Just watching this and feeling really nostalgic for a great tour -- tight, professional, happy and healthy š I wanna go back10 points

I know there were a lot of people looking forward to Hella Mega, but maybe it would be best just to cancel and have Green Day do a proper another kind of tour.5 points

When the movie studios were taking all the profits back in the early days of film, a bunch of actors got together and create United Artist studios to have more control. Maybe a musician owned streaming service is the way to go?3 points

They went and recorded at least three songs, filmed the videos and put effort into the promotion. Thereās way too much work thatās been put into this for this to just be Billieās random idea that he never acted on.3 points

Why do people keep bringing that wannabe rock star Bill. i. Jo into this? He's got nothing to do with The Network. *SIGH*.3 points

I took 112020 to mean November 2020 and couldnāt figure out why everyone was talking about Friday.2 points

Pretty obvious if you ask me. The album will released on 1st January 2020 (1/1/2020). The Network are time travellers, so the album will be released 11 months before our time š2 points

I'm really hyped to have a The Network font on GDC but kind of sad we never had a FOAM font era lol2 points

I'm pretty sure it is the album, because they have been teasing two songs without fully releasing them.2 points

Imagine if it ends up being some sort of The Network fan band, who has gotten Billie's attention and now he is giving them a chance. That would be stupid and dissapointingš1 point

I wouldn't be surprised if you're right, but I'm trying to be optimistic about this. Boo, you're such a killjoy.1 point

Wow it's an awesome video! Also at 7:45 is that Aimee from The Interrupters? I love them so much. And finally at 5:35 fuck this guy1 point

I think the first indication of what they are gonna do about this tour will be soon when the March dates get closer. If the Asia dates are rescheduled again to 2022 it may mean they intend to go ahead with the whole thing. If they get canceled outright this time that will tell you something about what to expect maybe.1 point

Searching for The Network guitar chords. I figured there wouldn't be any out there, but there is! I've played through Transistors Gone Wild, Money Money 2020 and Roshambo. Guess what else is readily available if I knew some more chords? The Ultimate Test. That's right folks. The good people over at ultimate guitar have it up as a The Network song, so it's confirmed. It's the Network.1 point

And the thing is that it seems that they no longer write 4 minutes epic songs, so we just wait for something basic. I don't mean it in a bad way - I don't say that basic is bad- I just say that for me, the songs of the type they currently write will be more appreciated in the context of the album, and I would prefer to get the whole thing - not because it's hard to wait (which of course it is), but because i would enjoy it more in the context of the whole album listening.1 point

Hey y'all, for whoever was wondering about that "The Countdown" teaser from The Church's channel, that is also Viva Death. I know we already established it isn't The Network, but I don't think anyone confirmed that particular teaser was Viva Death as well. I thought I'd check them out because I really liked Sound the Alarm and I recognized this part of the song. Starts around 1:40.1 point

Do you really think TUT is more āoutside the boxā than IIAN or any of the previews from The Network weāve heard so far; TUT is a pretty unremarkable, bog-standard rock song to me and Iām personally glad none of the VD songs are The Network or Green Day. But then I think FOAM is actually a great album so what do I know.... Iām just pleased you can count on one GD project/side-project never sounding exactly like the last (ahem Foo Fighters), or at least always trying to go somewhere new. The Network has always been my favourite GD side-project so really looking forward to whatās coming next.1 point

Iām only sad it means we still havenāt heard any of those outtakes from the FOAM sessions. Love The Network but I also want more Green Day of which we still havenāt had a lot this year.1 point
-
I'm also curious how this will change the Green Day show as we know it? No more people up on stage to share the microphone, no pit (don't know how they'll untangle that - maybe temperature checks as people go in?), It'll definitely be quite different.1 point

I donāt know the math involved, but I wonder if it depends on how big a hit they take each time they postpone it and what the profit margins are on a tour this size. If any one of the financial players backs out it might not happen. But companies are also desperate to get back to business and they need shows to be booked in 2022 for that to happen so they may be willing to regardless (unless there is better opportunity in scrapping and booking all new tours)1 point
-
If Hella Mega can't happen next year (and I think with every passing day the dream that we can go back to normal next year, at least the first half, gets more and more unlikely), do you think they will postpone it again? Would that even be reasonable from a financial perspective? Or will Hella Mega go down in GD history as "The Tour That Never Happened"?1 point
