn't play "Basket Case", "Good Riddance", etc. As much as they like their music, I'd have to imagine they're more than ready to switch things up. Unless more dates get announced, there's hopefully about one month left of this (god forbid it extends into this fall's lineup of festivals). --- I probably come across as overly dramatic and ungrateful, which is not what I am. If I could, would I go to every one of these shows and listen to the same setlist at each stop? Heck yes; I love this band and their music and could never get sick of it. I think I'm just more ready for something meaningful again from them.3 points

I have finally chiseled my top 10 Green Day songs out of the 64 finalists. Feel free to roast me, as I know this list might cause some of you great distress since there are no Dookie tracks on here. Stuart and the Ave is the oldest song on the list and it put up a fierce battle against my favorite singles, like Holiday, Minority and Hitchin a Ride to get here. Welp, back to work on the other 54. 1. Too Dumb To Die 2. American Eulogy 3. Still Breathing 4. The Saints Are Coming 5. Scattered 6. Rusty James 7. Haha You’re Dead 8. Brutal Love 9. Stuart and the Ave. 10. Restless Syndrome2 points

They’re not calling it a biggest hits tour because they still have a modicum of dignity - that’s why they came up with hella mega2 points

I've got a list of favorite studio album songs as well, but this list was from everything they've ever done. I was very tempted to put Saints Are Coming as my #1 choice because I love it that much, but hey. We all hear things differently. Covers almost overtook my whole top 10! A Quick One While He's Away, We Are the Champions, Hybrid Moments, Working Class Hero, Surrender, Bastards of Young, Johnny B Goode, The Kids Are Alright.... imagine if Too Dumb To Die was the only original in the list... But here's the real kicker....Tre Cool's Chocolate Rain cover was in the running. Not kidding. These need more tinkering, but I'm working on my top 10 singles, album cuts, b-sides and finally, covers.1 point

I love this list, apart from the one cover. I’m not a fan of the song but also covers shouldn’t count for favorite GD songs IMO.1 point

If you've tested positive you must have a refund. If not it's very unfair1 point

I disagree. Yes, were there a mega hella show in Switzerland, I’d probably go, but since there isn’t, this year I won’t bother to travel anywhere else to see them. On the other hand, if this were their own tour, with even the slightest possibility of a setlist shake-up and a few new songs from their latest album, I’d probably try to travel to Germany, Italy or Austria etc. to see them. And if the setlist got anywhere near as dynamic as in the 21CB (or even trilogy) days, I’d happily see them several times, in different places.1 point

OK so it is this actual launch here: I thought there was at least video but looks like audio only. According to my old spreadsheet I have a soundboard recording? I'll need to go look for that (could be a typo) So your memories must be getting mixed, there was a launch but Storytellers wasn't until a few months later.1 point

From Billie's Instagram story From Tre - sounds like some kind of procession1 point

I still think Green Day are at a place in their career where they don't have to reserve deep cuts or rarities for theater shows. For Hella Mega, the same setlist makes sense, but for their regular tours? They can definitely change it up. There are bands who have been going longer than them and who sell out stadiums that change it up every night. Green Day can do the same. They just have to say fuck it and do it.1 point

So, at least I had a dream with Billie in it, still far from what I hoped for and god alone knows what it means. It started with what looked like a picture of three Billie’s on split zoom screen but stacked horizontally. On zooming in, the top one was some child actor’s dad who looked very like him (?) and the bottom one was Corey Taylor in a cowboy hat! Billie was in the middle looking like he did in that pic of him in a cafe in Amsterdam, glasses, black leather jacket, very nice. Kept zooming in, they were all talking and laughing, to Corey’s living room which had a huge coffee table with enormous plastic pillar legs with flowers in them and dozens of boxes of OMO washing powder all round the room, which was apparently, a protest against plastic use. Getting these beautiful pics and my brain is doing this!!!1 point

Robbie Williams uses a teleprompter for years now and he walks around on the stage. I think he got a few of them at different places of the stage 😄1 point

It would be, but it would also inhibit his ability to move around the stage a bit, and he would need a pretty big scrolling font to see without his glasses. It would be an adjustment for sure. He’s already been using one for the KISS cover.1 point

And if Billie can remember the lyrics. He seems to have more trouble with songs written since 2018 that involve less long term/muscle memory.1 point

100% in agreement with you. Some of the shows on this tour seem to be just pure headline sets so the fact that they play NGFL the other night in Copenhagen is something I guess 🤪 God I remember when I saw them in Milan in 2017 they played Scattered and Christie Road! 😍1 point

I’d hardly call it an era lol they played Father of All and Oh Yeah like a handful of times and Fire Ready Aim once or twice and Billie did the acoustic performance of Graffitia and then the album never existed again. Hella Mega is a greatest hits tour for them and FOAM never really got a tour. Personally I’m sick of hearing the same songs every time I see them and I’m really hoping we can go to the 21CB era style where there was a different set each night. But it’s a pipe dream and even though I love them I really don’t think they know what they’re doing anymore.1 point
