When you're watching Colbert with your parents and he shows a clip of Mike Bloomberg saying something about a "naked cowboy in New York" and you pause it to tell them about that time Billie was wearing nothing but underwear and a cowboy hat with his guitar outside the St. James theater. He was an almost naked cowboy in NY. š7 points

Obviously itās not very nice to get overly interested in people right in front of their partnersā salad, but as long as thereās no inappropriate behavior towards the girl, I guess itās an acceptable level of assholery (not from the guyās POV but you know thatās not what Iām talking about). I mean, we donāt know what exactly the guy meant, but even if Billie was hitting on her, itās fine as long as heās not going metoo on girls, which I doubt.5 points

Warning: Off-topic Yeah no, I reject this guy's premise. Seriously, does he think punk has never evolved in any way whatsoever? Maybe someone (even as a "true punk") could come to realise that, however "anti-establishment" running a guzzling motor on idle or littering might appear to be at first, that wouldn't stop it from being bad for the planet or people's health, so maybe one shouldn't do it? The reasons for doing so will have changed too, because it's no longer religious fundamentalists or racist millionaires asking poor people or people of colour to act in a "cleaner", "appropriate" or "non-polluting" way, but scientists or NGOs. Most punks would of course say that the structure and inherent corruption of the current political and economic system are mostly to blame (100 companies contributing to 71% of green-house gases for example) and that they won't accept Billionaires like Bloomberg blaming them for all the worlds problems. But nowhere in the punk job description does it say "be a dick" or "act in ways which will make the life of other poor and vulnerable people worse". Of course there's some "original" punks who literally haven't evolved at all and therefore reject any form of environmental/health/social activism "telling them what to do", but newer waves of punk now incorporate these things into their message as a part of what is wrong with the SYSTEM.4 points

True, you wouldnāt want to get any into your lungs, but that shouldnāt happen... reminds me of that one time in elementary school we had a class where we got educated about the risks of drugs and then we had arts and crafts, where the teacher had us to draw with glue and then paint over it and sprinkle flour and salt on top of it all. We spent the entire class doing lines of salt pretending it was coke. Didnāt even get nosebleeds3 points

re-recordings of kerplunk and 39 smooth? you kids are dorks. a) that'll never happen. b) that doesn't need to happen. c) if you think those albums are "bad quality" you need to get your ears checked.3 points

Yeah, I'm taking this with more than a few grains of salt. All we have to go on is what some rando claims and fuzzy videos that don't even show anything.3 points

I thought it was only a matter of time until some ReAl PuNx cried about the cancellations, because risking the lives of fans and excluding the immunosuppressed is totally punk rawk Ironic that it comes from a place of privilege (not being immunosuppressed so not needing to worry about coronavirus). Punk "died a little bit more today" because it's still being treated as an ableist and elitist macho contest.3 points

I had a dream a while back where GD were like Mario Kart characters except they were driving on real roads and Billie ran a red light so I unstanned him. Also had a dream the other day where I got into a fight with Tilda Swinton and Billie had to break it up.2 points

I donāt understand why they didnāt have Sugar Youth go directly into Junkies on a High instead of having the clear separation. It would have worked so well. I just tested it on logic. I wish I was able to upload the video straight to the forum2 points

I still love this record! The title track got overplayed beforehand (by me, so my own fault!) Great song when I do listen. And Fire Ready Aim just can't stay with me no matter how many times I play it. I like it, but it is VERY out of place on this record. Should have done this as a standalone hockey thing. Least favorite. So I usually start with Oh Yeah or Meet me on the Roof. Both just really make me happy. Teenage Teenagia Teenagerererer is fun, although I do find myself itching to get to later songs at this point. Stabbie Heartie - Good golly miss molly! I was skipping this one for a while but now I love it. It still feels new to me because I haven't played it a batrillion times. The last four tracks are absolute perfection. They also sound like they were originally part of something bigger and more elaborate. Looking at the track list, I feel like Father of all, Sugar, Junkies, Money and Graffitia were pulled from what could have been an epic 21st Century Breakdown style album. Perhaps Oh Yeah and even Meet me on the Roof were part of this concept album as well. But then Fire Ready Aim, Teenager and Stabbie were thrown in for a different vibe. Overall, a great and fun album and I am really pumped for a 5th single!2 points

Kerplunk has grate songs, played live, but is recorded with a low quality sound and production... I think Green Day should re record that two first albums or give us official live records of 80, razorbacks, words i might haave ate, never released yet2 points

Fuck anyone who questions their decision to cancel this tour. Not much good playing shows neither you nor your fans can get to. Or is that punk? š2 points

I wasn't here during that era but I can imagine why... but yea, I mean I feel like they did a little more to promote RevRad. I remember there was a club show in LA, I didn't get tickets but anyways... I thought something similar was going to happen but oh well things could still change even if its been a month since foam's release I don't remember what thread I read this in, but someone said the setlist should include some of the more party-like songs from the trilogy, that's whole point of the tour anways ! I just want to include this just in case Billie comes to creep š1 point

I keep wondering what gd is going to do now that the Asia shows are postponed. Imagine rehearsing and being excited for this big tour just to being forced to cancel it for the moment. I really can't really imagine them do nothing lol I'm really hoping for a small club tour1 point

So its been almost a month, what are your final thoughts? I think the album is okay at max. I like it but Iām bored of it now. Canāt stand sugar youth and stab you in the heart. Listening to warning and itās so much more fun, more fresh and it actually can stand up for itself. Havenāt listened to foam in 4 days, not really looking forward to listening it.1 point

GDC thinks that everything artists write about are 100% true reflections of their life. There is no fantasy in the eyes of GDC. Billie Joe does Yeyo, underage Billie Eilish seduces people's dads, and John Lennon is a walrus.1 point

FOAM actually sounds great with the Longshot album back to back. It is odd though how thereās been no discussion of the songsā music or lyrics in any great detail, and there are some great lines here. Maybe itās because nearly every song is āIām so depressed over the state of the world I want to drink and do drugs so I donāt kill somebodyā. The shame is I think we all feel depressed over the state of the world but in the past when Billie would write about those feelings it was relatable ā The excessive rock star level partying heās talking about to escape those feelings is not. I think the substances (and maybe the depression he admits he was in when he wrote this album) unfortunately makes it harder for him to get at those underlying fears and emotions clearly and honestly and puts a distance between the writer and the listener. The retconning of his past struggle is just more evidence of this masking heās doing. It makes it harder to connect with him.1 point
