  2. Thanks! I'm like 90% sure it's just a weird cold thing. I've only got a dry cough, no fever or anything, so it's probably nothing. Still playing it safe, though! Reminds me of this one that I made:

  3. Yeah there are some special parts when Billies voice sounds beyond amazing. Not only voice, but also the melody to it. The way he articualtes or whatever I also feel it to MMOTR - 'I'm taking drawning lessons...' EDIT: especially 'I beg a thousand pardons'

  7. I think Billie's voice sounds stunningly beautiful in all songs on this album (maybe except for the falsetto in FOAM which I still hate, lol). I already said it before and I will say it again, the production of this album is fantastic. Everyone who isn't listening with headphones clearly misses out on something, especially in the vocal parts

  8. Random thought: Money Money 2020 seems scary predictive because of ongoing economical collapse this year. Also, the fact, that Billie is denying and hating The Network, as if he KNEW that they will fuck up the year 2020 for him ๐Ÿ˜‚

  9. I think heโ€™s always had great, natural vocal phrasing.

  10. I agree (except for the FOAM bit) this is possibly the most interesting Green Day album sonically. The production sounds great and theres a lot of interesting textures and layers that make it feel really fresh sounding.

  12. Ruined their discography? I wouldn't go that far. I like FOAM personally, but even if I didn't I wouldn't say the rest of their catalog was ruined because everything else is great! If I didn't like it I would see it more as a stain on their catalog.

  13. And the way he sings "Gonna dance/ to something wiiiiiiiilllld" โค๏ธ There's just a lighthearted feel to it. I get chaotic vibes from it but at the same time feel peaceful while listening to it. Oxymoronic, sure, but there you go.

  17. This... despite the sometimes unoriginal melodies and possibly less refined lyric writing, itโ€™s one of their best albums thanks to the sound. Iโ€™ll give it another listen after I havenโ€™t heard it in a couple weeks before I say itโ€™s the best, but it might as well be, at least sonically.

  21. For me, it starts with Troubled Times on RevRad, then after that when I want to feel slightly less shit about what the world has come to, it's Junkies on a High as I watch the world... BUUUUURRRRNNNNN!!!

  24. It's so boring and depressing at work, so I wanted to share my favorite Green Day magazine cover. I still remember seeing this at the store near my high school. I was just getting into Green Day at the time. I saw this magazine and just had to buy it...mainly because they looked so good! I haven't looked back since.

  26. Aww, man, I really needed all those pictures. I've got corona-ish symptoms right now, so I'm having to stay home for at least 3 days until they go away. It's super boring and lonely. ๐Ÿ˜” Super glad I have GDC and all of you to talk to and fangirl with! Here's more Billie pics. A mix of hot, cute, goofy, and just all around Billie-ness.

  31. Totally agree. FOAMF Just sucks, But to be fair I like four songs of the album, but no so much. What a incredible discography ruined by this "midlife crisis" record as you said. Also the cover of the album man, can't be worse.

  36. Alt Press piece here: https://www.altpress.com/features/current-political-musicians/ 10 MODERN MUSICIANS KEEPING THE POLITICAL CONVERSATION ALIVE These musicians are speaking out about their political grievances and motivating listeners to do the same. Green Day, Rise Against the Machine and Against Me! all still use their musical platforms to share their frustrations with the world when it comes to politicians and government issues. These pioneers paved the way for younger political musicians to continue creating songs that spark dialogue, even outrage, with their songs and music videos. Climate change, immigration and gun control are just a few of the issues bands and artists are discussing today. With the 2020 election just around the corner, these issues are being discussed frequently on the news and across the internet. Below are 10 modern-day musicians who are standing up and speaking out about their political grievances to motivate listeners to do the same. List of those artists follows.

  38. This is probably going to sound technical and boring but it also feels like the vocal mix is being interpreted as poppy because of the glossy layered sound - I think those are actually 60โ€™s effects that just happen to resemble modern pop sounds. It sounds like thereโ€™s an ADT on his voice in all the songs, which was an effect George Martin & The Beatles invented because John Lennon hated doubling his voice. It basically took the single vocal track and created fake doubles by playing the original vocal at a slightly different but randomized speed and pitch at the same time. Listen to Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds and youโ€™ll for sure hear the FOAM vocal sound. It almost feels like a totally different album when ya start finding these little Easter eggs

  39. I agree with most of what you are saying, but this album and it's terrible marketing is getting absolutely butchered by the general public to the point where even I don't understand why people hate it so much. The Trilogy had it's fair share of haters, so did RevRad (for some reason I still don't understand) but I have NEVER seen as many people hate a GD record as I have with this one, so yeah, I think they notice there's something slightly off ๐Ÿ˜‚.

  40. I took some time away from the album. My detours were Eminem, other Green Day records, Scars on Broadway and my own recordings. Now I'm back and the album hasn't lost any of it's charm; It's still a fun listen and I even give my least favorites spins. After playing Sugar Youth at least twice of course. At home now, blasting ZZ Top and about to go on the prowl for new music to listen to.
