  1. I dunno, they seemed to really enjoy the small shows before the Rev Rad Tour and during the Longshot era... I don't think one route is necessarily better than the other, they both have their benefits.

  2. The small shows are nothinggggggg like the stadium shows. Both are spectacular but also spectacularly different. I hope the Longshot lives on and still does the small tours and Green Day still does the surprise small pop-up shows. I think they work too hard on stuff like Dead Mermaids, Coverups, FBHT and the Longshot etc to ever not have the desire to do small shows. It’s in their hearts.

  4. I saw a couple of people wear the Longshot shirts in the pit at the LA show. (me being one of them :D) hopefully Billie got to see throughout the tour in general the Longshot is well supported to bring it back 🙂

  7. There's something very elegant about the way he looks in the 3rd to last photo where he's holding the light. I can't quite describe it, but I love it and I love him.

  8. I would say Rock and Roll All Nite is about as classic rock as you can get... not surprising at all to have another rock band cover it. Africa was just sort of meme-ified with the Weezer cover. I don't think that song has nearly had as much lasting impact but holy shit did it blow up. It's just one of those cringe songs you think of when you think of the '80s. It was definitely intended to be a parody, I mean they even have Weird Al in the music video. ... and now I'm down this rabbit hole again

  9. I saw a few people wearing the network shirt when I was waiting in line during the philly show lol, I think I saw a couple of the longshot too? but really, I wouldn’t mind another small longshot show or just another small release in general

  10. It was a hit for Toto in it's day, but you're right I think Weezer's cover was ironic and it was celebrated ironically as a bit cheesy

  11. I think he looks almost wistful, but you are right, there’s a quality to it I can’t quite define.

  14. i'm looking for an interview from 2004-ish (AI era) where Billie is asked about the difference between northern and southern california and he replies that the difference is that his boobs are natural. i want proof that i didn't hallucinate this. thanks a lot for your help!

  15. The difference was it was like playing to a festival crowd even night. There were likely as much as half the audience there to see the other bands so all they knew were hits. Made sense to do a greatest hits show. A tour for an audience of just GD fans would have included at least a handful of deeper tracks and surprises, and a slightly longer set time when it isn’t four bands and a curfew for outdoor venues.

  16. LMAO, been flicking through Instagram and I saw somebody describe Billie lying on the piano like a baby waiting for a diaper change 🤣🤣🤣

  17. "Daft. Bloody mad." That's how the family described GD after seeing the video. They were cackling at Kevin flying over the table. The video does a great job at capturing the travelling circus feel that GD tours have.

  19. I finally uploaded my videooooooos!! Here is a link to the playlist. There are a few FOB and Weezer vids too, but mostly GD. I got AI, BOBD, WMUWSE, part of Longview, HAR, Good Riddance, Holiday, and Billie's band introductions.

  23. Do people think Africa is good? I thought that's partly why the Weezer cover blew up. The song hit meme status for whatever reason. I always felt people saw it as a meh song.

  24. If so expect the same setlist for the rest of their career

  30. Love Mike and love Kermit. They both seem like such sweet souls. P.S. I still miss Billie Joe posting on Insta and I will not forget it haha. But seriously. What a weird void. Years of fun interaction and then a big ditch. He used to post a lot! I’d like to thank Tré the hero during these troubled times for the wonderful posts ❤️ so good and heartfelt and funny too! Love him so much always and more ❤️ but still missing the lead singer guy.

  32. Green Day should do a cover of The Man Comes Around by Johnny Cash, with all three guys trading lead vocals. Maybe Mick Jagger as well, have him wearing Fink's mask. THAT would be unexpected.

  36. Yeah, it's just because he's raising his arms. I have a Panasonic Lumix FZ200 that I took in. I talked security into it because they clearly stated that detachable lens cameras are prohibited, but mine is a fixed lens bridge camera and that was not listed in the prohibited items. Loopholes, baby! As for souvenirs, I did not get anything. The merch line was a fucking joke and I don't think they had any Horny plushies, which would have been what I wanted to get. I did grab a piece of confetti that says Green Day on it, though. I laminated it with packing tape and put it in my concert box.

  40. You've heard of an elf on a shelf, now get ready for... ...Billie on a piano. It's Billie Joe (accidentally spelled Billie Hoe at first), not Billy Joel but he seems to be a piano man anyway And most importantly, his legs look delicious 😋

  44. It took at least five years to hear what Billie really thought about the trilogy in hindsight I’m guessing we’re not far enough removed from it for honesty. Every album in some way feels like a course correction on the previous one so I’m guessing he’ll be up to talking about it once he’s talking up the next release. He’ll be all “I hate short songs that make you feel bad.” 😄

  45. Still, I wonder what the deal with FOAM was... was it ever meant to be played live? Did they just put out whatever so that they could promote the tour? How does Billie feel about it now in hindsight? These are all questions I'd like to get answers to and most likely never will.
    1 point
  46. Yeah he’s always gonna love that stuff. I was just thinking this may look like a generic hits tour and not a FOAM tour per se, really just taking into account the promo pic and last two singles using new font style and look
    1 point
  47. I’ve noticed that promo pic is getting great use this year it’s been the cover art for two singles (HCTS and the basis for the art on the Oakland coffee BBC single) and now for this. I guess they’re done with the flaming red jackets look. I’m not expecting to see any FOAM iconography on this tour at all.
