  1. I don’t care what anyone thinks. This song was everything I needed right now. I loved the lyrics so much. As someone who lost a best friend to covid less than a month ago, this was so important to me. Thank you Green Day for always bringing me joy ❤️

  3. this feels soooo wrong i think the US only reached around 40% full vaccinated people? you need minimum 70-80% to have sth like a heard immunity in the best case the hellamega teaser video gives you the feeling that everything is alright again and there is no problem to have full packed stadions meanwhile here in germany in some areas you are not allowed to go outside at night and you are only allowed to meet 1 (!) person max. i dont know how the world really looks like in the US but this feels so wrong luckily the shows in europe will take place later in 2022

  4. Also I have to say it’s nice to hear something that isn’t “look I’m SO EDGY” coming from Billie If HCTS makes it on an album, I’m going to scream

  5. Billie gave us a great Longshot album and great Network album. Yet he reserves this generic drivel for Green Day. Wtf.

  7. Back during the 21st Century Breakdown days Butch Vig said Green Day had a song called "Wonderful" that didn't make the album. Billie says wonderful a few times in the beginning of the song, I wonder is this a rewrite of that song. First thing that came to my mind.

  10. Honestly, I was ok with HCTS as something they gave NHL to fulfill their contract, but if that’s what they’re doing for their next album/EP, I’d rather they just didn’t release anything. It makes me feel like I’m watching an old person saying the things they used to say, repeating their old mannerisms, but it’s not them anymore, it’s just a shell, it’s like watching an automation of what they used to be.

  19. bratwurst hot dog as song cover art?! wow, they must have read our discussions about bratwurst in here, if bratwurst can get real, songsforassholes and mootik can get real too *believe* haha do you guys think a new LP could be on the way? because i think this is just one standalone song to boost (US) hellamega, maybe they will record a new album in winter, after the US shows and before europe 2022, or maybe we wont get a new album until hellamega is over in 2022 Pollyanna is a very solid song, not as "punchy" as i hoped for, but its a nice one (and 10 times better than HCTS) for me the song sounds like sth from 21cb/trilogy/revrad, and NOT foam, this is a good direction, keep it goin boys its also very radio friendly imo, but i doubt that the media in germany will be aware of a new GD standalone song

  28. All that means is they were too lazy to make any new artwork so they grabbed the logo from HCTS and slapped a hot dog on it

  29. YUP. I relistened to MM2020 last week and was like - half these songs could be AMAZING (and likely radio successful) Green Day singles. But alas...

  30. HCTS was a pain to get through, this song slightly drags, but it’s not bad.

  35. great song! keep this vibe going for the new album. Of course mix it up with other fast paced punk tunes. But this feels more like the GD I love.

  36. I don't mind a more positive vibe, but does it really always have to be the same cliche chord progression? I thought we've got enough of that on Love Is For Losers. I don't know, I hate to use modern hipster words, but the song is just a meh. Even if it is a throwaway song for the tour.

  39. Ha I clicked this fully expecting it to be a troll! Nice summer melancholic alt rock vibe from 2010s, but why wouldn’t I just listen to Cigarette Daydreams instead? But I gotta say I’m a sucker for Billie’s happy sounding music and contrasting lyrics and I think it’s really cool he went for the opposite for once. Very bittersweet.

  40. Remember when Matt. was teasing us with #FOAM and we were like ''what the hell does that mean??'' and then Billie Joe fucked it all up by hashtaging FOAMF with an F so we all knew what it was.

  42. Sorry but I'm pretty sure it wasn't a troll album. We just need to accept the fact that it was a bad album by our favourite band. Sadly. But it was the best fucking tour idea ever tho!! @Beerjeezus

  43. You guys beat me to it again. I'm convinced it's a location thing, you guys over there on the other side of the country and getting everything early, and hanging out in Billie Joe's back yard and stuff, living it up like the Californians you are. I hope to someday visit. Until then, peace and love from the Carolinas. Oh yeah, and this guy:

  48. So I rarely post outside of instrumental/stem forums, but here are my thoughts on the second leaked audio snippet thing. This is copied from a discord message that I wrote: "Well, first of all... the songs aren't the same speed which does not make any sense considering they were both presumably recorded on a phone. It shouldn't affect the speed that much. The excuse of it being a different part of the song is incorrect, the tempo track that plays in the beginning of the first signifies that the track is being recorded on a fixed bpm. The second track is mixed, rather than output from a speaker... the snares and kicks are in the center... there is no reason for the bass to be panned the way it is here... GD doesn't pan bass besides special circumstances... the intro to a rock/pop (whatever) song having a panned bass just sounds ridiculous. The excuse of a reverb or echo is incorrect because the kicks and other low frequencies would be audibly panned as well. Fixing the audio tracks a bit reveals that bass is in fact meant to be mixed in the center. This FURTHER proofs this fact. The tracks look and sound not much alike. Note the inconsistent guitar slides on the second track that don't exist in the first. This evidence can be debunked... it might be a different part of the song... but I doubt it at this point I really don't think the tracks are the same. The only way this could actually be Green Day is if this is a demo or alternate mix (which I really doubt to be honest). Why would (presumably) Billie tease demo audio?" I've messed with these tracks quite a bit and I only noticed the audio less than an hour ago. Curious if anyone has any thoughts expanding off of my statement here.
