Are you saying we're getting one thousand nine hundred and seventy-two Green Day all at one time? With titles? *cracks knuckles.5 points

Could be wrong but maybe he was planning on performing that at the NYE show in Miami before he had to cancel. Given it was just him I don't think he would have performed a GD song. May have just been a fun thing he wanted to do.4 points

Sadly, the #1972 hint might be referring to something like a title and not the amount of songs we're getting #1972gdsongschallenge3 points

This is the whole point, heās not trying to be anything other than himself. I love him for it!3 points

I think the deal with calling BIllie a dad is that he's a middle aged guy who sometimes gets into situations where he seems kind of out of place (most often due to Crush being delusional), but it's harmless, he's not coming from a place of "back in my day"-ism and he's very well-loved, so calling him a boomer seems inappropriate. Dad is the same age but without the negative connotations.2 points

I didnāt watch the entire show but a cover of Jolene isnāt exactly ānewā. I think it was originally released in 1974? It doesnāt matter. Itās iconic. Dolly Parton is Mileyās godmother I think? Either way, people know that song and who Dolly Parton is. Sheās iconic. I donāt think genre or age means much of anything with a New Years Eve variety show. Everyone seems to listen to everything. Or nothing at all. I saw an interview and I canāt remember where or what exactly but from what I recall Pete Davidson didnāt know who the Arctic Monkeys are. Not I know or care either itās just an example of everything knowing nothing and everything and nothing at all. No need to continually call someone a ādadā like it makes them obsolete in a certain crowd when it doesnāt matter. Billie is iconic. I am really disappointed when people on this board and on social media keep referring to Billie as a ādadā like he might be embarrassing. Heās so much cooler than that. Technically yes heās a dad. He had kids when he was a kid himself and now theyāre grown. Hopefully he can spend more time on himself these days. He himself is not finished growing up and evolving. I canāt wait to see what he does next.2 points

It makes me sad he didn't go but I was so relieved when he said he tested negative ā¤ļø2 points

Yeah but how many people watching Miley and Pete Davidson know who The Beach Boys are2 points

I agree with you. He's always been a dork and nothing has changed. It doesn't have anything to do with the fact that he has children. He'd still be this way if he never had any kids. He's just Billie.2 points

Back in 2017/18 he would frequently post to stories the documentaries he watch, just like this. Most them were of Elvis.2 points

I really donāt like when people say Billie is a dad in that kind of stereotypical way. Heās way cooler than that. He was too young for all of that when it happened for him and ironically because he was so young itās over. He has grown adult children. He made it through and he is not a dork because heās a dad. Heās just a dork.2 points

Let's hope this doesn't fall through like the New Years performance. I'm predicting the situation with breakthrough COVID cases is only going to get worse over the next few months. If that happens, it just might not be safe for them to try to do it. I would rather they be cautious and protect themselves than do a show and get the virus, despite how much I want to see them play again.2 points

I think the problem with Helamega was that there were a limited number of jackets. I would have liked to see more of them.1 point

When Billie only posts stories But when I see he likes his bandmates posts why if all he posts are stories now...? kind of makes me sad1 point

Whoever was in charge of his face in 2019/2020 was putting him through the standard kardashianization protocol they use for female celebs, which always looks weird and uncanny, but it stood out even more on a guy.1 point

I know this is a little delayed, by I was reading people talking about a next album potentially being covers....I wouldn't think so since he just released an album of all covers...It was fun, but I hope he got that out of his system bc I'm greedy and want new, original Green Day songs.1 point

Without a doubt one of my favorite album!I keep drawing people with the nimrod. logo covering their face nimrod. is such an inspirational album for me my favorite is probably Worry Rock, Haushinka, Scattered, Jinx, Prosthetic Head -practically everything1 point
-
Nimrod was a real grower for me. I didn't care for it much to begin with, but it has some really solid tracks. Plus, Scattered is one of the prettiest songs in the band's back catalogue.1 point

Nimrod is one of my favorite album of all time! My favorite song on it is Scattered, followed by Reject and Good Riddance. Really like The Grouch, Redundant and Worry Rock though. Billie said in Quatro that the lyrics were a disaster on this album, but it's just genius and so natural to me.1 point
