This seems dumb , I don't drink coffee and if I did I wouldn't be buying imported expensive stuff. Like, I guess it's better than some big corporate sponsor but I dunno why they'd want to associate the band with coffee to this extent? Associating the band with an expensive luxury product/subscription for well off middle class types that it's likely the majority of their fans aren't rich enough for, it's just weird and doesn't seem like great marketing. Just makes them seem middle aged and out of touch. If they want to boost their coffee sales a coffee promotion with a Green Day element seems like it would make more sense no? Green Day makes coffee cooler but coffee doesn't make Green Day cooler lol. It seems like it's the wrong way round, as if coffee is the main thing and Green Day is the side thing. Hopefully the free subscription gets us something or they'll post stuff on social media as well? That would be cool, otherwise can't see anything exciting about this.10 points

I like Weezer and FOB as well as the Interrupters but I’m feeling alright without my Hella Mega tickets for now. Come this weekend and I see the setlist is something great I might pull the trigger on a ticket (assuming it lines up with a day off) but I won’t be bummed if I miss this tour. I can’t wait to see the band live again but I can’t justify the ticket price for a greatest hits compilation right now. I know that’s what a bulk of the big shows are that they do but Bang Bang and stuff wouldn’t be bad. I even like the silliness of the “hey ohs” and KFAD. The silliness adds to the performance to me, it’s why a Green Day concert is entertaining cause Billie engages so much. I hope they do solo tour again soon.7 points

Well, that's really cool and really disappointing at the same time. It's awesome about the behind the scenes stuff and I really want to see more of that, but to attach it to a coffee subscription just makes me feel alienated. I can only drink decaf because caffeine makes me incredibly sick and I only do that sparingly anyway because I don't care for the taste anyway. Isn't it enough to be someone who passionately loves the band as a fan? All fans should be able to enjoy this wonderful thing they're doing without having to buy into a dumb gimmick. I won't be signing up, obviously, so I guess my only hope is those who do would be willing to share content.5 points

Not sure how I feel about this. My fam actually likes Oakland Coffee -- I've gotten it from time to time. I'm not a coffee drinker -- strictly tea for me. But they have a good product and I guess they have a specific platform for selling it. So I get it on one hand, but I guess I'm struggling with the consumer manipulation at play here. Is it just me?5 points

Same feelings. Alienated. I really do like the idea of their product. I really like that there’s a Billie, Mike and Tre element to the brand. However, it is too pricey to attach it to exclusive fan content. I love coffee but I work hard and I am broke. Luxury is out of reach. Heck, concert tickets are out of reach right now. It seems really opposite of what the band supposedly stands for. In a bubble for too long. Maybe they need people who don’t kiss their butts or try to use them or live in the same bubble. Maybe they’ve alienated themselves and forgot what it’s like not to be them as they are at this moment. Decades of decadence whether they realize it or not. Or maybe they don’t care or just don’t get it. However, super happy that if they attach a partnership so glad it’s with themselves and for a quality product with the environment in mind etc and it’s smart that it’s a product people want and would result in repeat customers and even a want/need for a subscription. But as far as attaching it to Green Day content a fan would love… Someone who has living in a bubble for too long made a whacky decision with this. Unless it’s part of the free subscription or like $1.99 or something like that. Not a lot official social media posts already felt like distancing (that’s fine if social media can be great but also terrible) and now on top of feeling so distant without social media spending $ that’s probably not in many of our means for this subscription for content feels alienating.4 points

kevintylerpreston Tulsa rules, OK? Killer warm up show at @cainsballroom and a nice visit at @theoutsidershouse. We did it for Johnny! #greenday #theoutsiders https://www.instagram.com/p/CRo2bFxtEFm/3 points

I feel the same way. Well said. Waiting for a solo tour again, but my hubby is like maybe after we see the setlist, so who knows. mandyrose4u Well Horney has certainly beefed up 💪🏼 #hellamegatour @greenday @weezer @falloutboy https://www.instagram.com/p/CRolBo9N3kc/3 points

Agreed. I need KFAD. You can't finally bring Kevin into the band and not dress him up. I'd be fine with them not bringing people onstage and losing Knowledge and KYE.3 points
-
A greatest hits set from them will be fine but if they remove KFAD, fans on stage/fan interaction, hey-oh’s, etc., they lose many of the things that make them one of the greatest live bands. They’ll still have great energy, but they’ll be more like other bands that play the same set whether there’s an audience there or just cameras or whatever. At least they should still have a lot of audience singalongs I hope.3 points
-
I don't care about the number of songs they play, as long as I'm being entertained it makes no difference to me. And I'd still want KFAD even with a 90 minute show . So I hope for as long a show as possible. But it's been obvious it would be shorter with three bands headlining so I accept it.3 points
-
So you have to subscribe to get the content? That's some BS. I do like their coffee and don't mind picking it up when I have some extra money, but I don't have the means nor the interest to subscribe right now and that's coming from an avid coffee drinker.3 points
-
With lack of them on social media and BJ's little rant last night about "putting away the phones and your Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok, etc...We don't need that shit"! I don't have high hopes on getting anything from any of them but especially Billie. 🥺3 points
-
Yes exactly! I was happy to pay $1.99 to view the Coffeehouse episode why can’t they do that with this?3 points
-
Nope, not just you. But with all the problems in the world, I can’t get worked up over this. I guess they figure if they’re gonna become corporate sellouts to a sponsor, better it be their own company, one who’s values are their own, and invest back in their own business at the same time. Also, it is a solution to the social media love/hate relationship by moving content to a site they control and eliminating haters and trolls that can comment elsewhere. I can see it being to their benefit. My biggest problem is the one you mentioned — I’m a tea drinker. I buy an occasional box of pods from Oakland Coffee for guests and to have the rare cup because it happens to be really good coffee. But I don’t buy enough to be a subscriber. So for what is basically their fan club now, doing everything Idiot Nation did, it is not enough to be a Green Day fan. To get access to every perk and feel really special, you have to be a coffee drinking Green Day fan. Seems unfair and arbitrary for a fan club. So I’ll just have to sign up for free and take whatever free stuff they offer to the lower classes like me.3 points

Welp....now I don't regret skipping Hella Mega. Hope Green Day do a proper tour soon.3 points
-
At this point I wish I liked Weezer or Fall Out Boy more so I could justify the tickets but I just can’t especially when they’re not coming to my city. Hoping for a proper new album soon and a solo tour after that. Seeing all the excitement around the Tulsa show got me having that need to see them live again soon.2 points

My wife is a subscriber. She loves how easy it is to customize each order and their customer service reps are easy to contact if you have any questions. Also, the customer service reps will do everything they can to make sure you are happy with the service. They helped my wife get free shipping on all of her coffee orders by customizing the shipment frequency. Currently she receives a shipment of 4 boxes of pods every 3 months.1 point

Damn, they did 27 songs in 80 minutes for that show, including JOS? Why did the Tulsa show seem like half the amount of songs?1 point
-
Just came here to show you what Green Day can do in roughly 80 minutes https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/green-day/2019/la-riviera-madrid-spain-4b9d2f76.html They Just have to cut all the "hey ohs" and stuff like that and everything is gonna be alright 😁1 point

That is a very long concert experience. I don't think I could do the whole thing. I definitely didn't expect GD to do more than 90 min. Also remember part of the reason these bands are doing this is so they can do stadiums, have less dates, and not play as long. They're not 20 anymore.1 point
-
Yeah that’s how it always is for outdoor shows. I saw Metallica in Denver in 2017 and there was a rain delay 5 songs in for like 45 mins-to an hour and the band had to pay the city a shitload of money for playing past curfew (show didn’t end until almost 1 am lol)1 point
-
That fucking sucks. As @jengd mentioned, we already kind of knew this, but I'm still super disappointed. That's not nearly enough time for Green Day. I don't know why Weezer and FOB need 75 minutes. An hour would be perfectly sufficient for sub-headliners. That would give GD a solid 2 hours.1 point

Set times for Saturday's show. Looks like Interrupters get 30 minutes, Weezer and FOB 75 mins each and 90 mins for Green Day (9:15-10:45) https://www.facebook.com/groups/hellamegatour/permalink/2746376095486732/1 point

gabygabyhey One day you’re just a 14 year old kid going to punk shows and telling your friends you’re going to work in music when you grow up (but really you have no clue what that even means). Next thing you know, 20 years goes by and you’re helping to make some rock n roll history. I think it’s safe to say I kinda figured it out (or at least for now). This week was truly a special one. I’m still not over it, don’t think I ever will be. I’m just super thankful I to get to come along for the ride.1 point

I don’t know if this had been questions but what about a live album on shared release between the 3 bands? Similar to the DVD with Blink? Or bands playing on each other’s songs as guests, I mean Weezer have coverd Green day before1 point
