Billie's return to Instagram aligns perfectly with my return to GDC. HALLELUJAH Billie looks A M A Z I N G. Looking a little rugged but you know what I don't mind. It's looking good. Billie has truly given this blessed gifts for the patient fangirls. Thank you, Billie. (Now please bring back livestreams)8 points

I'd hope he wasn't being bombarded by messages at all of any description as he's only just back and we don't want him to disappear again!8 points

It definitely made me more cynical when the only band contact we had was their efforts to harvest our data, sell us merch and coffee. I felt undervalued and like I wasn’t getting much in return for my devotion. It really was starting to wear on me. And it doesn’t take much to turn that around because I love this band and want to be engaged. A simple thing like a personal IG post and I’m on my knees apologizing for ever doubting them 😂 It’s such a low effort but high reward move. I mean just look at the fan reaction here and on Instagram and Twitter. My discover page is full of his selfie reposted by everyone. Before that it was the same old photos and fewer than ever.7 points

I really do think his absence was affecting the fandom in a negative way. People were losing interest, moving on, there was less activity here even with a tour and new singles. I wonder if they are aware of that to any degree that while Tre tried to pick up the slack (and we love and appreciate his efforts) it wasn’t the same and the fandom really wakes up and invests again when Billie is active online.7 points

Boy, my memory with things lately is terrible. First the shirt at the Trilogy show and now mistaking this. Swing and a miss once again. I guess it's what he's wearing that makes me think of the musical. He wore a necklace like that and inside out shirts a lot around that time. Anyway, no one's posted this here yet so I'll go ahead. As you're all aware, I hate when he has a beard, but I can absolutely fangirl over the rest! Look at those curls! 😍 And most importantly, HE'S BACK!!!!7 points

OMG BILLIE! I did not believe it when I saw the post on Instagram. I'm beyond myself with joy that he's back! I sincerely hope he's planning to stick around for a while now, permitting assholes and/or overly eager fans don't fuck it up. He looks so good and his hair is wonderful and curly! Y'all know I'm not about that beard, but everything else it perfect.7 points

If he happens to be at the Golden Bull watching the Prima Donna show in Oakland tomorrow night (doubtful, but I'm secretly hoping) I will personally thank him from all of us, for returning to Instagram Jk, I won't do that6 points

Completely agree with @pacejunkie punk and think this is even magnified after the crappy last while, we have all come to really appreciate the little things which actually make a big difference. Quick selfie from Billie = tons of happy fans.5 points

This is annoying me now I thought I'd found it but this isn't it either is it? Source Edit: I found it! It was Bologna in 2013! That was one I definitely didn't remember.5 points

I would like to think Bille has seen our posts and realized how much we missed him! But I'd also like to think he really did miss us too (not the trolls obvs)5 points

Then whatever you do, try not to think about the number of well received albums the band has had in the last 10 years. Oops.4 points

The first year of the pandemic felt pretty ok with the Network and No Fun Mondays and the livestreams etc. This past year has sucked a lot more and felt even more of a disconnect with the fandom even with the tours and stuff. It’s felt like a ghost town without the random posts and livestreams when so many of us are in other countries etc. It was probably hitting the fandom a lot harder on top of isolation and a never ending pandemic. It feels like everything is going to better again I’ve been so much happier since yesterday and I’m so glad I’m not alone in feeling this I took the Instagram posts and all the fun stuff for granted for about a decade at this point? Never again. I missed it so much and I definitely wasn’t the only one. Definitely a lot more activity on the GDC and social media fan accounts in just one day with just one random post. He was very missed.4 points

I know they're not illicit. That said, I don't see why that should matter. The distinction of illicit and non-illicit drugs is only a legal construct based on an arbitrary decision that only perpetuates the stigma around addiction. I see no point in furthering this power structure by using the language it created, so in this context, I deliberately use the word drug as an umbrella term for any substance being abused.4 points

I have a kind of biased opinion because I always loved 21CB as it was the first time I had ever been able to buy a new GD album the day it came out, since back then I had only been a huge fan for a few years, and that was after I discovered AI. The experience of taking a bus into the city and buying the 21CB special edition, looking at all the art on the way home and finally being able to pop the CD into my computer and read along with the songs playing while being immersed in the story and art of the album is an experience I will never, ever forget. However, It wasn't really until now that I have been listening to it often but with a more critical perspective, that I can fully appreciate just how hard the boys worked on this record from front to back, making almost every single song fully realized and as good as it can be. There is SO MUCH going on musically and experimentally in 21CB that looking back, I just don't understand how it didn't end up being even bigger than AI, honestly. It's like 21CB was supposed to be GD's Abbey Road, their magnum opus. It just never seemed to be reflected that way by the public. I remember people saying stuff like "they were trying too hard to be like U2" (Yes that was a real comment I heard 😂), as well as comments like "They think they are bigger than they actually are", or "They copied The Black Parade" (which is one of the reasons it took so long for me to look past the MCR fanbase and start to appreciate the band's music). It's heart breaking, honestly... Looking back, I can't really blame the boys for wanting to go back to basics after that, since after all they put so much blood, sweat and tears into almost every aspect of 21CB, and it somehow didn't surpass their previous work in the public eye when this really should have made the band even bigger and even more widely appreciated. A few nights ago I even had a dream that the band put up the 21CB font as their social media picture and then announced another 21CB tour along with a spiritual sequel album. Whether or not that was just a dream or somehow in an alternate universe it actually happened and that version of me somehow communicated it to this version of me is a whole other thing that I am already starting to confuse myself with so I am just gonna see myself out before I end up writing a novel on here about it 😅. TLDR: The album really is an underrated masterpiece, and I really hope the band will revisit the concept again in the future.4 points

Now no sudden moves anybody I’m so afraid something will scare him away again and the collective punishment will resume. I hope he turns off commenting. All his old followers are still there but the past posts are all gone.4 points

I stumbled across yet more photos of Billie's strange vendetta against cake and had to share. Looks like it's from the AI on Broadway celebration.4 points

It will be interesting to see how frequently he posts now that he's reactivated his account. Although Tre's posts from the tour were good, people would've gone to Billie's posts first (since he's the frontman) if he'd been active on the tour. Not to mention this forum will be more active if Billie continues to post stuff.3 points

You used to be able to order cocaine and heroin from a Sears catalogue or something, complete with the tools (like syringes) to use them. Laudanum was put on a pedestal as a fix-all drug for children. The chemicals have't changed, only the legality surrounding usage. Prescription drugs can still be just as dangerous if abused or combined with other substances. I'm still so fucking thankful we still have Billie around. It could easily have gone a different way. I guess that last part is my random GD thought. Maybe let's stop talking about drugs now?3 points

This could be my favourite so far, wait for the very end….3 points

To this day, it bugs me how Billie said how he wrote Dirty Rotten Bastards as an arena anthem yet they still haven’t played it live!3 points

My guess is that after the iHeart Radio incident and Billie’s rehab, the Trilogy would be forever linked to that and it would bring back painful memories. But the Otis remixes IMO prove that he’s getting over it3 points

I always hear about how the trilogy was their midlife crisis but FOAMF sounds way more like a midlife crisis to me. At least the trilogy sounded like they were aware that they were aging and stuff. FOAMF just sounds like they're trying to stay young and hip and it's a bit embarrassing No, they're not gonna do anything for the trilogy. At least not anything big. They don't usually do anything big for 10 year anniversaries anyway I'm pretty sure, they're certainly not gonna for the trilogy. Maybe we'll get a few otis mixes but nothing more than that3 points

Yes, I would hope he's ready to put the midlife crisis past him - it's been the last 10 years!3 points

Tré's christmas dance made me so happy today 😁 but just now when I saw Billie posted a story my heart jumped and saved the pic immediately (after I panicked when I clicked and his user pic disappeared and said something like "user not found" or something...) Such a beautiful christmas present in advance 😍😍😍3 points
