  2. So, after one week of listening, I can say this album grew on me a lot and I'm happy that it's so much better than expected after we got the first two singles. FRA is still a weak song for me, but I like it more now. FOAM is the only song on the album I still absolutely don't like, sorry. We won't be friends in this lifetimešŸ˜‚ I love Graffitia, Junkies on a High, Meet Me on the Roof, Sugar Youth, Take the Money and Crawl and Oh Yeah. I can't get so much into Stab You in the Heart because it sounds like an exact copy of Hippy Hippy Shake for me. I like Teenage Teenager, but it's too long in my opinion - I don't see the point of this being the longest song on the album with 3:45, they are repeating one verse and a repetetive chorus over and over. It could have been shorter and Graffitia could have used some extra time. It has that epic, Who-esque, anthem-like feel and could totally be the Forever Now of this record with one or two extra minutes. Have I already mentioned how much I love Graffitia? So overall, I think it's a really good record with songs I like a lot. And now that I got over the shock of how dark, depressing and even suicidal some of the lyrics are, I can even dance to the songs (after the first few listens, I felt more like crying to be honest because some lyrics are truly shocking).

  3. I care less and less about reviews because none of these people's opinions are more valid than mine, except those who make/produce music themselves. I enjoy this album. I think a large amount of people just hate Green Day and will trash them no matter what they put out.

  6. I was overjoyed when Billie said he loved The Cure. They're one of my most favorite bands and I was like AHHHH Billie loves them too! Excellent taste šŸ‘Œ

  7. That’s what I do. On a drive I’ll start it at track four and let it come around to the beginning at the end if I have time. I don’t skip anything though I just want to hear tracks 4-10 more right now.

  8. They posted something like that on Reddit and if you search Swedish songwriters or best trap album on google you can really see the Foamf cover. Kinda funny lol

  9. Your comment got me thinking. He once said that Lazy Bones was a song that was hard for him to perform because it was so true it made him emotional. I wonder if the same holds true for some of these darker songs and why he’s reluctant to play them live?

  10. I'm not usually one to fangirl over TrĆ©, but I watched the album release iHeart interview last night and may I just say that he is looking absolutely fantastic right now?! Looks better than ever. They all do. This is going to be a spectacular era! And Billie's selfie 100% killed me! He is perfection! šŸ˜ His neck though.

  14. I think that’s one of the cutest pics of them. I really love Mike’s goofy face. Billie keeps blowing people’s mind with his 48 year old appearance. I couldn’t tell how much this pic made me happy especially while going to school that I hate lol

  20. I actually like I Was a Teenage Teenager, but I agree that it's way too long. I wonder what the intention was.

  21. He’s probably referring to all those (many) reviewers that have been trashing this band for 10 years and now gave very positive ratings to this record. Metacritic also still have to register some really positive reviews like the one from the Guardian, it takes them some time to have a full overview, we should check this in a couple of weeks.

  22. Butch saying best reviews since AI is a stretch. If he's referring to the metacritic score, everything since has been roughly around the 65-72, so not much difference. The reviews have been mixed from both critics and fans. Rev Rad is probably the best overall reviewed since AI.

  25. "Dirty looks and I'm looking for a Pig Bag," which I'll never unhear because it's a real thing from an obscure 90s video game, where you capture Evil Pigs in Pig Bags.

  27. Hard to say. In all honesty, it’s doing better than I thought it would at this point. I think it will be a near sell out in most major cities. Hard to tell. The pit sold out immediately. There aren’t many groups of 4. Fairly indicative of where it would be for the price of the tickets. With the Harley promotion, I wish they brought the tickets price down or it would be selling quicker but it’s doing well.

  30. I started listening to more Weezer when they announced the tour and I’ve come to like quite a lot of it so that’ll be fine. I’ve seen the Interrupters and they’re one of my favorite bands. FOB will be the longest bathroom/food/merch break ever. To me, they’re as stab my eardrum with an icepick annoying as PanicATD. Both of them make we want to run away screaming.

  32. Lol, yeah he mainly comments on how ā€œsolidā€ the band is, or something like that I still like to see a dude that clearly is not really familiar with the band enjoying the new material
    2 points
  33. I like that actually, because it allows the song to smoothly progress in its instrumental component It starts as a soft no drums song, and it ends in a completely different and anthem-ish state. It works pretty well IMHO, especially if compared to ā€œsimilarā€ tracks from the band such as Outlaws.

  34. So apparently, my FOAM vinyl is still in CaliforniašŸ˜‚ But at least I got a status update this time. It was my mistake that I accidentally ordered it on the US and not the EU store, but why the hell is it still in California after one week? It will probably never get here because I'm sure it will get stuck at customs🤣😭

  35. Yeah, it has similar vibes I think but I personally prefer his little brother’s works much more lol Billie loves British bands, mentioned The Cure recently and it honestly made me happy

  41. I keep seeing posts that say ā€œI love it but I think most people hate itā€ How can that be if everyone is saying they love it? I think it’s a skewed view of social media posts that are giving this impression but without a poll or something there is no way to tell anecdotally based on social media what ā€œthe vast majority of fans thinkā€. Certainly most fans here would rate the album well. Haters can be a loud minority on social media because they get clicks, likes and attention and the more of these you view, the more the algorithms will show you. It confirms your bias and gives you a skewed view of reality.

  42. I personally don't even care that melodies from non Green Day songs are used, it's when he recycles used Green Day songs that disappoints me, I don't mind when it's older albums, but on the same album multiple times? Yeah that's a little much. I have said in the past that I'd give it a 7, but I am pretty happy with a final score of 6. I would have rated this album higher than a 6 if it: 1: Wasn't filled with repetitive melodies. 2: Was a little longer, maybe 3 tracks or so would have done it. 3: Didn't have such god-awful fan insulting cover art, I don't care if it's a troll album or not, there's just no excuse here. 4: Didn't have those stupid pew pew laser sounds on some of the best bangers (This is a Rock 'n' Roll album, I don't wanna hear that shit). Keep in mind that 6 isn't bad, most of the songs here are quite solid, but to me it's still only slightly above average. When compared to even the trilogy albums this just doesn't cut it musically, and the overall presentation of the album along with its terrible marketing certainly doesn't help give a good impression (Billie, try to at least be somewhat sober next time you are going to announce a freaking album). I am interested to see what the leftover songs are since they "didn't really fit on the album", from what I understand it's probably going to be an EP right? "Son of the Father of all Motherfuckers" is what I am gonna use as a placeholder name for this.

  43. Meet Me On The Roof and I Was A Teenage Teenager are still utterly horrible after 25-30 listens. The rest is okay. Solid. Not amazing. Just solid. Though I REALLY hope they put TTMAC and Graffitia in the set list. I love you Billie but please don’t make us listen to your strained falsetto on FOA, FRA and MMOTR live, makes me cringe. šŸ˜‚
