  1. Even though it's nearly an hour, it feels like it goes by quickly and I find myself playing it at least twice each time I go to listen. Still over too fast.

  2. But Mike is the main ingredient of The Network!? I’ve always felt he was the lead man, his singing is so “New Wave”, whereas Billie just makes the songs sound more “normal” Green Day/FBHT.

  3. Somehow I have really started to like Popper Punk. It's addictive. The Network is probably trying to hypnotizise us with it.

  4. Another morning... mean another day with MM2020 on shuffle.

  5. Anywaaaaayyyy.... I love this beautiful picture of Billie singing and playing a piano. Wonder what it's from. That Acoustic 4 A Cure video reminded me how much I love Billie's look there. He looks so sweet and happy and his hair, although a little ratty, is still pretty and floofy. A little bit reminiscent of his current quarantine mop. Hard to believe that was 6 years ago. He still looks exactly the same! The striped shirt is just fire! Here are more.

  8. That fear of not seeing them gives me nightmares, I know how you feel. But I think that you can relax, you're on the same country and that increases your chances a lot, and Chicago is also a big city, they won't leave it behind. We have to stay positive! In my opinion, the RevRad tour was the best for everybody. Even for the band. ❤

  9. Haven't paid too much attention to the lyrics so far on this release- has red alert been declared the color of anything?

  10. I’ve been saying Fink is trying to hypnotise us with Popper Punk since my post on 4 Dec!

  11. I start to think there's a subliminal message in it

  12. Yeah, I'm wondering if he is using Respirator instead of Ventilator purposely tho. Since he seems to be a bit of an alternative facts kinda guy you know

  13. Billie is so tiny next to Kevin aww

  14. Yeah, you're totally right. I guess that says something about this album, huh? It really blurs the lines between Green Day and The Network (not that they're the same band, or anything). And if I had to assign a lead singer for this album, I'd say Fink. He sings lead on most of the songs. 2020 really is a Fink takeover. Okay, but the bass line on Hey Elon. *Mic drop* Boom, just changed your life.

  15. So this is nice As is this But this....ohoho Kevin Kevin, this is a look you should bring back. Because GOOD. LORD.

  16. It's been a long time since I wanted to put an album on shuffle every day. I love waking up every morning, startin working from home with this album in my ears. Then in the afternoon. Then when I'm drunk at night. And then you repeat every day.

  17. Maybe that is the magic of the song. Everyone hears what they want to. The real lyric is Arnold. Schwarzenegger. I'll be back. I'll be back. And it makes great televison watching the world end.

  18. Ok thank you, that’s been happening to me for several days and I can’t figure it out. I think they are just very late notifications because the last stories they posted I don’t remember getting notifications at all. It’s messed up, so good to know it’s not just me I guess.

  19. Popper Punk makes my brain feel like it's melting. That song is mind numbing. I can see how it's hypnotic. It's goes by super quickly when I spend the entire time trying to figure out why I'm still listening to it.

  21. Yeah! There's something hypnotic about the song. Listening to a while feels like Fink is trying to put you in a trance and when you come out of it you'll be itching for some nitrate.

  23. He probably did privately. I wish he’d go back to posting the things he used to. Adrienne too, I miss them both. They can turn comments off or limit them I wouldn’t care. I miss their posts.

  24. Do you think there are any phrases that Billie has used more in his lyrics than “I got a fever” and “we’re all gonna die”?

  25. You know when the band releases a new record and the reporter ask them "what's next?" It's a question that always bother me, BUT now that The Network is back with their new record, I hope that the Foxboro Hot Tubs do the same some day I remember being too new in the forum when their ep came out so I wasn't so aware of them, I only read the news from GDA. It would be great, they should do the Foxies again.

  26. Maybe it's his sidejob with tech developing for Cambridge Analytica and Facebook. For the first time I really took the time to listened to the lyrics. Holy shit this album is way better 😂

  27. Even with the 30+ full listenings of the album, the bassline of Fentanyl drives me mad still. But not the one that plays the main riff, is the one that comes after the full band enters. Truly a masterpiece.

  28. Oh definitely, this wouldn't have felt like a Network album if it wasn't for the songs he sings.

  29. It may be time to take off the "out friday" part of this thread. Every time I see it, I think something new is coming out. This album is old now.

  30. I agree with you until Popper Punk. I do like it, for the exact reason I'm not supposed to? Repetitive, two words only, and it's a substance I didn't know until now and that I don't even care about. But it's fun and different. Hey, if Pizzagate and The Prophecy are considered songs too then I don't see anything wrong with this one. #lovepopperpunk

  31. This (except I also like Last Ride In and Espionage ). Like sure you could trim the album down to the standout tracks, but all the random stuff in between makes it a trip! Wouldn't be nearly as interesting without it. If I haven't already I want to declare myself on team Popper Punk! "Amyl nitrate" said 40+ times in a dodgy cockney accent over a catchy beat? What a concept , I love it.

  32. Surprisingly certain artists seem to skip Chicago. Rob Zombie always goes to bum fuck Illinois instead. Smaller bands like Dead Sara and Prima Donna usually tour the East and West Coast and skip the midwest. Either way, tours make me anxious There's always something to worry about whether it's buying tickets or getting a good spot or whatever. Yet, I keep torturing myself by continuing to go to shows 🤔

  33. Tours make me anxious! I'm always afraid they're gonna pull the whole "Hey Chicago, we're coming to see you!" and then they're going to Tinley Park, which is not Chicago at all and difficult to get to on public transportation. Also, I'm always afraid that whatever tour it is will be my last chance to see the band or that it'll take them forever to come back to my city >_< I know Chicago is a major tour spot, but look at Prima Donna. They haven't been here in ages!!!

  34. Fair, but in my experience, it's easier said than done. It's like you want the interview to come to a natural conclusion and asking "what's next" is a way to do it. What's next also gives whoever they're talking to room for them to plug whatever. Like next is the tour blah blah blah. Or other interviewers have agendas, like their editors might suggest they need to ask that. I don't know, everywhere is different. I'm just going by my experience.

  35. I keep getting notifications on my phone that billie or green day has posted a story, but then nothing is there. I did it about an hour ago saying Mike posted a story, but nothing...

  36. Billie sings about Tv, guns and hearts the most I believe. I think "heart" just may be his most used word across the last 30 years. MM Part 2 doesn't have too many Heart references. Digital Black is the only one I can think of now.

  37. Don't be stealing my theory. The fictional characters from American came to life due to weird stuff Tre and Mike were doing in their garage during a lightning storm and while listening to American Idiot bsides like Governator. Yes, Money Money came out before American Idiot but Van Van Gough has a time machine, so it's fine. The Network came into being in the 80s, much like me. They traveled to 2003 and the rest is I will finish this post in the past.

  38. No doubt the US mail is screwed. Ordered a custom phone case with Fink on it that shipped the 5th from the state I literally share a border with and it sat in a distribution center for five days and isn’t supposed to get here until the 14th. 9 days to hop one state!!

  39. Pizzagate must be related here too. Pretty sure the song does mean respirator and not ventilator.. as he's on his deathbed about to meet his maker Edit: I just googled and now know what you're saying.. sorry I thought it was the other way around. Funny the news always report respirators when they should be ventilators I guess You've ruined the song for me now lol

  40. I've grown to like this album more and more. The only song I really can't stand is That's How They Get You. Squatter, Heard Immunity, and Amnesia Vagabond really don't do it for me either, but they're not unlistenable. I like the story in AV, it's just no my taste aesthetically. Almost all Snoo songs are super hilarious and fun. Fink's are all bangers with sexy vocals, and Van Gough's are a great overall, but a little hit and miss at times. Is anyone else really bothered that Respirator is called Respirator and not ventilator? Those are completely different things. One keeps you safe in dangerous air conditions and the other keeps you breathing through artificial means when you can't on your own. I just feel like they should have known better when writing that song. It's not like ventilator shortages haven't been discussed in the news constantly. That lyric difference wouldn't change the flow of the song at all either. It sounds just as good.

  42. The year's not over yet, either. We could get a Longshot album on the 11th. A Tubbies album on the 18th and then..... on the 25th..... THE FINAL GREEN DAY ALBUM (only named that to whip the fanbase into a frenzy). They will say they won't be promoting it, that they didn't put that much work into it as a joke. and then it's awesome! But then, on January 1st........another Green Day record! It all sounds like the posting of a madman, but I had posted about Money Money 2020: Part ii a year ago, it would have felt the same way. Realistically, I'm hoping for a Green Day record at the end of 2021.

  43. I've begun writing a deep dive into the life and career of Chris Dugan. Sure, nobody's lined up around the block for Mr. Dugan, but he's kind of a B+ list celebrity and deserves the spotlight now and again. I just hope I don't run into too much RED TAPE in my research. That would suck if RED SLEEVE TAPE or RED KEYBOARD TAPE were to get in my way.
