  2. Insulting the people who volunteer their time to provide a free forum for you to entertain yourself with, is, in fact, being an ass. No one on the team tries to claim we are providing you with "state of the art tech" - we are all just regular people who have real jobs in the real world and give up our free time to try and make this place fun. I don't have anything to do with the back end and I'm not going to claim I know anything about it (and I doubt you do either), but I do know that members of this team dedicate a lot of time into stuff that you will never see, just to keep this place running. There's no reason to be a jerk and start throwing around shit about how the admin team does not know what they are doing, because without them, there would be no GDC - yucky profile pics or not.

  3. Don't be an ass. People volunteer their time so you have a place to spam when you're drunk. If it bugs you that much, just log off.

  6. Nah we actually aren't too shabby. We just don't have the time we did even 5 years ago to work on the sites like we once did. I miss the days when I spent way too much time on here avoiding the writing papers for school... Adulting sucks.

  7. I haven't played around with the themes since getting access, but was going to look into this afternoon. But after that comment you wait for Andres to get around to it and that could be a long wait.

  8. Could be people holding the posts over a few days for content reasons or at the bands request to keep certain locations private while they were there.

  9. Well I am a tech for the Quebec government so if you want I can be the official GDC Technician I have plenty of time because I work from home so I can help bringing back everyone's profile pic.

  10. Sometimes that's a blessing in disguise. Years ago that was the case with U2 for All That You Can't Leave behind. They won several Grammys for their single one year, which was out prior to the deadline, and then for the album the following year. I have to say though, I have a problem with all of these older bands winning best rock when there are so many great new bands that are really doing more innovative things. Just my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I'll be thrilled if GD wins, but also torn.

  13. GDC used to occasionally ask for new staff or moderators; I haven't seen that in awhile. I'm sure other people (myself included) would be willing to help out here and on the GDA side of things.

  14. Austria‘s public television station just used Fire Ready Aim for a teaser of a Kevin James movie. Last year they already used Oh Yeah for a teaser of Who Want‘s To Be a Millionaire 😄

  15. I can see them not mentioning Jake's accident, but strictly in the context of COVID it was a serious case of revisionist history to say the tour went perfectly and without a hitch, considering FOB missed a week of shows due to positive tests. That's a flat out lie, I wonder if it was the publicist that wants to whitewash the tour and hope everyone forgets and told the interviewer to leave it out or if they really didn't know. Hard to believe, since it was very well known at the time that they missed several shows.

  16. I thought it said "Tre Cool replaced by modern drummer" for a second. I wasn't even that upset to be honest.

  18. Recommend reading all four articles at the link. This is basically the only interview we’ve gotten about the Hella Mega Tour and all four drummers talk about it. It’s all worth reading

  22. As the humanitarian crisis caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine continues to grow in urgency, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced on Saturday the “Stand Up for Ukraine” pledging summit, taking place on Saturday, April 9. The event aims to mobilize significant funding to help vulnerable civilians impacted by the conflict and to support refugees everywhere. Ahead of the summit, a global social media rally supported by Global Citizen will take place on Friday, April 8, in response to a new video from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in which he called on the international community to help people affected by the invasion. The rally will encourage citizens to call on governments, institutions, corporations, and individuals to donate to humanitarian efforts for Ukraine and refugees from conflicts worldwide, such as Yemen, South Sudan, and Afghanistan. Dozens of artists, entertainers, athletes, and advocates will join the rally, including Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye, Adam Durica, Aitana, Alanis Morissette, Alejandro Sanz, Alexandra Stan, Angélique Kidjo, Annie Lennox, Billie Eilish, Billy Joel, Celine Dion, Chris Isaak, Chris Rock, Demi Lovato, Elton John and David Furnish, FINNEAS, Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood, Gloria Steinem, Green Day, Herbert Grönemeyer, Hugh Jackman and Deborra-lee Furness, Igo, Jon Batiste, Jonas Brothers, Juanes, Kacey Musgraves, Katy Perry, Leon Bridges, Luke Combs, Madonna, Miley Cyrus, Mirai, Ozzy Osbourne, Pearl Jam, Pharrell Williams, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ryan Tedder, Sarsa, Shaquille O’Neal, Stevie Nicks, Stevie Wonder, Tame Impala, U2, Usher, Vito Bambino, and Young Leosia. 23. Of course it is for Jake to speak on as that is who had his life instantly changed. But the editorial claim that there wasn't turmoil, is false and should have been left off.

  24. Ah then you better hope we get around making to a GDC awards for you to have something to vote on. Since I already have your vote for worst mod , perhaps I'll let you keep this as your profile pic permanently as a token of my gratitude.

  25. Awesome articles! interesting in the Hella Mega article it mentions “no COVID issues” amongst the crew. Well, one or the members of Fall Out Boy did get COVID soooooo
    1 point
  26. I think you need to bear in mind they were really talking in the context of Covid and also, Jake’s accident is for him to speak about if he wishes. It’s not for one band member to go sharing about another person’s accident, especially a private individual, and I guess there could be legal implications too if Jake has a claim against the forklift company or anything.

  27. I haven't had the chance to read it (adulting sucks), but the caption on page 4 is a... interesting choice of words. I'm not sure that Jake and some of the crew would agree with the "no turmoil" statement. 🤷‍♀️

  37. I just read an article about how music streams and sales increase after Grammy wins. I would love to see GD winning a Grammy again, then they could get high chart positions again and the public recognition they deserve

  41. I totally agree with you & I don‘t want to drag on the Trilogy BUT I hate the production of these records & my biggest association with the name 'Rob Cavallo' is him saying 'It takes balls to record these songs' in Quatro or something like that. I just think it‘s funny that everyone here loves Cavallo (with good reason ofc) whilst I always think back to 16 y/o me being outraged at him for this blatant lie

  42. I think it's so easy to get hyped up about this one because it's the first time since RevRad that we're hearing some actual meaty double tracked guitars, big drums, classic dirnt bass riffs etc. -- this sounds quintessentially Green Day where FOAMF and The Network (obviously) didn't, so in a sense to me this feels like the first proper release from them in 6 years. And the fact that I can say all of that from minutes of teasers can only be a good thing As I've said though I'd still err on the side of caution here and don't think anybody should be expecting an 18 track rock opera backed by a full orchestra. But I do think the Green Day we know and love are coming back (and that's from a FOAMF enjoyer)

  43. Ik people were saying before that they were getting kinda irritated by how few and far between the updates have been but I'm liking this teasing/promotional period far more than what we got for FOAMF. For FOAMF they only started teasing quite close to the release of the first single if I remember correctly and all of the teases we got had me worried about the album. The tour with Weezer/FOB, the trash album cover, the singles, the weird descriptions for the singles. It felt strange and the singles to this day still stand out as being the weakest parts of the album for the most part. We've only gotten some teasers so far and the band are still recording but so far, I'm already more excited for this release
